Hey @Dank777 Good morning my friend.
Hope everything is going well with you.
Spring is here woohoo:woohoo:
Beans are popping and everything is fantastic.
Drove down to Barrie yesterday 9 hr by the time I was done.
Picked up some stuff from our insurance contractor.
Dry cleaning and some sentimental stuck.
But I managed to snag some stuff they haven't thrown out yet.
Namely 2-50 liter cloth pots feken right baby.:thumb:
They are going in the greenhouse, monsters are coming, hehe.
And I swung by my old grow shop and picked up Frass & Dazzle.
It's like gold that shit, hey @Rexer :ciao:I got you a bag too. Good morning
And some supplies, coco cubes , easy plugs , superthrive , myc and stuff.
But he sold the store.:( Sad , I'll never see him again, going out west.
Ok here is the stuff I bought, Howie is chilling in the shade back there.

@ReservoirDog :ciao: those three yellow bags are Frass & Dazzle.
Worth their weight in gold.
Proprietary blend of insect frass an a couple secret ingredients.
Amazing stuff, made it worth the drive just to get them.
My soil is going to be so alive I can't weight.
Especially since I added the @DYNOMYCO Amazing stuff works with the fungi I infuse its a great method.
I also add bokashi sorry forgot to mention for fungi.
The roots are so well taken care of that they give me a beautiful plant in return.
Love washing me some roots.
Oh yeah I grabbed coco cubes and easy cubes for clones fantastic, you have to try them.
And the old growers staple Super thrive ;)
Winter Princess got cooked really bad in the window on the first really sunny day, she needs help.:(
Funny thing local grow shop up here I asked for superthrive he said we don't carry that line of nutrients. Palm to the forehead.
Bag of fox farms over $70.00 oh Fer fek sake.
Cost $25.00 in my truck just to get there and back that's a $100.00 bag of soil.
Food basics here I come #speedingtickethehe
$2.98 a bag if you buy more than 4, hold on let me back in there.
I've got a mish-mash of everything I could beg borrow and steal, it's going to be great.

Yup uh-huh, prices are outta control. Right now everyone with some money to spend is buying extra b/c they've never seen real inflation before (under 55 yr olds anyway, and they spend 9/10s of the money gen speaking) and inflation has them spooked (like me). That it turn only provides stronger pricing power to retailer/wholesalers because there's no sales penalty to the higher prices... yet. So, what will happen is they'll also keep producing... and just when everyone has run out of extra to spend, production will peak.... and they will suddenly not be able to give the stuff away. These are exactly the economic shocks we have been very good at minimizing since, well, since WW2, excluding the seventies maybe. That was triggered by the oil crisis. Problem is, all the economic arrows in our quiver have been shot already. Since 9/11the US fed got very handsy with the markets, keeping rates at effectively 0% and creating the 20 yr+ housing market boom, 20 yr+ stock market boom... We paid very little for the 2008 crisis all told, this was the fed. But its weapons are depleted and after Trump the world is no longer even willing to support Washington as center of the world economy. A fell wind blows is all I'm sayin'. I think the trick for growing is going to be start next year's soils now, and do it all ourselves.

I'm growing/isolating my own bennies and making my own bloom ferts from this years flowers and fruits with fermentation. Also fish hydrosolate and grow ferts from nettles and comfrey which I'm picking wild now but also planting around the house. We should be able to make our our spagnum moss cloning blocks with moss/coco, gelatin and ammendments.

I know a lot of people who use superthrive. My go-to secret sauce is Humboldt's Secret Golden Tree and Liqui-Dirt. Humboldt's is like smelling salts for sick plants, never saw such a quick response. Liqui-dirt is another one of those "two drops blackens a gallon of milk" type additives. I bought a good supply of both this year. I also bought some straight up gibberalic acid for seed starts and made my own rooting paste with willow tree branches and gibberalic acid.

Man, I am having such a good time in my new veggie garden. Every neighbour's been over to admire and I've got it looking pretty good.

Are "speckies" speckled trout?
best, rd

"A fell wind blows" ever the diplomat. ;)
Concise economic summary, my grade 13 economics teacher would have loved you.
Mr Tripp , he owned a bar called Stash O'Neil's we all drank there.
17 and 18 year Olds it was a different time back then.
$5 filled my old Ford a 24 was around $12 bucks.
If you remember living through the gas crisis you must have a bit more Grey than I first thought. :Namaste:
I remember seeing the line ups in the news but I never had a problem getting fuel.
Jimmy and his feken peanuts, fell winds your right.
That garden must have been back breaking.
I'm sure your the talk of the neighborhood. :cheer:
Is there a line of neighbors wanting advice?
Do you have a background in Botany as well as economics?
My university degree at Western University turned into a Plumbers degree.
No seriously the summer before I was going to go I got a job as a plumber's Helper.
They all drank drove nice cars carried wads of cash, gambled like crazy.
I found a new home.
Flash forward 5 years I'm managing a plumbing company, 40 plumber's, 2 electricians, renovating high-rise apartments and condo's in Toronto.
Big bucksbacka then.
I thought why waste 4 years and all that hay , just kept my nose down and my ass up.
Never looked back.
But I'd fancy a shilling you stuck with yours.
Actually my body wishes I'd taken economics, might still be able to throw a leg over a motorcycle.
That I miss.
And yes speckies are Speckle Trout.
Water is high still, won't catch them until I can get in with the waders and fly rod.

