SE Asia - there was a mass crocodile escape from the swamps last week due to floodsWhere do you live? I thought Florida was bad but you had to go in the swamps. Eastern Diamondbacks, Water moccasins and Coral snakes. CL
Isn’t the humidity a issue growing there? I was thinking about how growing would be in Florida with the great sunshine but then ya gotta worry about bud rot and mold. CLSE Asia - there was a mass crocodile escape from the swamps last week due to floods
100% (it nearly gets there some nights!) when the sun goes down it stops evaporating the moisture in the air so humidity goes up and temperature pretty much stays the same. Its tough. At the moment I have a normal standalone dehumidifier running a constant hose out but hopefully in a week I have a whole house style ceiling unit coming just for the flower room. Can set that bad boy as low as 10% but only guaranteed to 30%. Warmth and humidity are my enemies whereas for lots of you its the other way round!Isn’t the humidity a issue growing there? Dry AF here now Humidity in the 40's. Electrics being done now. Super exciting!
I'm a bit from popping yet.We might be popping seeds on the same day? Mine haven’t arrived yet, reckon anytime from tomorrow to Tuesday. Def not in a rush this time. Taking my time.
Sounds good to me but I don’t think you’d like it very much. When I was living in Florida I came back home to visit and after one day of minus 10 degreesF. I was ready to go back. I got frostbite on my toes and fingers years ago and now whenever it’s cold they hurt. We should do a grow swap sometime! My family have never seen snow - someone comes to the tropics and enjoys the sun and takes care my plants for a week and vice-versa!

Isn’t that line from Spider-Man my favorite Super-hero.lol CLThey were 7 days to me - actually arrived in the country after two days but then the state postal service took over @Herbies Seeds ship great.
My room is only as good as the people who grow in it. “With great power comes great responsibility”! But gonna give it me all for sure.
2am mate? Catch you after some - my afternoon nap coming now - late night of football (soccer) watching tonight, and just staring at my room - was tempted to sleep in it last night. Complete blackout room!
What is the hard part of the walls made from.Nearly there - turns out when the construction guys went off piste with my measurements (now the door can open! ) I didn’t account they needed to move the light supports. The electrician run out of time so the girls not moving in today - patience is a virtue, etc.
But got a sneak peak of the first lights in - no transformers to be seen!
Stay warm everyone - I can have a sauna and a tan later
Ha - there are 6 walls because an L shape. 3 are concrete bricks, screeted/plastered and painted like a normal building wall covered with Mylar film. Three walls are the same Mylar film on gypsum/drywall then plywood on the outside. .What is the hard part of the walls made from.
Not the reflective part the hard part.
The seal and joints are fantastic.

I'm so inamered with that build.Ha - there are 6 walls because an L shape. 3 are concrete bricks, screeted/plastered and painted like a normal building wall covered with Mylar film. Three walls are the same Mylar film on gypsum/drywall then plywood on the outside. .
The Mylar film is bubbling already. As the contractors said it would! So per their recommendation on Monday the same 5mm reflective insulation is going on all the
walls and the external 3 walls of the “L” sure the reflective aspect isn’t quite as good but the lights are massively over specced for the space anyway so not losing anything really.
There are some big light and air gaps still but the guys really get what we’re after so were coming back anyway on Monday.
I’m not leaving this thread at all but going to start a thread for myself with a bit more detail on how/what/why I built - well how I had it built for me - its just locally available stuff. I wouldn’t know to find a lumber yard for anything other than plywood. 2x4 type stuff just isn’t used here so steel was always the way. Contractors are comfortable working with it. Measure (twice) chop saw and weld in minutes. Self tap the drywall and ply and steel roof in. Super quick!
Will pop a link in my new thread soon. But for now - better get a sexy pic in of the first guests when its done! Poor girls only had water for 3 days now as their EC and PPM were at Co2 addict levels! Hopefully they get the gas back tomorrow!
