Radogast 2016 - The Neverending Growing

Bravo Radogast! Anyone with extra panels should definitely mix spectrum of HPs with LED. I will continue to do so! The plants love it.

I hate to think how much bigger my girls can get with the added LED's  I have heard it gives a much better trich production rate though, might think about it after my current one is done :thumb:

Clones are the Center of the Cycle

I've given up on trying to draw this well (manual or digital) so I am releasing this as the original sketch.

Clones are at the center of my gardening cycle

You draw a little better than me lol! I'm not an artist. I get the picture though. One thing about the oil is the everclear can ignite around 175. The nuwave lets me dial it in to exactly 170. The rice cooker thing is scary because you cant control the temp. I'd steer clear of that. :high-five:

My wife's Magical Butter Machine has a 160 F setting. If only it had a see through lid so I could tell when the evaporation rate slowed way down. :)

I have considered the Megahome Essential Oil Distillers - and a measuring cup to show the amount of alcohol recovered. It could pay for itself in recovered everclear after 6-7 runs. And there are other herbs to turn into essential oil. But I am skeptical about it's lack of temperature control :)

Probably best to get the nuwave :)

Borderliner Iman - 27 days in the flowering room

I took a look at my girls in flower, and one of them seemed to be forming trichomes on the base of leaves up close to the buds

Borderliner Iman - 3' tall - 27 days in the flowering room. I'd really like to get more than 2 oz after harvest and dry.

More trichomes showed in the flash photo than appear to the naked eye :)

Tonight in the Garden

Tonight is a typical spray night with 1% neem oil (1 tsp neem oil in 2 cups warm water + soap.)

Come with me in a quick tour around the garden.

Clones - 3 clones from girls in the Flowering Room, 2 clones from girls in Late Veg

20160324_220431-2.jpg

Early Veg - 2 clones building roots in 4" pots, 3 girls in large pots, 1 seed underground, 1 spider plant, 1 tester.

20160324_220458.jpg

The scrawny girl in the middle is a "tester" because I prune, then guess where the new growth will come in strongest. I won't flower her.

Late Veg - 6 plants, 3 near the 24" line: Caramelicious Latrice Royale on the left, White Widow Ava and Girl Scout Cookies Georgia on the right.

Flowering - Spindly girl Lachesis was tucked into a corner under the light yesterday - I almost fed her to the worms, but the light is already running.

Snowcap Stacy and Borderliner Iman, 4 weeks - AK47 Bonnie, 2 weeks - Free seed Lachesis, 1 day

So, you're using the tester plant to train your cultivator spidey senses? That's brilliant Rad. I would have never thought of that on my own.

I love the garden. The random spider plant ain't bad either.

The white dust on the leaf close to the bottom of the picture looked a lot like mold today. Another clone has similar white powder on the stalk. I removed the two leaves on the theory it might be powdery mildew. Humidity is high in the garden room room and especially near the cloner bucket.

I have some research to do.

Hmmm.... I saw that and thought it must be foliar residue. I'm hoping you're suspicions are wrong Rad.

I'm starting my druidic chant...

Just catching up, things are looking great. Stella is a special one.
Hope it's not the PM! :Namaste: I've run hybrid LED-HPS lighting for the last three, and love it. As a caution, your LED outriggers might be running hotter than their thermal design, due to being so close to the HPS. I've had to repair a few panels doing this, and now I make sure I have good clearance and circulation. They might be fine, but I'd rather say something than not. :volcano-smiley:

OK all caught up.

I just have to throw my backing behind BB14's IPM recommendation and recipe from page 4. Beyond the pest control I believe you will highly benefit from the Pro-tekt and Ful-Power. Your side by side yield comparison recently of the clones (one with stalk larger than pen, one smaller) is an indicator to me that silica could be very lacking in your soils and will probably help quite a bit. And Ful-Power should be in your kit already anyhow.

PeeJay helped with the soil issue, I think bobbrown14 can help on the the yield a bit. I know you're a minimalist, but please seriously reconsider it. I was really hoping to see more out of that tangerine dream.
