I'm confused. Do you mean it takes 3.5 cups to do one jar? Or do you mean 7 jars cook down to 3.5 jars?

I believe it's like rice.
3.5 jars of dry grain equals twice the amount of cooked

Yup, Shiitakes are SLOW, I'm almost 2 months in and the 3 blocks aren't ready yet. One is real close.

If it's solid bright white, it's just a little more air causing the PIN which looks big so that's probably what it is. Is it fully colonized yet or close.

It's got a vertical gap about 3\4 inch to go

You can basically do 3 or 4 King Oyster or Blue Oyster runs to one Shiitake block run. Shiitakes are one of my favorites so I don't care about the time, once they are colonized they fruit fast. I can't wait to see how they turn out in the Martha.

Well, my substrate arrived, but not my grain bags. Doh!

Otherway around cuz the grains swell up as they get hydrated. So 3.5 jars of raw uncooked grains will give 7 jars worth after u boil them. Unless i got tht wrong but im pretty sure im right lol.

Oh man well thts sweet. Then ill jus have to take prints an clones from my frit flush then start like 3 r 4 logs at once so each harveqst is enuf to last another couple months lol. But yea 2morow ill have my new timer so will finally be able to dial in my tent. Here is the tub lid i put the ducting to an will run it 2 my tent an hook 2 a timer. Only stupidblackjacks meeter wont no to overythi a figure ill start at 5 to 10 min on every hour an see how the humidity holds after a few runs. But yea this thing is lookn fukn killer im pretty excited to see how the first run turns out. Its funny when i fire this monster humidifier up it pumps out so thick of fogg my one dog Zuess or Ducth as my nickname for him lol he jumps up an down into it an jumps around like he is in the snow or sumthn lmao. But wen he jumps he jus fall rite to the floor N shakes his head for a sec jus looking cornfused as all hell hahahaha. It was looking like he wanted sumthn the way he was acting liking trying to find sumthn or sumthn lmao idk. Still though it gave me a really good laugh haha. Good times good times. An yea chestnut an king oyster an pink oysters are the next edible ones i wan get then idk what medicinal ones id like to get cause idk what do what lol. But ill still so alil research b4 hand so that way i get things to go off without hitch the nex morning. But yea u got any names of medicinal shrooms i shud get first? Also same question but lookn for names of edible mushrooms. If any1 cud name drop a few for me i would gladly appreciate it thanx every1.

It's not the consolidation of the supplemented sawdust block that you are waiting for(little less than 3 weeks), it's the popcorning and eventually browning of the (Shiitake)block(s). I'm not waiting 2 months to find out it's contaminated, it's BEEN fully colonized for over a month, usually with blocks or even Oat spawn(WBS), you will know within 2-4 days if your project is FUBAR@! Contamination travels faster than mycelium, I actually experienced my first contaminated syringe, checked all the boxes and crossed all the T's, it's NOT me. I let the vendor know, and explained that I don't expect anything or a refund(just a heads up email), it's the way MS syringes are sometime(first I've experienced). It's what I get for going to spawn first with this syringe instead of AGAR first like the F+. I'm offloading liquid and it was a freebie syringe so... I was just shooting jars to kill off syringes. All good, F+ is the strain I wanted to play with anyway, and I'm 3 transfers in, I also have a TAZ clone I want to run in the Martha fairly soon. I don't even need any really, but I HAVE to have a run or two in the Mini Greenhouse. The chestnuts are loving my environment and those are on the Intermediate level, so CUBES should do well since they're are an easier process than blocks. I ran through 25 unicorn bags(used 1 for another unrelated project), 24 of 24(4 5 pound blocks at a time), shoot.... I MUST be doing something right without a flow hood. All for the Data and science for these test blocks. TESTING is going well, I expected to lose a few.

Oh, I just wanted to clarify on the Oat prep(soaking), I didn't mean a handful of busted seeds(like an entire hand) for 7 jars, it was literally a few seeds popped in the whole batch. I found maybe 5(fingers worth is a better description) grains popped.. very minimal(and hydrated perfectly). The Blue Oyster loves the Oats, showed signs of growth in less than a day(a few hours short). I reread my post and was like...
