Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

Rifle, just wondering what it would look like if we kept similar stats on ourselves..

HYENA M

Height.....6 ft
Grown since 3-26.....2 lb.
Drank since 3-26.....12 six-packs
pH out.....Two-three times most nights
PPM out.....That's personal
Nutrient ppm (calories) in.....16,252

Honestly I don't want to know.

Peace, Hyena

I mix mine in four separate five gallon buckets, then start the water change. From mixing to pouring in the now clean and ready growing bucket varies from 30 to 90 minutes. You could mix the night before, but I'm betting you'll have particulate matter fall out of suspension without the constant agitation of aeration.

I fill 3gal buckets the night before and let them sit. Didn't know I'd be able to mix the ferts then too. I've been mixing everything the day of and then empty the res clean and refill. I've heard of people keeping premixed nutes for weeks to feed plants as needed, while some mix only when needed.

I've kept a food/activity diary before. If you're pushing maximum density as I was (read as fat ass) it will amaze you how much you Intake. It was quite depressing at the time. I had no idea how to eat, and no hope of ever being thin again. Quitting alcohol and smoking cannabis all day turned that around. I'm a just slightly pudgy 180 now. A million dollar idea waiting for the Feds to deschedule....

"The All New Get the Giggles While You Lose Weight Cannabis Smokers Diet. And now for you nonsmokers the All New Cannabis Patch Diet !"

Be sure to let your water sitting for 24 hours before mixing in the nutrients. That gives time for the chlorine to evaporate off.

I've never been able to keep weight on. Maybe I'm smoking the wrong weed.

I mix mine ahead of time and just throw an air stone in the bucket to keep it moving and to supply air for any biologicals I might be using.

Very nice brother! Lookin great. :volcano-smiley:

Lowered LEDs two weeks ago. Got back last night and this evening cracked the box to this. My diagnosis is cal deficiency. pH Friday was 4.8 and climbing and at time of Discovery was 5.8 however my Ec was 3.0 what is that 1500 / 2100 Rez was 69. The ppm is up and had risen from 1209 since Friday.

Conducting Rez change now .
Your DWC and LED experience are appreciated.

It appears only on the newest top growth.

I've been on both ends of the spectrum. You're smoking the right stuff. :)

I can't imagine the roar when I'm running full tilt with eight plants. Sixteen buckets bubbling all at once. It could set up a harmonic frequency that would bring down the walls of Jericho. :biglaugh:

Thanks Scottay. :passitleft:

Guage, I'm going to drop some links to photos that will help you long after I'm forgotten. :)

First breaks down mobile, and immobile nutrients and their associated deficiencies.

And another of the same thing but with more details.

And the chart for proper pH.
https://www.420magazine.com/gallery/data/500/pH_chart71.jpeg

And two more just because they should be in every dwc growers toolbox. :)

Top growth effected only and pH at the levels you quoted sounds like a Mn deficiency. But keeping with the KISS theory... when was your pH meter calibrated last? Faulty info will lead to faulty conclusions. ;) Hopefully with your eyes on site and the linked photos you'll be able to match the problem.

I don't think it is LED related. If it were it would be bleached white, and/or an LED induced Ca/Mg deficiency would show on lower growth first since they are mobile nutrients.

Copy or download those charts if you have memory problems like I do. I still reference them often and reckon I always will. I'm a slow learner.

It isn't that bad. I always have a 45l/pm air pump running for my autopots and my tea. It can handle up to 8 airlines with little problems and the noise is drowned out by my exhaust fan. So hooking up a couple air stones doesn't increase the harmonic distortion that greatly. LOL. Although 16 five gallon buckets might get loud.

A friend keeps a Rubbermaid brute 32 gallon trash can filled with RO water with an air stone and submersible pump. He grows in coco so always needs the cal/mag in there so he always adds that when he first fills up the can and keeps it bubbling. Between that and the cal/mag it helps to stabilize the pH of his RO water. Whenever he needs water he just turns on the pump and uses a hose to fill a bucket and then adds the rest of his nutrients.

I've looked at RO filters and pumps, have 55 gallon food grade barrels on hand, and have been oh so tempted. My frugal side keeps me from taking the plunge when I consider the initial cost, waste water, and added expense of a ca/mg supplement. :) It's alright, those of you in the know can point and laugh when I cite expense and ca/mg. For those that don't know, I have four bottles. 1-0-0, 2-0-0, 3-0-0, and 4-0-0.:rofl: What can I say? :icon_roll

Thank you Sir. I know you have better things to do than calm every newbies fears.
Thanks again

De nada Guage. I'm an old retired fart with lots of time and I don't mind at all. :)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say your computer auto corrected you to carnival since you type it so much. :) Devil's Crack my dear.

I'd like to see some others grown. This is truly a first run here. There was another, but it was grown off to the side under only 10hrs light per day so it doesn't count in my mind. If the final haul is a nice large one I may have to run 4 at a time next year. The lack of an offensive (to some) odor is a huge plus.

Let's see them folks. Those of you who scored the SSDC while they were available, drop some beans. ;)

I misunderstood. I have Devil's Carnival seeds from Canna and Nis, and they were being considered to follow these DDAs I have now. The Devil's Crack, was that of your own making?

If you are wandering in from one of the pH threads, Welcome to The Roost. :ciao: All my photos are linked to larger versions, and any and all questions are encouraged. Check my blog entries for some DIY dwc stuff, and deficiency charts/photos. While you're at it take this too :joint: Pass it left, if that person is slow go ahead and bogat until you're caught.

We're all students here Guage. No one minds questions and no one will give you attitude instead of an answer. :battingeyelashes:

I did not know they had made a devil carnival cross, so maybe it was me misunderstanding. Heck who cares. :) As long as they smell and taste as sweet as the dda. ;) The devil's crack was an exclusive release from RM Labs. If you want I'll give the guys a call and see if there are any left in the vault if you didn't get them the first time out ? :)

I appreciate the offer, but I'd be hard pressed to fit another strain into my small grow. Keeping the CBD Critical Cure in constant rotation while I build up a decent inventory for the daughter has everyone backed up. I still have seeds from Jamaica to play with. :laughtwo:

I can't bring myself to stop growing DDAs. They own my tiny closet. :cheesygrinsmiley:

And a right cozy home it is. :battingeyelashes:

I am comfortable in saying significant upward growth has stopped with all four girls. :) Ergo this will probably be the last daily data dump. I know you're disappointed:rofl: but there will be the occasional update, and Sundays are always water change day. ;)
