Woah!! Is that actually a lake? looks like a clear water pond
Hey Verb good morning. :ciao:
No that's the Natawasaga River flows into Georgian Bay.
Part of the Great lakes system.
My buddy Dave owns the property.
Pristine Ontario River, one of the best in the world for salmon.
It's a 4 hr drive now.
I'm ok in the backyard with Howie now.
I'm glad you dropped by this morning.
Got Bad news from Renee.:(
Not only can I not send you that light, they won't let me send the whole prize package either.
Apparently there have been problems arising from members gifting their prize packages to othe members.
So I'm not allowed to send it to you, im so sorry.
I guess this is a new policy and I had no idea.
I'm gutted Amigo, sorry.

Stay safe :(

Fuggit, bring it on.

Quite the portrait! You'll have to tell me how you got sunglasses on a pike!

This is totally grow-related. Discussion of methods for acquiring fertilizers makes up practically half this forum.

I hope I haven't frigged your thread. I'm not super 'message board' savvy.

btw I recalculated and looks like I exaggerated. I've been out on the coast fulltime since 95, not 30 yrs. and I've come and gone for a year or two here and there but my oldest daughter is here and my parents too - followed me out. Lived in Nelson BC area b4 that. Anyway, its always home base. Another daughter in The Netherlands, also the 'ancestral home' - my folks born there and I love both countries to the bone. So much. Lookin at it now, kinda looks like I just followed the weed my whole adult life... might be something to that...
Two beautiful places, I'd have a hard time picking just one.
What is the fishing like in Netherlands?
Don't worry about my thread, I run discussions on everything in here.
It's me that will here it from Teddy. ;)
Non topic related pics, but like you said fertilizer?
Do salmon carcasses make good fertilizer for pot?
Because you should see the tree's he grows there.
Massive healthy pot plants.
Has to be something in that soil.
Every salmon that has ever swam up there has died, fertilizing the surrounding growth.
He doesn't fertilize , he just sticks the clones I give him in the ground.
Same spot for years, and just brilliant results.
So could we adapt that to our gardens?
There you go on topic.:thumb:

Water was looking crystal clear :thedoubletake:

And I was kinda like expecting that. As I told you about the Herbie Seeds. I totally get it if the winner would for example share the whole prize all over for the members - and whole lot different addresses needs to be provided for the sponsors.
Plus if they are used to deliver mainly to the US/Canada, then ofcourse they want to avoid unnecessary shipping costs to the EU.

I love nature, i love it, but I would mow the shit out of that lush fantasy fairy garden... right down to a golf course height. I don't do dense foliage within 100ft of the house, the bugs and mosquitoes around here would carry you off if you let it grow that thick. I spray pesticides like they're going out of style...

coastal climate = too much wind for flying insects. temperate climate = limited life spans, they can't make a proper beachhead. "fantasy fairy garden" Hahah...Guys, every plant you see except the red flowers (one tulip and a not too pleased rhododendron) are indigenous to this area. The tree with white flowers, dogwood, is the provincial flower/plant thingy. That's just what temperate rainforest looks like. OK except the little bit of grass, and the dandelions no doubt in there somewhere.

That's exactly what happens. Here eagles and gulls drag them up into the forest surrounding spawning creeks. Some of the mineral levels in these spots is off the charts. Fishing for fish in Holland is piss poor. But, have you seen the women?

Omg that's funny.
I've met a few , but none that turned my head.;)
Just in case Stacey reads this.

Yes year after year every salmon that ever goes in the river ends up as fertilizer.
Over the years that's a tremendous benefit to the local ecosystem.
Let alone the dependant wild life.
I'm sure there are a ton of studies on it.
If you haven't read 6 already

SPRING!!! Bill, we’ve had the coldest April in my 30 years here, S. Van Isle, but the last couple days, though unsettled, have been glorious. All the plants have their fresh new greenery, unbleached by sun and un-nibbled by critters. The lush variation here astounds. Did you know that 20% of earth’s oxygen is generated by the microscopic oceanic greenery growing, around now, within 150 miles of the BC coast? And, that the zooplanktons mixed in with them account for the largest seasonal-only animal population in the world, by weight? Impressive given the wee fekkers weigh fek all.

Hard pressed to recall this is suburbia, on some afternoons. Point her in a direction and watch nature’s genius unfold.
Look so peaceful also thanks for the knowledge

That place looks fantastic Bill, if I went there Id' probably think I'd died and gone heaven
Anyway let's keep Teddy happy - where in that plot will be your outdoor area, and why?
:Namaste:
ps understand if you'd rather not say ;)

I might have a trail like the Easter bunny , all over the yard.
It's hard to tell until there are some leaves on the trees.
Shadows could be a pain.
What do you think?
Right beside the river looks good. ;)

I dunno Bill - are you pulling my leg mate? lol

Judging by that pic of the guy with the pole, he had the sun full on his back with a reasonably short shadow, so I'm guessing it was taken sometime midday-ish, so I'd reason that your plants wanna be kinda facing that way, round to your left in the pic
My oh my - what a terrible decision to have to make

My biggest decision will be where to put the greenhouse.
Just don't want to block the view of the water.
Oh decisions, decisions.
Have a good day Mucker.

Hehe put a fence between the greenhouse and river too....or some happy boaters will be restocking in the middle of the night. ;). Sorry Bill, not trying to add to your worries.

I can help you there, come time, with setting up some cameras and help make it harder to break into.

Yes I thought about that. ;)
And cameras will be needed I'm sure.
Everyone along here grows and I saw the plants last summer.
They didn't have a problem so hopefully I won't either.
But better safe than sorry, your right.
Thanks Amigo.
I've got a bag of frass & Dazzle for you. :thumb:
Grabbed some in town Friday when I went to Winmar.
Hope everything's going good today.

Haha the vision of it :laughtwo: Bill wakes up ”the fuck you Howie barking at?”

But yeah, for real thats one thing to consider if there happens to be any boaters.
…So Bill put the new prize led in a good use!; set motion detectors and some alarms for the night. In case someone gets too close the yard quickly turns into a well-lit stadium.

I have enough lights to turn the green house a beacon seen from space.
Once I get the new @Mars Hydro
I just have to Talk someone into letting me run an extension cord to it.
Stacey is worried extension cords now.
The fire has really shaken her up.
I'll figure something out ;)

Get a Marinating Needle.
That tap root needs water!!
But you don't want to flood the cup.
I inject some into the bottom.
Then wet the top well.

So I remembered you had a punch of them doin absolutely nada. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Did the fire start from the extension cord? And isn’t it 230V AC in there Canada? Now days all the CE-certificated extension cords should be like really safe. You literally wont get the shock even if you tryna shove a fork in there. Not that I'd have a personal experience..lol, but really.

It is the same cable and almost same kind of socket which you use in your home on daily basis. ;)

And thanks Mucker! Doing good I’m being blazed as hell right now. 11pm and day first smoke!
I started trying not to smoke during the day and only smke for the first time in the night. Being way too tired during the days otherwise.
