Radogast's Hi-Brix Basement Grow - New Location - New Soil - New Experiences

Done with the reveg attempt

My poor little Lilly clone, 2 months old, stalled about a month ago, and is now in flower in the veg room.

I'm tired of flowering in the veg area, and I partially blame Bubba's Gift which has been revegging for 143 days.

I chopped off all the buds which I should have harvested and smoked 4 months ago.

20170920_145524-1.jpg

She had actually started to reveg about 6 weeks ago, but then she put on new buds and new foxtail buds out of dried old buds.

The gnarly girl might have 6-8 grams of buds at harvest.

20170921_132609-1.jpg

I tossed her into a space on top of cooking soil in the flower area

I snagged a clone of Bubba's Gift while she was putting out reveg leaves. The clone appears to be going into flower, but it has stayed alive in soil for 20 days so we will see if she grows up or not.

Thts so wierd bout ur reveg attempt maybe it's something to do with leaving to much bud on it so maybe the plant thought it was still in flower mode n was tryn to make buds and save it self versus jus revegging like normal idk n i do know my clones that I take from plants that are in flower that have alil bud still on them at first start putting out leaves with a bunch of frost on them and looks like it wants to start flowering but then after alil while idk they just start growing out the single finger leaves n go veg from there on out so maybe just wait alil bit longer for the clone and hopefully it works out for u gud luck brotha man with the flowering while in veg issue hope u get it worked out ive never seen some1 have this many plants start flowering in veg on them shit it seems like every other plant is givn u issues lol well im sure a great gardener as ur self will get in under control

She was having the single leaves coming out of the buds, bt then having 2 veg lights burn out about 10 days apart with the reduced light intensity, followed by a circuit breaker tripping for4 extra hours of darkness, erased any reveg progress. I have 4 fresh veg spectrum bulbs in veg now and I purchased a new circuit breaker that I will install as soon as the Living Room paint dries. The plants will go back to normal veg soon enough :)

Yea, plants in bud have... I have had plants go for two weeks with no power in bud, turned out killer. But in veg or trying to revert... nope. If you had got them back to veg before those problems, you'd probably be fine. Watch them.. might hermaphodite on you now.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out.

In the future, I hope not to do reveg or take clones from the flower area. For me, the results aren't worth the time and work involved.

Harvest Day - Ace Mix

Yesterday, I did a harvest and bud wash of my Ace Mix (free seed.) Today, I did trimming and a partial quick dry in the dehydrator.

I don't think I will delay trimming overnight again, too much drying happened.

Ace Mix - At 58 days and 40" tall, she looked like a total mess: 100% cloudy trichomes, aged pistils, and floppy branches - Just like her clone mother :)

20170926_112810-1.jpg

Some branches might have flopped over, but they still had frosty colas.

20170926_112816-1.jpg

Colas were large and airy.

20170926_112858-1.jpg

Ace Mix - Frosty, airy, easy to trim colas.

20170926_112914-1.jpg

Buds in the middle were just as finished as the top buds. Good trichomes except for the popcorn trapped in the center of the plant surrounded by branches.

20170926_112928-1.jpg

Hanging to dry after bud washing - the colas end of the row.

20170926_123418-2.jpg

Hanging to dry - the lower buds end of the row.

20170926_123431-1.jpg

Some lower buds and popcorn spent 2.5 hours in the dehydrator for a dry weight of 18.5 grams.

The colas and the rest of the lower buds are hanging to dry for several days.

Graduation Day - Ace Guawi

Ace Guawi (Guatemala x Malawi) went into the flower area to replace the harvested Ace Mix - with Grishnákh standing guard.

20170926_111434-1.jpg

Ace Guawi is 20" x 20" x20"

20170926_111447-1.jpg

Grown from a feminized seed, she hasn't shown pistils yet - so I expect a lot of stretch.

20170926_111511-1.jpg

My only other seedling in the room, UltraDawg, hasn't shown sex yet. I topped her 3 days ago.

Hey Rad! Congrats on the harvest! Looks like some nice buds and a pretty good haul too. The Guawi is looking great too. Nice work as usual. :high-five:

Today felt like business as usual, when usual meant things are going well. My grow is hesded for some slow weeks, but it's all good enough :)

The Ace mix looks like quite impressive hanging on the line. I like sativas. Makes my mouth water.

Ace mix came out great. I lost the clone of her in the recent mess ups, but I got two nice harvests out of her.

She's a smiley, happy, sativa, I like her :cheertwo:

Rad, Hash Hound raised the question about inhaling wax particles when using the hemp wick. It's something I'd been thinking about too, seeing all wax drippings on my bong bowl.

What are your thoughts on this? I know your family uses wicks, and has for some time. It raises no concerns with you? My gut feeling is its better than butane, but that's small consolation if what we're doing is polluting the lungs.

20"x20"x20" - sweet. How often do you get that kind of boxy demeanor going into flower?

