Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

Prying eyes and enquiring minds. :) Gently moved things to the side and had a little look at our missing babies. M1 & 3 are sprouted just haven't brought their tiny heads to the surface yet. M5, the sour crack, might have a tap root reaching down. It was hard to see and I didn't want to bother it too much if it did. I believe after this grow I'll be running all buckets again. Already this hand watering thing has me jittery. :biglaugh:

Did a water change today. Total ppm minus the beginning water's ppm left me with a nutrient ppm for each bucket as listed below:

SS1 - 384
SS2 - 374
AU1 - 389
AU2 - 384

The line up right now is Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect MGB, B52, Voodoo Juice, and Sensizym. 12ml each to 15L of distilled water. It was a good thing I decided to take a look at them today. One of the buckets(ss1) wasn't getting any air. The port from my air pump itself is dead. Luckily I had a spare airpump sitting around. Tomorrow I'll saddle up the mule and ride into town for supplies. So far the list includes a new 4 port air pump and a quart each of Sensizym and Hydroguard. We are having record highs during the days and it's driving my bucket temperatures far too high. Double dosing with the Sensizym and Hydroguard has proven effective in the past.

Another of the Mephisto family popped up this morning too. We now have M 1,2,4,6 above ground, with M3 close enough to say it'll be up for sure tomorrow morning. That only leaves the sour crack incubating. As soon as there is something worth showing I'll post photos. Roscoe keeps telling me "Pretty pictures, drive viewers" , but I'm fairly sure he just wants the extra traffic for the treats he gets under the table.

Peace out y'all, I'll try and keep you updated.....things are so blistering fast here. :biglaugh: :peace:

We have a full boat ladies and gentlemen. In addition to the bucket autos, ALL of the Mephisto beans are now above ground. I'm hoping to repot them into their final containers around Nov 15. Stay tuned, I'm still trying to round up the old mule to ride into town. Can never tell what I might find and bring along. :peace:

In order to get Roscoe to quit crop dusting me with his healthy diet farts, I've made an agreement with him to post some photos. Top to bottom are the Auto Ultimates, Six Shooters, and Mephisto 1 through 6. OK I know you have to go back a page to see what M1 etc was, so here's a quick reference for you. I hope you enjoy, as always photos are linked to larger versions, and questions, comments, and criticisms always welcome. :)

M1 -3Bears OG
M2 -Grape Crinkle
M3 -Skyrone Stomper
M4 -Skywalker
M5 -Sour Crack
M6 -Sour Stomper

Uuuh , i would love to see what ypu can do with AutoUltimates :P My first grow was autoultimate, and without doing anything besides feeding she turned out nice, but ive seen youre grows before and some ridiculously big buds, so will be watching :thumb:

I'm hoping to turn out a couple of nice plants for everyone Rahulik. The AUs aren't thriving like the SS though. Everything exactly the same for each of them, but the AUs don't have an even green coloring. If you look closely you can see they are speckled with yellow. I changed water two days ago so I'm hoping whatever was wrong is straightened out now. Time will tell.

Here, pass this around while I roll another. :passitleft:

Edit:
Noticed a new page started. To keep the reader from having to go back and search for it, the Mephisto line up is below again. By the next new page we all should be able to associate the M# with the correct strain. :) Well some of you will, my short term memory is gone, I'll need the chart.

What's a 'M#', dude? :passitleft: damn I think we been passing this around a little too much.

Seriously though, I've seen some grows in coco recently with the auto ultimates and they were big girls. The way you grow I expect it is going to be a big badda boom inside your tent.

I'm hoping for some big girls Hemi, but I'm worrying about the AU girls. Neither of them look well and I don't know why. I did a water change Sunday, it didn't seem to help yet. The temps inside my tent have been running 78 to 89 deg so maybe when the outdoor temp falls this weekend things will turn around. IDK. I'll ride it out and see what happens but it looks like the SS are going to be the stars of this grow. :peace:

Yo RM:passitleft:

look forward to seeing the M# strains go. One of these days I'll try some but for now I'll just watch yours:goodluck:

I can't help with recommending a cheese strain as I've been growing things that aren't cheese since I was smoking mostly that for about 10 years before starting growing. The strain I have found which scratches the cheese itch for me is Dr Feelgood.....is a Kush auto rather than a Cheese auto but it's full bodied flavour and gouchy hit remind me of some of the better bits of cheese I've had over the years (commercially grown UK stuff). Only takes about 60 days from seed to harvest too....in hydro:high-five:

60 days in hydro ?! :yikes: That's incredibly quick. I'll have to add that one to my list of future grows. :) Kushtie I can't recommend Mephisto Genetics enough. Not only is the product top notch, their customer service is too. I ordered 3 beans of 4 special release strains and received 5 beans each AND 5 freebies of another strain just for preordering.(ordered 12, got 25) I'm hoping for another special release next 4/20, I will be first in line screaming "take my money". :biglaugh: Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. :Namaste:

Friday photos. AU day 14, SS day 15. I still don't know what is wrong with the AU. Everything between them and the SS is as homogeneous as can be, yet they are still speckled. It almost looks like pH swings but I don't see how that could be. Anyone have a suggestion ?

If you like that one you should look at Medicann's Kush Fromage Auto. They claim 45 days and have seen someone grow it in soil with CFLs producing 1 oz in 45 days, but I ran one in DWC under LEDs and got 4 oz in 65 days.

Never seen that kind of color speckles before not sure what that might be, but knowing DP genetics they will grow out of it.

Aye, the last DrF I harvested bang on 60 days. It's a dwarf auto so it doesn't muck about getting big or anything but I thought you might like the timescales. The one I hope to harvest next week was showing amber trichome heads from day 52 (at least).

Don't worry, Mephisto will get an order from me one of these days. The similarly excellent service I've been getting from one of our site sponsors (female seeds.co.uk for the benefit of those outside the US) means I have seeds for loads of strains I want to try already.....my last order was for a 10 pack of DrF and I got another 4 strains from the same breeder as freebies so I got 20 seeds for the price of 10:high-five:

This is my first time growing anything from Dutch Passion. I hope you are correct Hemi. :) AU2 is looking better, and has more roots in the bucket than AU1, so I have resumed top watering #1 in hope that it is a simple starving for nutrients issue. They are due a water change tomorrow so the "ppm out" readings, and another three days should tell me what it's going to do.

Anyone else have $0.02 to throw in ? Advice and criticisms will be welcomed with a pass of the bong. RoorRip

Hey buddy, I just switched to a coco grow after my last disaster and it has me looking at the deficiency issues with that medium. I was wondering if what you have is just a slight cal deficiency? Not enough to show rust spots, but where they will be? Are you using RO/distilled water? I'm just talking here and am usually horrible at reading leaves.:volcano-smiley:

Oh, and Dutch Passion genetics are the best! In addition, they seem to take an active interest in the growers out there.

Plain old distilled tap water. Just took a morning look at everyone, the AU are out growing the SS in height but are ugly as hell. <shrug> I'll add some cal-mag at tomorrow's water change and see if that helps.
Yea I distill my own when I can't fill up the buckets with rainwater or snow. It's great water, but devoid of everything and hydro/coco demands cal/mag. Plus, it's pretty hard to overdo it, so is a safe place to start. I add 1 ml/l to all the water I make or collect.

It has nothing to do with dutch passion.

I have the same with a Northern Light Auto from Royal Queen Seeds. Compared to other seeds of mine, the cause could be :
- climate too cold when seed saw the light
- or too much root boost from the start
- or nothing, it is just like that, genetics etc.

Do you feel it could be something like that? Myself, i am not sure anyways, it could be something else.

There could be another cause but then, this cause didn't do anything to any of my other plants.

NL Auto from RQS with similar symptoms:

the little stone at the base of the stem is a small shungite stone. not sure it helps but it certainly can't harm.

Heya pa,, done my chores, maybe i got two cents from muckin out the barn pa,

The veriagated plant is not unseen in my labooratoory, not often, but i have seen it,, and as far as I can recall, pa, it grows out, no issues to the plant, but i have seen it carry on, partially, till harvest,, i an guessing genetics, you looked the wrong way when you planted er pa, maybe
