Radogast's Hi-Brix Basement Grow - New Location - New Soil - New Experiences

great advice by the gang here.

here's exactly what I do for first run soil:

veg per directions....GE and Transplant drenches with water in between......deep soaks. Let them get fully dry between soaking. I tilt the pots to drain as much water out after the soak as possible. just like the directions.

Prune, leaf wash and transplant into 7gal black round nursery pots, Transplant drench. let it go dry like in veg once. the water with one gallon, half top half in the saucer.

Next. GE: 1 gal with Tea per plant half top half bottom. As it uses the moisture and top soil dry out I dribble maybe a quart on the top. when container is light BUT BEFORE wilting. I do the next drench.....

Usually one more Transplant or a Super Drench on some. Top dress Recharge EWC after this Trans/Super drench.

Then water....again a gallon half and half, top and saucer.

Next Cat Drench.....one gallon 50/50.
Cat Drench again.....50/50
Water. Again 1 gal 50/50.........anyone bored yet? This is easy folks

Then GE. 1gal 50/50

Then water.....etc
Foliars weekly.

Yep, I put that on her 3x5 card and will follow the instructions.

For the first time in Hi-Brix flower, I needed a plan to follow. I have one now :)

Thanks for dropping by... You are most welcome.

For the rest of you ...

GaBoy420 inspired me to do a minor defoliation to make a joke on his thread :) Repeated here cuz I thought I was hilarious  and modest. Don't forget modest :)

The 5 PM forecast for Middle Earth is ...

mild defoliation in Fanghorn Forest causing intermittent green showers in the Gap of Rohan and parts of Gondor.

A word about Bubba's Gift

For about 2 weeks, I've been wondering which plant was creating such strong aromas in my veg room. I picked up Bubba's Gift to water her, and my nose was filled with the smell of a grow room. It's Bubba's Gift.

From the Humboldt Seed Orginization website
The flavor profile is one of immense proportion.* Carbon filters are highly recommended and if you live in more discreet settings, it is recommended to have another filter on hand. Strong and dominant notes of tropical fruit accented by a pina colada overtone finish with more subtle hints of fuel and spice. The complexity is one you constantly want to examine with your nose.
*Their boldface, not mine :)

She has the aromatic strength of a flowering girl from just her pre-flowers.

plus ... A look at the two Ace seedlings

Lily (her leaves have always been a bit wavy, so far)

Your operation is so similar to mine! I love seeing it all come together from the start and I must say, it is such a pleasure to read your posts with all of your accurate spelling and punctuation! Awesome! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks! :)

I would have saved a lot of trouble if I knew my grow operation would turn out more like yours. Maybe if you had started your own grow journal (hint)

I never took grammar in school (I got skipped ahead to reading Shakespeare instead of parsing sentences.) I have read a lot of books though :)

I'm a big fan of the Oxford Comma (Seriously, How can you list the 3 most popular musical styles without using an Oxford comma before the "and" ending the list?) I'm faking the rest of my punctuation.

Last night I was watching the Netflix Series "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" starring Neil Pattrick Harris. They mentioned the Wesleyan Semicolon. I never heard of that rule before, and I'm not even sure if the rule is meant to be taken seriously, but the curiousity that led me to look it up has definitely helped my punctuation.

BTW: I recommend the Netflix series highly. To quote episode 3 "In all honesty, I prefer long-form television to the movies. It's so much more convenient to consume entertainment from the comfort of your own home." :)
I would add 'they also get a chance to more fully develop the story in the extra time.'

Haha, another reason to be here. Sucking all the pixel knowledge! I gotta read some more English titles. Peace upon the Middle Earth! :Namaste:

Ok Rad, I'm all caught up now! You've done a lot of work sir! If the invitation is still open, I'll take the comfy chair. Looking great and I'm learning a lot about this HighBrix system from watching your grow. Might have to give it a try one of these days, but I would run it outdoor if that's possible.

My fiancée and I actually just finished the Netflix "Series of Unfortunate Events" and we think it's creepy how similar NPH is to Jim Carey! Might even prefer his antics lol. If you haven't, give a documentary called "The Imposter" a watch. I promise it's great, and it's on Netflix!

Cat pictures

According to :420: rule changes, cat pictures are now allowed.

so ... I guess that means not only in an off-topic thread. .. I'm really not sure.

This is our cat, River, 3 minutes after installing my wife's new desk (picked up at auction Saturday.)

