How to Decarboxylate Buds....
PlanetJ...
If you want more couch-lock from a meds-batch, you can decarboxylate the buds by putting them in a oven-proof and airtight container and 'baking' them for half an hour @ 122C/252F. What this does is first convert THCA to THC (this normally happens during smoking/vaping) and if you continue, it will convert most THC to CBN.

If you want the best high, you should probably harvest now. You could leave a branch or two on there, and see what more ambers does for you. Alternatively, you could pluck off a little popcorn bud, and quickdry it in an oven @ 50C and see where you are at now. Be aware that heat degrades THC as well .. so quickdry will make the couch-lock effect a bit more pronounced then a properly dried and cured version of the same harvest.

Nice share .....but i have a question about decarbing the weed for more of a couchlock........if by vaping or smoking the weed you stated that it decarbs then......if you do it in the oven first and then smoke or vape it wont you lose some of the potency.....now this is just my thinking but what happens to the decarbed bud when it is smoked or vaped....since essentially you are decarbing it twice
? not trying to step on your toes.....just that was new to me......King John did tell me to decarb it before making butter, but hadnt heard to increase couch lock......hopefully my question makes sense PlanetJ.

What happens when you decarb is that you convert (by heat) the THCA to THC. It 'activates' the THC .. you could then eat it and get high, whereas when you would eat normally dried and cured bud, you would not. At the same time tho, it degrades THC to CBN. CBN is responsible for what people call couch-lock .. the feeling of not wanting or able to get up any more.
Decarbing alters the chemical compounds in there, by heat. If you smoke or vape decarbed bud, you will just be inhaling a lot more CBN then you will THC. The temperature at which you decarb is a lot lower then at which you smoke or vape. If you decarb too long, you will have messed up your product.
So when you normally smoke, the main thing that happens is THCA to THC, and some THC to CBN. When you decarb first, you'll have taken care of the THCA to THC conversion, and while smoking you'll get a lot more CBN because the heat of the burning tip will conver a part of the present THC to CBN.
If you decarb even longer, there will be no THC left in there, and everything will have degraded to CBN .. and be more sedative then anything else.
It will not be less potent, just have a very different effect.
I have no toes to step on, and everything I 'know' is accepted from other sources after reasonable investigation .. it is not first hand knowledge. It works for me tho

1. An air tight container for the oven? What are you using? I can't think of something that's air tight and oven safe.
If you look at the graph on the site I linked, you'll see different temperatures and times .. I just put mine in a weck jar, and place it in the oven @ 223F/106C with an open lid for 10 minutes, to let air expand and warm .. then close it for the rest of the hour, and let it cool in the oven.
At that temperature, nothing much will happen with the rubber packing. It requires a stable oven temp tho, and not those cheap ass things that hover between 80 and 120 when you set it to 106
