QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

omg ! nice queen ! they are sooo big ! :D

Yeah, they are getting there. They have grown a lot in just a week's time. When I first put them on 12/12, they were a bit shorter and bushy. I did pluck a lot of leaves so light can get to middle and bottom of plant. I have already seen pistils forming on the lower branches at the bottom. With my first grow I did not see this so I figure I am doing something right!!! Once they got under that hps they seem to have taken off. I am definitely glad I bought it.

That's what I am like about it being the first week. Imagine a few weeks down the line? Or closer to harvest which will be in March. I wanna be able to take some nice nug pics.

Glad to see its just not me...I thought maybe I was being a tad fanatical..lol..I still need to get a green bulb. Any kind or some special kind? I did see some at the dollar store by my house.

Hi Queen......if you can get a green CFL. H. Depot has them....usually! :high-five:

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Really nothing to report, everything is going accordingly. Plant 2 is looking really pretty, seem like with pistils forming just about everywhere. Wish I could take a good pic of it, I did my best with the last ones I posted. Plant 1 who started out to be my favorite, is still growing but hardly producing any pistils at all...What gives??? She is taller and wider than plant 2. I was expecting her to be the one to give me lovely pistils first. She's not having any issues so I will chalk it up to whatever bs strain it is. Now I am thinking maybe I should make plant 2 a mother plant. I have her clone still doing well... Or just go with my original idea of making the lemon skunk and big bang the mothers...

The fellas are doing good. Watered them yesterday. But I could've sworn that I saw some nanas on one of them. So it could be a hermie? I have to investigate with my microscope a little later. And if it is a hermie, it's good to keep the seeds because they will be female, correct? Are hermies smokable?

nanners are male parts, of course you can smoke hermies, if its got trichombs you can smoke it,, back in the 70's some of the holy grail strains were hermie big time, like pretty much all the sativas ,thai, columbian gold, maui wowie etc, had serious tendency, i have had males that were pretty well covered in trichs i smoked em' they did the trick:thumb:, not as powerful as females but very decent, cannabis is cannabis is cannabis i say!! lol, i think you should follow your intuition on mother plants, hermie seed can be awesome seed, if you look in my 1st journal my biggest best plant or should i say 2 foot cola is a hermie seed, i thought it might be a bust, and turned out to be the prize plant this grow!,,you just never know:thumb::high-five::Namaste:

Ah, this is definitely good to know, thanks Irish. I would've just eventually scrapped it thinking it is a male. I still haven't gone investigating yet, will do it today when lights come on. I would imagine mj of the 70's was prolly quite potent.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Everything is looking good. This is the beginning of week 2 of flowering. I am amazed at how well the ladies are doing under the hps. Plant 1 is still lagging behind a little bit but I am seeing a few pistils here and there. Plant 2 is still kicking out pistils, on some of the branches I am seeing 5-6 bud sites where pistils are starting to fill in, even a few on the lower branches. Remember I never saw this on my first grow so I am amazed. I really think I am gonna have a nice yield with plant 2 even with plant 1 if she would just start filling out already....Anyhooo, room temperature is 78 and humidity at 35.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Things are moving along, temp is 76 and humidity is 46. I am starting to notice some yellowing on the fan leaves of plant 2 mainly on the top leaves not the lower ones. Should this be happening only 2 weeks into flower? I have been giving water almost every 2 days like clockwork. I know I am feeding enough, seems to be draining well, etc. Seeing more and more bud sites exploding every where on her. Can you foliar feed during flowering stage? I know it has helped with my other plants that are in veg.

It seems like plant 1 has had some kind of spurt too. I am seeing more pistils and bud sites. So, I am feeling a bit better about that. Everything is nice and green on her. No type of issues which I am happy about.

The fellas are still hanging in there. I must admit, I don't really pay them much attention. I still feed and water. Kharma seems to like them, I have noticed that he has been nibbling at one of them. A whole branch of leaves have been eaten....kitty cat nip?

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

No no folar feeding when in flower...makes it easer to get bud rot and every 2 days is too much watering...you are doing ok..just trying too hard...they will tell you when they want water...

Ok, didn't think so about the foliar feeding....I have been watering like that because when I do the finger check it is dry. Also one of the plants is in coco and was told that you shouldn't let coco dry out...So....that's why I have been keeping watered also. But like I said even the one in soil still appears dry plus there is no sign of drooping.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Queen your plants look awesome!:circle-of-love::adore:Good luck in Motm you have my vote!:goodjob:

Thanks, I can only hope my harvest turns out as well as yours did...I am still amazed at your getting 122g...I appreciate getting your vote for MOTM but about now, I am on pins and needles already. And quite honestly, I wasn't expecting to get all the votes I have. Only got them because Sisco and Granny dropped out of the race. To be nominated with such great people is an honor and to be tied with Godspeed who has been here longer than myself, done such great things just leaves me speechless.

As for today's update, nothing really to report once again. The ladies are doing well. Still pushing out pistils and getting taller. Maybe later I will go measure them again. The temp and rh are still holding steady.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Well, here is the latest with pics...They have been fed, watered, and nuted. I will be giving some molasses once it has cooled off. Bf measured the plants, plant 1 is now 34 inches and plant 2 is 28 inches...

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

looking good omg they are gonna be so humongous after they are done stretching!!! if coco dries out it can have wild ph fluctuations that leads to nute lockout, i have read that on several coco guides and seen it first hand in my grows, i never let coco go dry anymore after almost loosing my crop!, but soil should dry out between waterings fer sure yo! lol its gonna get really interesting in here!:peace::adore:

OMG, what? They're still stretching? How long will this be going on for? I thought maybe just the first 2 weeks. Pretty soon they just might be taller than me, and I am a shorty at 5'3. I have been keeping an eye on the coco, it seems that I can't go longer than 2-3 days before watering them. Even when I watered them today, the plants' pots were light as hell. What ya mean, it's gonna get interesting, it already is for me. Wanna guesstimate how much yield you think I may get from both plants? Anyone?

The bottom line is I couldn't have gotten this far w/o the help of my good friends that I have made on here. And I consider you one of them.

:welcome: Matty..Hope to get some input from you...

well most strains stretch 3 to 5 weeks so be prepared for that!! lol i mean your just really starting to put on bud, with the hps they will swell then when you think its about over they really pack on the weight!! the last two weeks can blow your mind and sometimes thats weeks 10-16 some sativa strains go 16 weeks b4 u see a amber trich, often ppl chop them to soon and miss out on oz"s !! buds can double even triple in weight in that last week or 2!!, just watch those trichs no choppy till ambers are close to half of all trichs!!, those plants are gonna be big fat beast's!!:peace::cheertwo::high-five:
i consider you a friend too sweetie:Namaste:
