Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

Ive only grown the bt twice and gotten 2 phenos. Long lanky sativa dom and a shorter bushier indica dom. Both super sweet smelling ( think blueberry syrup) that filled the house with deliciousness. Really sticky with a lot of fat trichomes alllll over ( the undersides of all the leaves seriously looked like i wet them and dipped them in sugar) lemme see if i have a pic...

Frosty indeed. :)

:thumb: Rock on Tead ! Lovely girls. ;) Too bad the breeder is hard to deal with.

I DIY'd myself a bubble cloner out of her container. :cheesygrinsmiley: Too bad I'm eight months away from needing it, but I'll use it for practice before then. :) If I'm wearing sunglasses the next time you see me, you'll know permission would have been the correct choice.

12 gallon latch and carry, local home improvement store, clearance priced $8 US
2" hole saw, 2" net pots, 2" cloning pucks, rapid rooter plugs, air pump, etc..... on hand misc.
Total $8
I'd like to pick up these supplies while back in USA. what are the 2" cloning pucks and rapid rooter plugs?

The cloning pucks are the black things on top of the tote. Made of foam. Stick it around the cut stem and drop it in the 2 inch hole, cut side hanging down underneath. Rapid Rooters are a synthetic seed/clone starting media plug which allegedly has rooting hormones imbedded in it. Brand name so Google or Amazon will turn them up.

Day 54 Water Change

A little bit of data and some photos of the roots is all I have for you this week folks. :) All the roots look like the JK2 photo, my auto white balance plays heck with the hps so some of the photos look "dirty".

....

Looking good bud and interesting to note the nutrient concentration not doing too much on any of them. I've only got 1 plant flowering in hydro at the mo but it seems to be just nibbling too. Hopefully they are just nibbling at pudding after pigging out on the main course!? I was worried I'd done something to mine during the chaos but nutrient usage is probably in the same sort of ballpark now so I guess it's cool if your plants are doing the same:goodjob:

I just took a peek at them. Noticed some serious burnt tips on JK2. Didn't even need my glasses. I'm betting there is more on DC1 I haven't seen....Thanks AN. :biglaugh: One day I'll go to the optometrist and realize how dreadful some of my plants actually are.

I've done enough knocking of AN without trying them myself but I take it you are taking to the Remo nutes more and more? Are they showing less burn?

Not even sure if Remo nutes are stocked locally....and if they are will the guys at the grow shop let me buy them as they seem pretty set in their HPS and pH down ways (which to be fair seem to work pretty well).

Next JK res change I'll be backing off to 3/4 strength nutes and see if that stops pH heading south as the water goes down. If you plotted a graph of nutrient usage throughout an auto grow how would it look? Bell shaped? Some graphs more pointy than others?

:passitleft:

Hello Kushtie, Rifleman... very interesting thread here on "Nute Concentrations" based on where you are in the grow cycle.. Is there a "general rule of thumb" on "nute levels / timing"? Also, I had read "somewhere", that I should keep my EC at least above 1000 - but in this journal it seems like the "smart people with all the green dots" are running under 500. Would you please provide some clarification?
thanks

I am liking the Remo better. Mostly due to ease of cleanup, and too the fact they don't have 85 different products. :biglaugh: They don't have any burn, but due to not using the Magnifical, which I didn't think I'd need, they do show some deficiencies.

IDK about a graph. It's rare I go back more than a week or two to see what's happening. Lazy you know. ;) But mine would probably be bell shaped. Seems from mid bloom on they decrease the appetite.

EC is expressed in a value of 0.0 to usually 3.0ish but can go higher. What you're thinking of is ppm or part per million. I often see crazy high ppm readings quoted. Mostly by nutrient manufacturers. You've heard the term "Less is more"? That can be especially true in real life dwc vs theoretical nutrient manufacturer dwc. :) But in bloom 1000ppm isn't too high. I start week one around 300ppm and work up. At 3ml/L this is the hottest I've ever run AN and it's getting me around 1200ppm. Closer to the finish I'll back off the nutrients some and let her eat herself.

A little Day 57 photo update. The DC buds are three to four times the size of the JK buds. Still waiting. I suspect the Jedi is playing mind tricks with us and will explode with fatness soon. I hope anyways.

Lookin great as always Rifle!!!! Happy Saturday!!! :volcano-smiley:

Good to know you get roughly the same feeding pattern....reassures me the hydro ones are hopefully on the right track. I'm going to try it with soil too....instead of feeding them out a hydro res all the way through flower I'll just do it for the first half then go plain water once they slow down.

JKs seem to look far better at the top of the main than the side branches. More so than other strains? Starting to fill in and look like there might be some weight to them but I think you might be right about the extended timescale.:snooze::laughtwo:

Thanks Scottay. I don't think Sue has the same calendar I do.

Both of the JK are weak down below. Between being crowded in with the larger DCs and shaded by their own massive fan leaves they didn't get a lot of light down low.

Might be an early harvest, or we may see what happens when a dwc is left bubbling with no light, and no water top offs for 10 days. :bitingnails: Of all times I didn't need a slow grow this was it. Grrrrr.

You trying to confuse the man Scottay? :laughtwo:

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Everyday *IS* Saturday Sue. I know because I had a retirement party .

Hey man I got a question I got a new tent 4-4-6.5 and have funds only for either two 300 watt leds or one 600 watt led which would be best iyho

Good question OB. :scratchinghead: If for no other reason other than the adaptability/versatility I'd be inclined to go with the two 300s. Especially if they will daisy chain in regards to the electrical supply. But remember, two lights means twice the chance of a mishap, and twice the amount of space used overhead. A little of a toss up, but I like the idea of being able to manipulate the footprint or sidelighting.

Hahahahahaha......no Sue.....he said every day for him is saturday!!! So happpyyy (friday) saturday!! Hehehe :volcano-smiley: puff puff pass

You're :welcome: Gauge. Glad to know I helped. Sometimes my explanations confuse folks more than help. My stoned verbosity looses something in translation often times. ;)

LMAO:rofl: you know my schedule ! Since you didn't see them the first time around I'll drop a few photos below. Barney's Farm Sweet Tooth Auto. IIRC she was around 40 inches and 13 oz dry. Harvested 1-31-16

What is up BRO?! Been away for a while but looks like you've come up! Plants are looking great! Buds are huge and I love the trichome pics! Been slowly catching up with every1s progress since I've been afk, but good to see you have been doing so well. Keep it up brah! :goodjob:

I honestly don't know what day of the week it is most of the time. When people ask I always say Saturday. It is afterall... for me anyways. :)

Good to have you back. :ciao: It's the ssdd here. Watching plants grow, and the world roll by. It's a good life if one can manage the boredom. :biglaugh:
