First Brix Foliar

First Brix Foliar - 1ml/30ml (2 oz) - 2 oz was the perfect amount - Thanks weenmeoff!

Amherst Sour Diesel and AK47 were dry.

I had no memory of whether last time was a water or a feed so I soaked in 1ml GE + 0.2ml Tea per each 1 gal pot.

I need to come up with a recording system to 'remember' what I did last time. The Mrs. says we have unused cork boards and white boards in the hallway.

Hey Rad! Glad I could return the favor for all the help you've given me. It does look like you only had 1oz/30ml of water.....?

For the longest time I was using my journals to record feeding and other things but it was a major PITA (hi major) to go back through it. Now I just record everything on paper, much easier!

I have around 5 to 6 working pages like this.

It really helps in keeping track of multiple strains and clones, in multiple sizes of pots. I don't see how you could do a perpetual without employing something of that sort.

Your setup is looking great Rad!

Challenge accepted! Great stuff here! :Namaste:

yeah - 30 ml, 2 tbsp, 1 oz of water - 1ml of Brix

I did paper, but I never went back to read my notes (except harvest weights.)

For this run I'm following other people's experimental results - not making my own.
I'm not really trying to fine tune my techniques and treatments comared to previous grows - just responding to the suggestions made here :)

I recieved a package of Lilly from ACE seeds in spain today.

The only thing stealthy was "Greeting Card - 5 euro" on the customs declaration.

I'm not ready to do a perpetual in Hi-Brix soil

I just barely decided to do 2 runs at a time about 3 weeks ago when environmentals forced me to start building my growing stalls !

I just figured out how to mix up my first foliar yesterday - and I'm not even sure I got my 1ml Brix / 30ml water right!

Last watering was the first time I had 4 plants on 3 different watering schedules - which kind of points out it is time to keep trck of things

Don't get me wrong, it's great to be growing agin. I love imaginging how the grow rooms will look.

This Doc Bud's HiBrix system is working better for me than I have done before, but I'm not doing it justice yet.

I might go perpetual once I get a two consecutive good runs under my belt. Then again, if 10 weeks veg/up to 10 weeks flower works out, I'll probably just run 2 batches at a time. The main reason I was went perpetual (harvests every month) was that I had long and unpredictable veg times. Harvesting in batches every 8-12 weeks will suit me just fine :)

You can also try 12/12 from seeds, just to fill in some blanks. Good luck man, looking stellar so far! :Namaste:

12/12 from seed feels wrong to me.

I can't quite bring myself to time the lighting of a plant in such a way as to produce the minimum possible yield.

I once placed basil outside in the spring and had it go immediately to flower - I felt bad.

It let's them run kind of like autos but I'm with you. It's a lot tougher to keep good genetics going without veg time.

It is very similar to autoflowers, the plant grows roots and then flowers after a month or so. But hey, I get it go with what feels good to you. :Namaste:

This is the second time I've seen this, and the second time I thought

"That looks like what I should try."

Thanks for sharing again. Maybe this time I'll do it.

Good evening Rad. I'm here with my report on my blood pressure readings following the administration of cannabis. JimmyJ and I got into a discussion over here a week or so back and we did an experiment, tracking our readings for one session a day over a week. Since this is where we had that discussion and you were talking about your BP, I thought this would be a good first place to drop this info. I'll be sharing it in a couple other places.

I hope you don't mind if we clutter up your journal a bit. Jimmy will be by sometime tonight with his report.

I went with one reading before and then followed the buzz (six hits on a bong) with readings at 5 minutes, 15 minutes and 30 minutes. My results:

BP Pulse

12/2
Before: 126/85 - 54
5min: 116/79 - 60
15 min: 108/73 - 57
30 min: 126/78 - 57

12/3
Before: 102/82 - 67
5 min: 98/71 - 66
15 min: 104/63 - 64
30 min: 106/62 - 65

12/4
Before: 102/72 - 69
5 min: 102/68 - 61
15 min: 97/72 - 64
30 min: 107/66 - 66 * I was laughing really hard right before this one.

12/5
Before: 109/61 - 59
5 min: 100/68 - 60
10 min: 99/60 - 62
30 min: 92/62 - 64

12/6
Before: 126/69 - 75
5 min: 86/66 - 74
15 min: 86/69 - 75
30 min: 89/62 - 80

12/7
Before: 112/63 - 72
5 min: 84/62 - 85
15 min: 97/78 - 74
30 min: 86/63 - 77

12/8
Before: 93/66 - 74
5min: 90/65 - 76
15 min: 87/68 - 77
30 min: 87/59 - 70

Two things became apparent. First, you get an appreciable drop in blood pressure after a buzz, and then it slowly begins to creep back up. The second thing I noticed is that for all the cannabis sativa I consume I'm pretty chill. :laughtwo: Those are some decent readings and they stayed fairly consistent.

Aside from the drop in pressure immediately following, I couldn't discern any other patterns after just a week's worth of readings. This was fun to do, once I figured out how to remember to do it. Lol!

The big takeaway? If you have low BP, use caution. Other than that, try not to take a big hit and jump up to run off somewhere. Your body might have other ideas. :laughtwo:

+ reps on being a human guinea pig

Clutter here is merely virtual. I love not having to pick up after myself (I do pick up after myself in real life  )

That's good to hear. I'm sure the missus is very happy about that. :laughtwo: Thanks for the reps.

Here are my readings. I recorded 5 days worth. I took 4 bong hits for each test. I was pretty nervous the first day, thinking the worst of what cannabis was going to do to my bp. I think that caused the "white coat" syndrome which made it spike. What I noticed with mine was that it was mostly lower after smoking, but my pulse was consistently higher. I wasn't as precise with my timing as SweetSue but I think this gives a pretty good idea of how my system reacts.

I envy your bp SweetSue, I am on bp meds and still never get readings that low. :thumb:

This morning, I added some bent electrical wires to reinforce the LST lessons.

What I do is select the twistier end of spare electical wire and push it deep into the soil below the area I want to hold. Once the wire is in the soil, I bend it over a branch I want to hold. (This wire has a hook because that's how I hung them between uses.)

20161210_103429-1.jpg

I put in two wires to hold down the two leaders and encourage lower branches to catch up.

A fuzzy look at the garden. The taller 3 girls are about 8" tall. I made the stalls a little too narrow for comfortable sitting and playing - at least that is how it feels right now. I guess it is to be expected when my new veg area is about 1/5 of my old veg area :)

20161210_104717.jpg

The environmentals are in a better range now that they are in an enclosed space. The outer room was 58 F 45% RH this morning.

Sweet looking plants you have going there Rad. Isn't it cool how uniformly vigorious they are in this soil? Even with problems my Carnival's going to excell.

It's so good to watch you grow again.

Hey Rad! Looking great, I gotta get some wires too they look very handy for early training. :Namaste:
