Well the change over worked pretty good. Swapping 1 plant for 2 usually would be a problem. This time it worked well because the Purple Afghani was so wide. I also got a chance to give the plant another look. I took 2 more small buds from the lower part of the plant. I really should have photographed them before I did. If I can pull this plant through. Pictures might have come in handy.
I still think there may be a chance to pull this plant through. Don't get me wrong, it is a hermie. Any seeds that come from this plant will sure have lots of hermie genetics. If by any chance, any of the other Purple Afghani plants have seeds they should be feminized/hermie. The only plant that would matter is right next to the P.A. It is the best Cinderella 99. All other plants really won't matter that much. To much chance of a hermie's to grow for no reason.
It all revolves around what happens to this plant over the next week or so. As I mentioned. All the hermie flowers are on the lower part of the plant. Same place random flowers pop up. If it stays this way. I may be able to harvest the upper portion of the plant. That is when any seeds from the C-99 matter. If I can finish this plant and it is special for any reason. Any seeds on the C-99 would become intresting. As I mentioned I feel that this one plant I am trying not to kill is a Purple Kush leaning phenotype. Just because it is different does not mean it will be better. Sometimes different is enough.
This grow, other than swapping lights around. I have not had anything I would think would stress a plant. Nothing that would cause a hermie. Temps have held steady between 70 and 83. I am glad I had the room to move this plant and watch it. Especially since this is a test run for the strain. In lots of case's hermies are a deal breaker. Some strains carry hermies and are still being used. That is because they are so good it becomes worth the hassle. I am only giving this strain that same chance. Everything else about Purple Afghani seems pretty good so far.
