Quad12 JustMeds RDWC Build

I hear you on the big amount of nutes needed for 40 gal, I'm doing 25 at change time and adding 5 more mid week, and from this last change it will probably be 7 or 8 mid week because she was about to start sucking air!:laughtwo:

If your running a tea and something like Z7, you can go longer but it makes it tough to figure out what is being used by the plant and what is lacking until it shows up on the leaves.

I've heard a lot of people say that OTM. I run 17-20 days between res changes. I use 20 gallons at change and 15 gallons top up between changes. I mix between 1.25-1.44 EC in the initial change and in the top up water. As I think your aware I run a GrowBoss monitor and am able to check many times a day. My PH, PPM's and EC don't barely twitch during a water cycle. At about 17-20 days my PH will start drifting quickly and that tells me its time for a res change. No harm to the plants and not necessary to wait for the plants to be affected.

Now the trick to being able to do this is to know what the max rate the plants will feed and drink at so your water consumption and nutrient consumption never change when you add your top up water. Balanced, water and nutes in...water and nutes out. The max rate, you find out early in veg by increasing the nutes till you poison the plant then back off to the previous recipe.

Sounds a little daunting but its simple and works really really well, and your always feeding to their max. I've never seen any adverse effects using this method.

As expensive as good nutes are, that makes sense, of course the nute seller wants you to change every week...more $$ in their pocket!

I have went as long as 11 days, most were between 8- 10 days, in veg. I was running 6.0 PH and in 7 days both the PH and PPM's would drift down, PPM's average dropped 100 PH down to 5.6-5.7 area, the 20 gallons in the system were enough until the transition week when I first had to add.

Now in bloom its 25 gallons and +5 mid -week, this last change went 11 days and I added 5 with full nutes and 5 with just PH'd water trying to correct the problem on one of the Widow gals.

I guess I have been playing it safe because I can't look into the buckets to actually see the roots because of the scrog, I keep an eye on the GrowBoss and res, for signs of problems, when I wipe it out after a change, the towel is still white with a little tan because of the Tea.

The thing that really freaked me out was when I started to add the Bloom Optimizer which is 1-2-5 Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potash and I had to PH up!...a couple weeks after that I started to see problems with the one plant.

In a few more weeks, its time to run another batch and play & tweek some more!:laughtwo:

I been adding both based on the Guardian. I did not follow much of a schedule for these test plants. I had the PPM all the way to 1400. I now have it down to 1000. I was surprised they took it with out much burn.... LOL

Thought I should throw up some update pics of the plants.

Cycle is 16/8 but I'm afraid I maybe left the light off too long and triggered the flowering stage? Is that possible?
They could be auto flower the seeds were given to me, I have no clue what they are. I was also thinking this but then again I don't know much about auto flowering seeds

I'll need a minute to go through my notes. I have three but only two are showing these pistils I'm wondering if I wait it out of the third also shows
I use T5 fluorescent 16/8 and they sprouted June 4th not sure how to determine when the veg stage would begin

Thanks, I was just hoping to get them a little larger. Would you happen to know how much veg time is too much veg time

Seems everyone that is growing photo's are running 6 weeks average in veg, on my current grow it was 58 days from soak to flip...I started counting veg time when the roots were popping out of the rooters, some start as soon as they pop.

If they are showing pistils, its time to put them at 12/12 or they will start to re-veg and that could lead to problems with the harvest quality down the road.

They will stretch like mad in flower, some of mine grew 24-26 inches with-in 4 weeks.
