Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

I wish I could say they don't burn, but I do have a heat problem if we're not in the midst of Winter. The hood is enclosed and I run the six inch inline at full throttle whenever the light is on, so I can get pretty close but the secret is out now. RM has ugly plants with burn, thanks Defect. Seriously, I get burn and ugliness, some from heat, some of it from high ppm, and some from mismanagement and laziness. I hide/ignore that when I'm trying to show off for yall. :)

The way to ramp up terpene production is to take the plants to the edge. Burned leaves make delicious oil. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thank you for your honesty my friend! It's nice to hear real world problems from someone with as much experience. Because I have a 6" fan myself at half throttle right now. Temps haven't been above 80 yet but the tent is in the basement.

Ps. My hydro plants are stunted and nowhere near the light so light burn won't be an issue is round. .

I could be a world class chef then. Nothing but the finest of crispy yellow leaves used in my recipes. :)

I wish I could move all my tents into the basement. Of course then I'd have to admit my toasted plants aren't a result of heat but instead I'm a sorry gardener.

I think I'm entering 'foxtail' territory on the SSDC. That line can be a bit nuanced to call. Perhaps your experienced eye can guide me some?

Is foxtailing something to be concerned about in your world Tead? I love foxtails. Each little flower makes a single hit in the bong. What more could you ask for?

Is it possible???
Has Tead become just too damn much of a snob?
Perhaps!
You raise an excellent point. Bub is bud, and it makes little difference.
On the other hand, the fingers are verrrrrry twitchy and there may be a horrific scissor catastrophe.

Mine looked Iike they were going to foxtail, but then they "got their swoul on". Nothing but fat buds. They look fine to me. :)

Patience Grasshopper, patience. :rofl::rofl:

I think this is a better example of foxtailing

Nah man, that's just the beginnings of what's going to be a fat budded cola.

I think some of Sue's cosmic guidance has rubbed off on me. Here we are talking about burnt plants while JK2, struggler/survivor that she is, was crisping her top and barely drinking. When what do I see? A quote in HT that says a plant will quit drinking and dehydrate, dry up, turn crispy, etc due to nutrient salts building up in the roots. DUH ! Felt like a clue by four to the head. Especially since JK2 is the AN recipient.

She was removed from her bucket yesterday evening and had 5 gallons of plain water hosed over the roots. I massaged the roots in the fresh bucket, and agitated them around and up and down like a washing machine. Next was another fresh five gallons and another washing machine routine, and then placed back into the original bucket. The ten gallons waste was pretty cloudy. Now I'll sit back and wait to see if she resumes drinking and swelling.

Back to your regular programming, brownie eating, and bong rips. Peace y'all. :peace:

Edit: Before I forget, I also read in HT where hydroton is used to hold down rockwool in a flood and drain system, accompanied with a photo of a single layer on a RW block. Now I'm sure they employ writers that know absolutely nothing about growing. It's much more likely the clay was used to block light and prevent algae since hydroton is lighter than RW and floats. <smfh>

Six days on the drying rack and the SSDC was ready to jar. :) A better than expected harvest as far as I'm concerned.

DC1 - 162g/5.8oz Advanced Nutrients
DC2 - 205g/7.3oz Remo Nutrients

Total - 367g / 13.1oz (88 days sprout to jar under 600w hps)

I can not complain about my 2016/17 season. I've got everything you see below, and I still haven't harvested the Auto Jedi Kush. :icon_cool

Life does not get any better, I don't care what anyone says. :circle-of-love:

I'm good to go until this time next year.

GREAT work Rifle. You're a pro.

Peace, Hyena

Whoa!!!! That's a nice haul for a season Luke. :high-five: Make me look like a slacker. :laughtwo:

I agree, life doesn't get any better than this. :circle-of-love:

Thanks y'all. :) Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. My Auto Jedi Kush are coming down this week and I'll be out of the cultivation game until the Fall. It's just as well, I'm tired of tending them, and need to sanitize the ol' place as I get ready to pawn off my problems to a willing buyer. My real estate friends keep asking to list it and I think I'm ready.

The idea of getting all traces of our hobby cleaned out is daunting. I'll have to rent a storage shed and even then I won't feel comfortable unless I empty the house and clean it before anyone comes in. :bitingnails:

I read this, looked around at what I have in the bedroom alone, and shook my head in wonder. I've been eliminating extraneous stuff for almost two years now, and I'm convinced I'm gonna get down to me and my grow equipment and maybe some clothes in a box. :laughtwo: There's a lot of the grow equipment and not much of anything else.

Kinda makes this old girl feel proud. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hello hello hello. Been out fer a minute. Everything lookin goooood!!! :volcano-smiley:

Hmmm.... so I gotta get one of these bad boys bigger than yours while you're on your summer hiatus....
A daunting challenge... but I think a feisty Tead might be up to the task.

I'm betting they'd be monsters outside. :) hint hint