Bhehee. Yes black filter coffee with oat milk and a little scoop of the CBD butter to the spoon - mix & enjoy at the morning with a fat J.

And thank you Bill :Namaste: In Finland we ”celebrate” the first of May today and tomorrow. It’s called ”Vappu” in finnish - I guess thats pretty never heard in US/Canada? It’s the ’international’ workers day.

Anyway I’ll be off the town today as I’m going to look one used LED. If it’s in OK condition I’ll buy it. But feels a little sketchy as it is a 240W QB with decent components but the guy is only asking for 80€…
Moneys on short and gotta look for used ones or some cheapos from amazon/ali.
Fingers crossed it’s in a good shape!

Have a nice weekend brother! :green_heart:

First Monday in September is our labor day here in Canada.
But our US neighbors to the south celebrate a lot of the same holidays.
Never heard of Vappu but I've never been east of England, let alone to Finland.
Some day it would be a great place to see.
It's breathtaking in pictures.
Let me see if I can help you with your equipment issues and maby something for that interesting coffee. ;)

First of May aka Vappu and ”Vappen” in swedish is pretty much celebrated only in Finland and sweden.

And the north side of Fin is breathtakingly beautiful especially in the autumn, tru dat. But most of the year its rainy, snowing or just generally cold as fuck :laughtwo:
Fly over and let’s go to hiking in the fall :passitleft:

Would love some help with that, but the shipping costs would be mad much for you to ship from Canada to Fin..

No, I was born during Watergate. The year that Labour's percentage of the proceeds of yearly growth became and remained zero, while Capital took the lot and has every year since. Non coincidentally it was the same year that wage growth, effective compared to inflation, also zeroed out and never recovered. No, before anyone asks, I'm not a communist, I just read. 2011-2018 I traded energy and agricultural derivatives freestyle from home for a US firm. I'm down w/ free enterprise and the profit motive, but with strong regulation.

Do you have a background in Botany as well as economics?
Basic English BA and Journalism Masters. My intro page discusses my ill-fated career in journalism. I mean, I've worked at it, but not nearly as intended.

So I went to the sea. Was always that or the mountain, for me to get my head straight. I eventually earned a 60 ton Master and Marine Engineer Coast Guard cert., so I ran sm. ferries, whale watching, oil spill cleanup rigs, Superyachts.... yadda yadda. If I have a talent for anything, it's probably seamanship.

But I knocked up one of my crew and so moved to The Netherlands, where she and both of my parents are from. Nowhere I'd rather be. Too bad I ain't. Now I'm back home, Van. Island. Been dealing with severe health issues my entire life but last 10 years unable to work-work, or get out of bed for a few years there. At one point I bought five used 55-65" TVs and had mounted on all my walls up against the ceiling so I could work on my computer from bed and trade... I think mostly crude futures, at that time. Ugh.

Now I tend to my people, my soul and my gardens, thankfully, usually, simultaneously.

Oh hey, got my new thread started. First indoor grow of my very own. "Can I get a Hallelujah brothers and sisters!?!" And it's legal! "Amen brothers and sisters!!!" Blow-me-down I still have to pinch myself. Also just got spec. approved for, like, a gajillion plants. Haven't been smoking for years, and gonna make up for lost time like a mutha f^%r after harvest.

Plans are for a monthly harvest from 2, 5x5 flower tents - essentially the same but one's DWC, the other organic SIP, all from same tote, same footprint, same 1100watt 10 bar LED. Supported by some mothers in the develop'd attic, an aeroclone site, and sm. zen veg space. Link should be in my signature and I'll tag-in a bunch of people next post on the journal. Love to see you all there!

Bill, that river, and fly gear.... man, proper fly fishing is like getting properly laid, you know, when that smirk survives on to the next day...to eventually become fish tales. Peace be unto you, my brothers and sisters.

Good morning Res, :ciao:
I ran a monthly harvest for years, it was so much fun.
I ran around 50 ladies in the veg room so I always had a great variety of strains to run.
I had 6 strains, took a while to separate out the pheno's and get stable strong genetics.
But once I did I just turned it into a conveyor belt.
Was sad to loose those mothers.
I read your post with your journalism history, very interesting.
But so is every aspect of your life.
Seriously ever thought of a autobiographical novel, you just have to make up a Bond type ending.;)
Broke a vertebrae in 08.
Went from work dawn to dusk to being unable to move from the waste down.
I can walk now and don't care about my health issues.
Being unable to walk was awful so I'm just so thankful now.
There are too many trees to fly fish from shore and water is still high.
But once I can get in there there are pools for miles.
I'll have to call Stacey to pick me up, so I don't have to walk back.
I cropped out the land marks but you can see why we all go tubing down the river.
You can go for hours it's so nice.

f. me that is a tubing route par excellance. Climate and landscape is so aggressive 'out west' that a good day's tube is hard to find. One good one exists on S. Island but people still die on it every year, and not always from drunkenness. If I were in charge of heaven, and it existed, I would reserve large portions for tubing. Man, the childhood memories are Huck-Finn-like. Thanks for that, for real. I used to wear a mask and dive for golf balls, then resell them to golfers at the gates of the course, until the golf pro came to run me off. I'd be back that day or the next of course. "It's a free country arsehole - and you're a 'golf-pro', don't take it out on the rest of us." I think to myself 40 years later, and thought to myself then.
