4100K is very good, don't change that. If you have on hand a 'soft' white 2700K bulb,
light it near the others and the color difference will be plain.
250 watt is basic entry level HPS. 250 watt HPS Grow Light is excellent, and the lowest price that I've seen.
I use mine to drive a CMH Retro-fit by Philips, but the included HPS bulb is fine.
Look around that site, it's where I shop.
BTW, 400 is same price as 250
Propa--um, ok. I don't see any red with my lights but I am totally clueless when it comes to things electrical. In my simple mind, I was going with brighter is better. The bulbs I got from the garden store are bright as hell but 4100k. Next time I go back I will look for 6500k. I definitely see the change from swapping out lights I had in the past.
I have been searching on Ebay for 175w or 200w hps. I am on a budget or I would try for better but I figure if I get that, it is better than what I am working with now.
