you test soil pH by watering with pH adjusted water and measuring the first run off with your pH testing device. when i flush i move my plants to the shower and put them on milk crates to raise them. you want pH 5.8 for hydroponic and soiless (peat moss and coco coir) and pH 6.5 for soil.

they do make a soil ph tester its damn expensive tho roughly run about 250 for ph probe meter for soil

I flushed again tonight, I measured runoff and it was perfect. Noticed roots near surface, added some soil to cover them. Loosened the soil some, guess I will wait it out. Top half looks great, flowering properly. 3 weeks into flower, anything I should be looking for? Tricomes look clear on all plants, no amber yet.

So far so good. I thnk my critical plant will be ready first, she is the one in back of the photos in the corner.
The nlx is still drying out, top looks good, I will add some water if she looks like the tops are drooping.
My two auto,s are in this room now, getting cramped evn with 6by8 feet of space.

My plants are close to harvest I think. Do I look for cloudy tricomes only? Hard to see even with a microscope, I can see them, just not if they are clear or cloudy. Don't see any amber, I do see some amber hairs? Not many, just a few.
My nlx has lost almost all big fan leaves, just dried up and went away. I think she is ready, the others seem to have bright shiny hairs, tris and may not be ready.

Also, I can't hold the micro steady enough to see tris, are you all removing a small bud leaf to test?

hairs could be anywhere from 50-80% red
best to check trichs tho you could harvest anywhere from cloudy with 10% amber to whatever your liking

most people harvest between 5%-30% amber trichomes. you need a 30x jewelers loop to see the trichomes and judge when to harvest. harvest at 5%-15% amber trichomes for a "head high" energetic effect and harvest at 30%-50% amber trichomes for a "body stone" sedative effect strain dependent.

My critical is ready, amber is showing. Other plants not really ready yet.

I harvested the critical and super critical, wow nobody told be this would be hours of work. Tools get so sticky too. All hung up to dry, trimmed and waiting on the other to finish.
