That's going to be great. I have an idea in my head where the inlet water comes up high and water falls in and the outlet is right below the max line on the Dewey. A pump will push water until most of the old water has been flushed with water from the rez.

Not yet but i have a plan in my head to make an aero sog from a large plastic tote and several dewey misters. Ill put it in my 3' x 3' and maybe run 10 plants. Veg for 3-4 weeks and flip. I have a lot of standard seeds i need to get going and pheno hunt. Maybe do fem seeds with sts.

That would be awesome Pennywise. Lots of work but would be insane

Ill end up with maybe 4 strains in the perpetual, and try to really dial those in.

It's now been three days since a picture update. I'm assuming they are two feet tall by now lol

Not yet, leaves started showing a problem so i changed nute solution and ill add air stones to all the buckets tmro when they get here tmro. When the roots hit the water at the bottom of the bucket the roots exploded. With the high temps i think the Dewey couldnt supply enough oxygen to the water and the roots were sitting in stagnant water. Ill add the stones and i upped the bennies to help them cope. New growth looks decent for now. Ill post pics when i get home, be prepared to add stones if you veg or flower with the Dewey.

PW you are definitely a very skilled grower I have always thought about aero but was to scared to try it, now I want to SO bad from how good your growth is, I think next run will be it

I'm beginning to think the Dewey mister is probably only good for cloning. I can't imagine going through a full grow with just the mister.

Wow I thought there was enough movement in the water. Very surprised to hear that but that's ok. I noticed it doesn't take much air through the stone to be effective. You can split one of your deweys airline and have a stone run off of that with a valve is you didn't want another pump.

The stones did make a huge difference in my grow and it wasn't very expensive or hard to add them. Hope this works out for you pw! I'm thinking maybe with a chiller or cooler months it's not as needed as when it gets hot. Frequent rez toppings and changes seems to help a bunch as well. Maybe that recirc setup is a necessity not an option.

I'm in flower now and am very happy with what Dewey has done so far. I DID have to add an airstone but my pump is much weaker then pw. I think with a pump like pw and cooler water it would be a non issue but adding a stone is a really simple fix and the growth we are getting is unbeatable at least in any other way I've grown.

Definitely have bugs to work out but my plants that are flowering are BEASTS thanks to my Dewey mister. I'll share some root pics by Sunday when I get into the tent but I see Dewey as a dwc aero hybrid so adding a stone makes sense once the plants hit the water.


I'll have to run this by Jeff as Dewey is marketed to not need stones. I'll let him know two users needed the stones. See if he comes up with some ideas. I'll make sure to make my Dewey sog a recirc. That should help keep everything more stable!

The nice thing about aero is the plants seem to recover fast if you find the issue early. Hope you caught it quick pw and the rest of the grow goes smoother! Sorry to hear that, I had the exact same issue and had to fight root rot for a bit. With h2o2 dunks and z7 in the rez it ended up going away. Wishing for the best over here!!

I put a 1/4 airline in the water with a stone and its like night and day. The plants perked up and are praying big time. I honestly believe it happened because of high water temps. Warm water holds less dissolved oxygen than cold water. Need my AC running but the landlord controls when it gets turned on in spring. Have to save even harder for a new place i guess.

Ill consider h2o2 dunks tmro if it doesnt turn around by tmro. I increased my bennies to combat root rot.
