Quad12 JustMeds RDWC Build

Still no air stones. Looking good other then trying to get light distance figured out. Was at about 24-26" and full throttle, got some leaf curl. Moved it to 30" and half now. Should those leaves re-hydrate and loose the edge curl? or do I have to look at my screw up till I harvest?

Here is some new pics.

You can see the little mesh cup between tent and cells in last picture. Got 4 of those to place over drains in cells after this run. Right now they are letting fresh air in from lower vents in tent around sides of cells.

Here are some updated pics. What are the signs you don't have enough O2? I am wondering what I should be looking for. They are looking good, I think. The one in the front left has grown 12" in 14 days.

That last one just stopped growing. It has 4-5 buds on it that are about as hard as rocks but very small. Both of the Northern light plants seem to have some strange genetics.

Root issues are what you would first notice with a lack of O2.

The roots look great. Looks like white cotton candy. The 2 Rigley plants on the left, if I lift them up to much its a pain in the ass to get the roots all back down the hole... LOL

They say water has to be pretty much stagnant before the DO is to low to support at least some plant life. They also say that plant growth is enhanced until about 90% saturation and then stays constant beyond that point. My guess is that even just circulating the water like you are would yield the 90% mark but who knows for sure. Introduced air eliminates the possibility of a DO deficiency and ensures that DO is at least at the 90% saturation level all the time. Low DO is just one less thing to worry about.

Here is the update for today. I am starting to think I got some really strange free seeds. I think I may have Frankenstein here. It was shorter but looking good. It seems to think now is a good time to send branches from way low on the main up to start flowering. They are real stretchy also. If anyone has some thoughts on this I am all ears.

Then there is a root porn update on that plant.

Ok, I was thinking again... After looking at the roots from that little plant.

Let me try to explain and then give me some thoughts.

If under the lid where the net pot goes, I was to anchor a bag made of the landscape fabric of roughly the same size as the tub, but cheat it away from the drain a few inches. Make sure the jet is blowing down into the bag not the tub. I know they say when used outside the roots can go through it in time. I am just looking for a fix that would have to work or slow them down from plugging up the drain.

Hey JM I am here, I was rubbernecking on your journal for awhile when you were building it, looks like it is working well, not all caught up since you started using it...have you had any issues with it?:thumb:

Welcome to the build OTM. I will admit I rubbernecked your thread for about 2 or 3 of your post and just knew I had to get on board. What you have is so special, Congrats.

Now on to your question. I have had no problems at all. Everything has ticked along like a clock. If I had to list a CON right now it would be 40 gallons of Nutes to deal with. It seems very waste full to drain out every few weeks like others do. I have not drained it since I fired it up and dropped the girls in. I feel I will know more when I get some normal photo period plants in it. These auto's right now I don't feel are my thing.

If you look on my cloner build you will see the Kilimanjaro (100% Sativa) is am planning on running in here. That is why I was so giddy to see what you are doing. Keeping those old unmolested genetics I feel will be a good thing in the future.

Enough of my rambling, Welcome again and jump in and throw ideas/thoughts out.

I hear you on the big amount of nutes needed for 40 gal, I'm doing 25 at change time and adding 5 more mid week, and from this last change it will probably be 7 or 8 mid week because she was about to start sucking air!:laughtwo:

If your running a tea and something like Z7, you can go longer but it makes it tough to figure out what is being used by the plant and what is lacking until it shows up on the leaves.

They are looking good so far, they should really start drinking now, mine really started gulp it down in the 2-3 week of flower.:thumb:
