Radogast 2016 - The Neverending Growing

Just catching up, things are looking great. Stella is a special one.

Turns out Stella is not Stella - I had her double tagged. She is Tangerine Dream Ghita :)

Hope it's not the PM! :Namaste: I've run hybrid LED-HPS lighting for the last three, and love it. As a caution, your LED outriggers might be running hotter than their thermal design, due to being so close to the HPS. I've had to repair a few panels doing this, and now I make sure I have good clearance and circulation. They might be fine, but I'd rather say something than not. :volcano-smiley:

The possibe PM was only affecting an unplanted clone and a recently planted. I yanked the tiny plants and sent them down the garbage displosal.

As for HPS overheating LED - good catch! I'll find some spacer/bumper material to create a gap between the HPS hoods and the LED enclosures. When I measured, the hoods themselves were 8 degrees hotter than ambient air 18" below the hoods - so proximity to the hoods is fine. A lip of the unit is in direct light of the HPS, so a spacer will move the LEDs enclosure out of that direct light.

Good call. I'm on it!

OK all caught up.

I just have to throw my backing behind BB14's IPM recommendation and recipe from page 4. Beyond the pest control I believe you will highly benefit from the Pro-tekt and Ful-Power. Your side by side yield comparison recently of the clones (one with stalk larger than pen, one smaller) is an indicator to me that silica could be very lacking in your soils and will probably help quite a bit. And Ful-Power should be in your kit already anyhow.

PeeJay helped with the soil issue, I think bobbrown14 can help on the the yield a bit. I know you're a minimalist, but please seriously reconsider it. I was really hoping to see more out of that tangerine dream.

:circle-of-love:

I have been wanting to follow Bobrown's idea for awhile. I've been poor. This is the final harvest without adding Pro-tekt and Ful-Power (or maybe TM-7 humic/fulvic - I have some on hand.)

The Tangerine Dream was small and leggy. Her canopy was the size of an 8" pie tin. Lovely, lovely smoke. I'm running another one :)

Can't wait to see you run it. I'm popping two fems of it soon for outdoor. Are you getting clones from the same source as last time?

The Tm7/cytoplus I don't consider as replacements for the Ful-Power. I consider them separate and sort of complementary. I have a little pouch of the cyto I have used from time to time.

Winding down the grow

My wife and I have decided that this is the summer I retire. We are selling the house and moving away.
We would like to have the house on the market by June - which arrives in 62 days.

In order to show a house in 60 days, it's time to shut down the grow. Rather than wait and fret, I took the plunge today.

5 of 6 girls in Late Veg (1 casualty) moved to flower. WW Ava(right front) and CAR Latrice Royale(left front) are unsexed.

The 2 largest girls in Early Veg were moved to flower(3 grams is 3 grams.) The others will be released from the room.

4 (20-24") girls + 1 (12") girl in Late Veg were moved to the Flowering Room under the left light (whch had been off.).

2 smaller girls in Early Veg were tucked in the middle of the flowering room between the lights

The 4 girls under the right light remain the same.

The Remains of the Grow

For presentation purposes, I'll clean up the right side of the room and store my potting soils, boxed lights, etc. until moving day.
There are already hanging hammocks and wind chimes in storage there :)

No waiting! Everything must flower - now!

Tagerine Dream Ghita is a 1st gen clone of the one that just finished flowering. I took a generous sized top for a clone in mid-veg.

:thedoubletake::jawdropper:

Yeah, I guess so. Where will the rabbits, errr, ummm, wind be taking you?

After looking at New Zealand, central valley Costa Rica, beachfront Belize, Ecuador, central California, Oregon, Portugal, the south of Spain, and Mexico's central plateau --- our focus is along the Mississippi River between Illinois and Iowa.

So this just means you can throw yourself into helping newbies such as myself!

Hey Rad, I'm all caught up.

CONGRATULATIONS! on the retirement my friend. I was going to say how awesome BBs foliar feed/IPM is, but no sense wasting the cash when you're shutting down. I've been using it religiously every 3 days and my plants have never looked better. I also started using the Fulpower in my watering cycle. GOOD stuff. "along the Mississippi River between Illinois and Iowa" must be absolutely beautiful to compete with the others in your research. I'm hoping to retire to Kauai one day, but that's a ways away and very spendy.

Oh ya, your ladies are looking stunning as usual.

Pretty sure that's the Ohio River. It meets the Mississippi a few hours drive from me at Illinois/Kentucky/Missouri. Mississip comes down between Missouri and Illinois through St. Louis where the Illinois river joins.

If you are looking in that general area, I could turn you on to my next real estate purchase area. Freaking mansions/plantations one after another literally over growing. All for sale. Basically an economically dead area and PERFECT for, ummm, people like me. And maybe you too.

So this just means you can throw yourself into helping newbies such as myself!

 I hadn't thought of it that way !

See, I was focusing on the time spent on downsizing, packing up a 4 bedroom house for an interstate move, prepping and selling a house, changing schools, and buyng a new house during tax seasonwhile the family is freaking out about a move.

I should have been thinkng about the 10 minutes a day I save by not having a Veg Area :)

Close as the river flows :)

Upstream from where the Ohio joins the Mississippi, upstream from where the Missouri meets the Mississippi, where the Rock River flows into the Mississippi and gives it's name to the Rock Island Railroad system. A crossroads of rail, river, and highway where the beer and music flow freely most nights of the week.

We have family connections and friends in the area.

+1 ^^^ - Go slow with TM-7. It's in my kit and I don't use it any more. I may get it out again and try it. I think there's some strains that can handle it better than the ones I've been running.

Hey there Rad - good to see you keeping it green my friend. All your ladies are looking very healthy and looks like yer killin it with buddage again. Good luck with this round, or rounds. I like your perpetual deal here. I think you're kicking my ass again in the plants department. You've been busy. Wow :goodjob:

Just a thought I had looking at your new lighting scheme. Ask your wife to take a look and get her opinion on safety, if you haven't already. A 2nd opinion always is a good idea. I switched to LED even tho I got better yields with HID. Peace of mind worth price paid.

Looks like you are getting your IPM regimen down, have your girls told you how happy they are?? They sure look pretty!!

Good job buddy - keepin it green! :Namaste:

No joke go slow with it. And I think you may be right with different strains being able to handle it better. My blue dream wasn't happy about it at all. Fruit punch seemed to like it. My blueberryxwhite widow didn't blink, burp or even thank me. They are all in the same soil mix and get pretty much the same treatment over all.

The TM-7 and Neem oil were a result of me going to a website, loading up a shopping cart with neem cake, some sort of humic/fulvic liquid, soil amendments and 7 gallon GeoPots - but then I went off and looked at GeoPots to see if they were as good as SmartPots (they are better) and checking prices --- so of course my cart expired and I filed up with the same stuff EXCEPT neem cake became neem oil (a fortuitous mistake) and I also purchased TM-7 (I have yet to find a use.)

Normally my purchases fall somewhere between frugal and parsimonious - that day had wasteful spending :)

since you sat patiently through my confession ....

All I can do is show my wife pictures (which I have.) 6 months after the ankle fracture, the basement stairs are still too much of a challenge for her.

The ratchet hangers supporting the hood are rated at 150lb each. I hung a 200lb weight (me) from each screw eye at installation.
The ballance between the LEDs is surprisingly stable. The weakest point is the final knot in the ropes.
I will check them in the next 2 days. Thanks for looking out for me.