20170129_154957-1.jpg

He glanced outside at a passing sound

20170129_155006-1.jpg

Apparently the sound caused temporary demonic posession :)

20170129_154933-1-1.jpg

We brought River home from the shelter about 1 week before we decided to move. His entire 8 months with us we have been packing, unpacking, painting, and moving furniture. He considers these to be normal events worthy of investigation and constant monitoring.

More cat photos

My wife also bought a 12" Bast statue at auction Saturday.

20170129_190402-1.jpg

She had a missing ear tip and a patch out of the other ear. I took a trip out of my comfort zone and used some drywall joint compound to patch the ears.

20170129_190158.jpg

With a little Pane's Gray and light green arcrylic, she looks almost as good as new/ancient.

20170130_114236-1.jpg

I'm quite proud of my 45 minute repair - now back to painting house parts.

20170130_114249-1.jpg

If the first pic was in black & white, to me it would look like it was taken in the era your house was built, the way the cat is posing on the antique desk. Nice job on the statue! :thumb:

I thought it was 1940s desk at first viewing, but it's actually a 2008- everything works !!! I'm a sucker for flame mahogany and my wife is a fan of nooks, so we are very happy with the purchase.

Thanks for the statue comment. I posted because I tried something outside my usual routine and it worked.
I need to remind my brain it is good at 3D modeling and carving. I'm so bad at visualizing that I forget I can manipulate shapes. Posting the statue was therapeutic for me. :)

GaBoy, its very possible!..the ingredients Doc uses in his kit are for regular HB farming. Doc crafted the ingredients to fit our needs. :thumb:

I watched the documentary "The Impostor" on Netflix. I also just finished watching 2 seasons of FX's "The Bridge" on Hulu.

In "The Bridge" the people of El Paso and Jaurez are portrayed and average to smart and mostly in desparate circumstances.
In "The Impostor" all the Texans involved appear to be dumb as rocks - as told in their own words.

Good thing I've met Texans that don't fit that profile. Then again, I've never been to El Paso or San Antonio.

Thanks for the recommendation. I enjoyed "The Impostor."

Right here bro!! :Namaste:

Yes I believe it will morph BACK into trading (still active actually)... similar to cannabis clubs and what not.

The beginning of the governmental (and BIG AG) control process: Control the seeds, control the market.

It's been done and done and done... Monsanto is in the game 110% already. AKA Scotts AG ... investing heavily into chems, lights, soil and logistics for Big Canna.

Big AG is ripe for the canna harvest... prolly our way into repeal of prohibition, nation (and world) wide. The almighty dollar = the only thing many folks seem to agree on.

You want the best herb: find a grower, and be a friend! (trade mark) FTW :high-five:

Ready set: Rad GROW!

4 real man this has me worried I think this month I'm guna tryn find sum gud seeds n stock up

Welcome. This grow is just starting to settle into a plan. (I started out with different ideas.)

My grow garden is a basement room with stone and brick walls and blacked out windows.
Inside is a 6x8' wood platform to raise the plants off the concrete floor.
On top of the platform are a 4x6' veg area (Veg Stall) and a 4x6' flower area (Flower Stall). The ceiling beams are about 7' tall.

The Veg area has a single table with a 4 bulb CFL light above:

3 feminized plants aged 3 months (HSO Amherst Sour Diesel, HSO Bubba's Gift, and AMS Borderliner,)
2 feminized plants aged 1 month (ACE Lily and ACE Ace Mix,)
2 non-fem seedlings under 4 days old (Tangerine Widow and AMS Hawaiian Skunk,)
2 female clones aged 2 days (AMS AK47 Xtrm)
6 non-420 garden plants, and
2 lady bugs.

The Flower area has a 3x4' plastic flood tray with 1 600W HPS light above:

1 AMS AK47 Xtrm (2 days in flower.) She is mother to the clones in veg.

Just now, I ordered a 600W light bulb for my second HPS hood in the flowering room.

I also ordered more Pro-mix HP w/myco and worm castings to mix up more Doc Bud's Hi-Brix soil.

Outside the Veg and Flower stalls, I have a comfy recliner with a reading lamp, stereo, and 3 empty plugs to connect your phone charger. No one seems to be using the chair, maybe it's the smell of young cannabis plants. Feel free to settle in.

Hello,

We have both been the rounds with soil. My flower room is also 4X6 and near 8 foot tall. That is inside a 10X12 room along with everything needed to keep a grow going.

I have a kit mix that has been cooking for about ten days now. If you don't mind, I will tag along.

I jumped around the first and last few pages. I should get caught up soon.

Best
