Renegade's Hydro Flux - Featuring TwiLight Group's 432 Watt Spider COB LED

Just took the plunge and ordered one of these. Can't wait to test it out as well! Seeing these pics of it in action definitely helped me pull the trigger :)

GD, glad to hear that you are jumping in with LED. Is it your first??

Great read Renegade69, learning a lot about LED.

Welcome 60....

Where you been...lol.

Yea, LED seems to be the flavor of the month and with plenty of LED users out there the news is traveling fast. The old school boys are holding firm but even they are watching with a watchful eye.

Hard not to notice. Prices are low so no reason not to try one out.

Jump on in the waters fine...lol.

hello mate,

Baby grows fast and loves your light, you're mastering led utilization !!

can you obscur a bit the led when taking vertical pics ? it's hard to distinguish growing arms :circle-of-love:

Good job

Good luck

Just a quick update....

Untouched or molested. I was just surprised to see her tonight. We all saw the pics from yesterday morning.

She just loves this light...

Hands down...

This is what she looks like tonight.

As instructed by the Professor I'm not going to touch her till tomorrow. But I think we can all agree she will need it.

Professor???

She's flying along my friend :high-five: I learnt from mine not to be to aggressive with the defol, it slows the arms down too much. Just keep on top of it but don't go OTT :)

For sure Skunny...

I'm going to keep with the 2-3 day rule from now on.

Wow, so sensitivity. like a little girl, cut...:circle-of-love::circle-of-love:

Sorry friends, i love sobriety and prefer the first one !!

Hey Dr renegade, your first flux already looks like an academic grow, very clean and looks very strong !!

I can now follow a normal grow, i think a slowed a lot mine and it's great to see how fast it can grow even with fluxing training. I'm not a big fan of vaalserberg garden and think i'll change my nuts.

Can i ask you few questions ?

How is your daily PH variation ? can you tell me about your water parameters while you take fresh water and add nutrients ? i'm searching comparisons !

1. Water PPM and PH without Nut
2. PPM and PH with just added nutrients
3. and do you need to correct again to reach a 5.7/5.8 PH with your nuts ?

Sorry to ask all of that, thanks again

You give me way to much credit my friend ...that coming from a humble man. With that said I will always share what's in this head...lol.

PH fluctuations are a problem but I don't stress over them as long as they stay in range. I was (and still planning) going to switch my nutrients to Advance Nutrients (AN) brand of PH adjusted nutrients but also wanted to begin my flux so I kept with GH's brand. Simply because I had some left from last grow.

I have my measurements down to an art so when it hits 6.0 I simply add 2ml of down and I'm good. That normally brings it back down to 5.8-5.9. If it's ever over 6.0, say 6.3-6.5, I simply add 2ml of down at a time till it gets within range.

Although I no longer mention it my put back and change outs are the same.

First my tap water comes in at 7.0 and my PPM comes in at about 120's. Per one of the SME's here (I forgot who ) it's ok to use tap water because GH was designed with that in mind.

My measurements are based on per gallon and I simply measure them out and add lml of down per gallon. And that normally works well.

I'm feeding every 2 weeks and only going at 80%. I do a put back mid feeding of a gallon of fresh nutrients. Take out a gallon and add the fresh gallon. Regardless of water level.

Based on that 80% strength my PPM comes in around 950-975. Which is good because if I ran it at 100% it would be in the 1200-1400 range.

Why 80%? 1 plant in a 6 gallon res.

Why every two weeks? Because I didn't want to over fertilize. I'd rather let her tell me she's hungry.
Both of which equal less cost because I'm not using up my supplies.

How would I know? By monitoring the PPM. If my PPM is steadily dropping then I know she's feeding and may need to up her strength. Which I may have to do once my AquaShield arrived and it gets introduced this weekend at change out.

And oh ...I NEVER add nutrients or supplements directly to the res. For PH I add the down to a 12oz cup first then slowly add that to the res. and for my put back I mix up a gallon jug.

Long winded....sure but you know how I am.

That'll teach you to ask so many questions at once...lol.

i made a mistake cutting ends big leaves that slowed my baby, it was thi stage :

LA told me " leave some more foliage at the flux ends to generate quicker growth"

What do you think about that ?