Dam well good luck with all the repairs n sry to hear it all kinda went out at once n messed things up but u will get back under control soon enuf I have faith in ya lol hey I was just wondering how u cleaned ur cloner bucket i member u and bb14 havn a conversation bout using hydrogenperoxide method and a bleach method just cudnt remember what journal it was in 2 find it lol maybe it was mine n jus cudnt find it lol anyway how do u clean urs im going to clean mine nw n was guna use bleach like a half cup in a sink full of water n wash it out that way what do u think?? Any better ideas wud be greatly appreciated thank you brotha man

I have never once seen wax drippings on a bowl, so the idea of non-combusted wax never occured to me. If I had wax drippings, I would try another brand of hempwick. I don't know what brand we are using, probably Raw (because she said it was organic bees wax), but I don't know - I'll try to remember to ask the wife.

I am burning at least one candle pretty much 24 by 7 in my house, as have most Catholic churches in the last 2000 years. Inhaling wax smoke doesn't seem to be a health problem. Inhaling cannabis smoke doesn't seem to be a health problem. Inhaling tobacco smoke is a health problem that seems to have given other smoke a bad name.

The fact that hempwick reduces heat, (as well as butane,) is, in my mnd, a major benefit of hempwick.

BoBrown14 used bleach because he thought about it.

I used hydrogen peroxide because I saw it sitting under the sink downstairs and I didn't want to go upstairs to th laundry room to look for bleach and then read the label to figure out how much to use. I used H202 because I was lazy :)

The only reason I cleaned it was because I had it outside cloning outdoor plants and the racoons used it to wash their hands. Who knows where racoon paws have been?

Dam great harvest brotha looks tastey for sure do u ever make wax or edibles or anything cuz man tht shit u have on the line wud make some killer hash lol

I hardly ever get any trim worth saving. The only thing I have made this year was an infused olive oil (low strength) for rubbing on skin. 98% of the trichomes I grow go up in smoke or vapor.

I will be interested to see how the family like the ace mix. High hopes!

20 20 20. Reminded me of the peters pro plant food (NPK) I used stealth style in the 80s. Good timez. Good memories.

This is the second round for the Ace Mix seed I grew. From a growing perspective she is a favorite. 58 days in flower. Big strong branches most of the way. Sativa high. Easy to trim. The family rates this in the top tier, only a bit behind #1 choice Carnival. A touch in front of Delicatessen Lily because the Ace Mix has a giggly high.

So Keltic, Did you notice that my plants that flowered under CFL had less than 2" stretch when their buds were set and then I switched to HPS/COB? This was for 4 different strains. They were all small plants so they will have small yields compared to my big plants, but for a person with a low grow ceiling like you have, this is a very interesting thing.

20x20x20 was an interesting measurement for sure!

My goal when I started growng more sativas this year was 13x18x18.
My current goal is 18x18x18.

20x20x20 was the result of holding her in veg, trying to keep her compact, for 3 weeks after I thought she was ready to go into flower.

For some of the strains, Ace Mix was one, I'm going to try creating a low density center to avoid a mass of tiny branches with tiny buds in the lower middle of the canopy. In short, a square toroid (donut-shaped) canopy. Since a toroid (round or square in cross section) has significant properties in electromagnetism, I guess one could call this electromagnetic growing

That control in veg is what I did with my Devil's Carnival in flower right now. For weeks after I thought she was ready to bloom I didn't have anywhere to put her under the flowering lights, so I kept chopping her off. Here she is today.

IMG_294020.JPG

Much easier to control. She's stretching now, but I'm certain she won't reach 7', like her mother did. :laughtwo: This is a new way of training for me, and I think I like it. It worked with the Dark Slide too. I might be on to something. :cheesygrinsmiley:

From the flower time and the high you mention from Ace mix, I've been thinking it's either Nepalese jam or Bangi Haze. Both have the same Nepalese landrace that is in Willie Nelson. Nepalese jam is crossed with Jamaican and the Bangi Haze is crossed with Congo.
I've got Bangi Haze in the shoot myself as it's supposed to be a very hearty sativa leaning plant. Great for outdoors around us.

That sounds like something I will try, chopping once she has gone to alternating nodes won't create more budsites like LST or supercropping. Sometime I don't want more budsites.

The only chopping I did on Guawi was this one little piece 2 days before she went into flower. I was going to plant her, but the only pot I have ready is a hempy and I want to make sure I read a bit of your Hempy Headquarters thread before I risk my one genetic copy.

I'll watch for your smoke report! I like the effect !

Nice roots Rad! She'll grab the hempy medium wonderfully and fill your pot in no time. :high-five:

With the Devil's Carnival I may end up with about the same number of budsites. This plant isn't playing by the rules. :laughtwo: The sites I'm getting look to be more productive in a tighter structure. I certainly hope she gives more than an ounce, but the buzz is something special, so I'll be happy whatever. I kept her 12" from the lights, and every time she got close I let it grow out a bit and then chopped back to the last node.

I had no idea what I was doing. It was purely instinctive. :laughtwo:
