Prof's Lab: Diary Of A Bedroom Farmer

So we have some pics of the plants before they were chopped. First we have the Tashkurghan. That was actually a really nice plant. So many flowers crammed into a little area was probably her downfall. She was also a banana spitter for most of the grow so not worth keeping. It could have been much worse for this one....

Next is the Sativa Dream. I couldn't find much love for this plant which is strange as I can connect to some real shit sometimes lol. It has a fairly average appearance and good sized flowers but felt a bit meh at times. The flowers have taken on a purple tone over that last week of flower and are super sticky but smell ok. A bit skunky with a hint of fruit. The effects could win me over so we will have to wait and see....

The unknown Afghan landrace #2 had a very nice structure and the buds were of a good size and very dense. She has gone a lovely shade of purple and looks good with the fade. It looks like the seed problem wont be too bad after all though I will have to pick out a few from the tops. I was thinking about maybe keeping the mother until I found a load of nanners lower down the plant. Another hermie. I washed it very well to remove the aphids and there mess. They went to town on some of the lowers. Overall I'm pretty happy with this one but it is another that can't be kept....

The unknown Afghan landrace #1 is the keeper. Or at least up until this point she is. There has been no funny business with her in regards to hermaphroditism and she handled the humidity well. She was also very fast and smells the best out of the 3 landraces'. Add on top of that her stunning looks and we have a winner. The flowers are compact, dense and go right down to the dirt. The flowers have some beautiful shades of pink and purple mixed in with various tones of green that stand out against her golden fade. Very happy with this little lady....

Hey buddy. There are some nice genetics being done now from the bedroom. some if it looks dangerous mate. that purplish and hues on the last pics. wow. should have a stinger attached somewhere for further visual warning. Been a while buddy , wish I had better thumbs and more time for hitting the forums but always ran off our feet by these brats we sired. lol ( still loving it here really but shagged out!!!! possibly adding to the madness/tribe thanks to sheepflu , in the "sweating phase" at present.!!!!!lol)

Nearly at harvest now and going for an auto run next for ease, had some shit luck early on and ended up only running 3 plants under 2 Mars. gutted but all doing amazingly good with the survivors thankfully. 2 weeks left.
good luck with the finish

I love the bright orange pistils against light green bud!
I'm still hoping to find one with pink pistils. not had one of those yet.

Hey GG! how are ya buddy? Sounds like I'm in a similar boat as you. I though id have more time for the forum being off work with the kids. How wrong I was lol. Over in the barneys thread I have had some plants go from seedling to harvest in 5 posts lol.

Running autos for ease? careful! To be fair, my last ones did really well and beasted most of my photo plants from this year. Barney's new one's are pretty good.

I will eventually make my way around the forum again, I promise lol

Cheers GG

No pressure buddy. roll on freedom and some time off family for a change.lol
Will look over the barneys too as did consider hitting theirnoptions but got an offer to try the sweet seeds ones and love their Amnesia haze so had to give it a whirl.

been spil thinking too and come up with the L.O.S and ecothrive cocolite with charge too as a medium for the auto run. The Los is in 60L fabric and has run short mid flower every run. I though the it was natural fade bit this run injave been using the Megacrop from mid flower after theirncolour started to fade. It bought them straight back to green and been using it for rhe remainder now. getting great results in combo so thinking in a coco mix for auto root growth with bennies then again hit wm with the Mc mid flower. As you found too , my auto run kicked every other run in my career to bits. lol . now got 12 to run of 3 different strains. roll on harvest of this run now. hoping to master the autos if possible. just need the confidence to train them more.lol. catch you in the barneys.

That Amnesia looks ace! Nice stacks on those towers. I've never run anything from Sweet Seeds before but if I did I would have to give the Dark Devil a spin.

I had a few plants fade quite drastically in this last run. The Blue Cindy went really yellow despite being fed up until the end and the Pineapple Express went really dark in the final week. Got some pics of those coming up shortly.

Here is the Pineapple Express #2. This is a solid hybrid and has a lot going for it. The plant was one of the smaller of the round but should have a good yield for her size. She has the densest flowers and they smell fantastic. They are also some of the largest. The smell is tropical and skunky and should make for some good meds....

Next up is the Blue Cindy. A mostly sativa hybrid with massive flowers that are caked in grease. I was particularly worried about this one when I found the mould as she had turned very yellow. No rot to be found though so that is groovy. She had two faciated flowers and a few polyploidy branches which you don't often see. She was also very quick for a sativa heavy strain and is well within the harvest range whereas I think the Sativa Dream could have done with a week or so more. She smells sweet and the Blueberry genetics are apparent in the scent. Never grown a Cinderella 99 but I imagine this one gets her frame from that strain. I expect her to have the highest yield from this round. Overall, I quite liked this one....

The Chocolatina x Chocolatina is one of my favourites. It isn't the largest of the bunch but she smell's incredible. She is one of the prettiest though and has some mutations similar to the Blue Cindy. She has one faciated flower and some tetraploid branches. Her frost, although not the most abundant of the group, is the most sticky. It reeks of creamy, sweet fuel and the smell was transferred over into the flavour of the scissor hash. I cant wait to get this one into the jar and curing. One other thing of note was that this was the only plant with thick and hollow stems. Don't know if you guys needed to know that or not but hey....

i did consider the dark devil but the hype put me off after the blackberry grow, purples dont hit me at all very ewell. . potency for a few has been down. i think the lemon edges of some are what get me. amnesia is another strain i have had and loved smoking. (never grown myself though). gorilla girl had me at the gorilla too.lol
i love the smell of the pineaple express. so on point to the name.

Got to love the last pics before the chop. live the dusty and dangerous appearances and the dark shades beckoning you in. brilliant work brother.
I am taking the Fft#10 hopefully tomorrow. looks so sweet and ready without a trich check. love the ends.( had to share her)...

Aloha Professor!

Top notch work and photos my Braddah. Shitty deals on the mold but it’s seems you got to it promptly before it could really wreck shop. I’m a true believer in the led’s and love mine for what they do in the small space I have. I bet a tent packed full of widow would yield crazy.. It’s been well over a decade since I smoked the big bud strain. I think was from nirvana... that and the papaya yielded fat although I preferred the papaya smoke over the big bud... had good body stone.

Hope all is blessed with you and ohana on that side of the pond my friend! Aloha!

I did read somewhere that the DD wasn't overly powerful but I'm sure the missus would love it still.
The Amnesia that I grew out years ago wasn't the best example of the strain. It was an Amnesia Auto from RQS and it was neither powerful or tasty. I would like to do another in the future at some point though.
Can't fault the Pineapple Express. This one is G13 Labs PE #2 which is their Pineapple Express (Hawaiian Skunk x Big Bud) x Skunk. I have grown both of the versions and I think I prefer this one. I remember being more impressed with the size of the flowers on the original but this one has a better smell and more frost. The structure on the #2 is more indica as well.
Sweet set of plants Professor! I'm glad you found a keeper landrace in the bunch, and I remember MrS had some great colas on his Pineapple Express way back when, so they obv have that strain dialed in.

Are we going to get the 12 days of smoke reports this year or am I not allowed to ask until the end of November?
Lol! I did find a keeper amongst the Afghan landraces' but the clone I took from that one didn't take. That is pretty much my luck in a nutshell. I have some more bad landrace news coming up later today

Hey Sunny! Mould season should be over for me now as it is predicted to be a dry and cold winter this year. I'll believe it when I see it lol. We have had rain and mist and rain for weeks now and it is super depressing. I have had to chop all of my tomatoes as they were getting blight and I have just had to pull the Crumbled Lime which is outside as it is mouldy. That was an experiment though so it's nothing to worry about.
I love my LED's, every one of them. The 2 autos in coco came in at just under 9 oz from a 200w floodlight in a 60x80 tent. That was a nice little victory.
White Widow would be a safe bet. I just need something to keep the family off my back lol. I have been browsing for a while now and keep coming back to the same things. Big Bomb looks like it could be a good choice and the Incredible Bulk sounds like another good option but a lot of the reviews I have found sound disappointing. I grew out a strain from Dutch Passion a couple years back on 420 called Critical Orange Punch. That was a beast and ticked most of the boxes. So many choices.

Thanks Sunny and hope all is well on your Island also.

Are we going to get the 12 days of smoke reports this year or am I not allowed to ask until the end of November?
Forgot to reply to this gem....No!

I only have 10 strains I could review and a few of them are homemade crosses. Then there is the landrace strains which I'm not sure can be reviewed. The review would go something like "Roll a dice and watch out for hermies. Good luck".

Hey 420! time for some savage updates. First up we have the Crumbled Lime experiment which was being grown outdoors using homemade fertilizer. This experiment is a failure as there has been hardly any sun since it went outdoors. There has literally been less than a couple weeks of good weather since putting her out so I can't tell whether the nutes work or not. She inevitably succumbed to the botrytis and now needs to come down if I am to salvage anything. There are a couple points which are interesting though. The plant smells surprisingly better than the first time around. In case anyone has forgotten (like I have several times) this is the re-vegged plant which produced a NOTM winner. The shape and structure of the plant is essentially the same but the flowers are very different. These went very purple compared to the first time as the night temps have been low for this time of year. The flowers hardly grew at all but are still very frosty and have such a nice smell to them. It is not a complete disaster as it was a free grow and took next to no effort but it is a bit of a shame. I don't think this strain is suited to the British climate lol. Anyway, here is what happened to her out in weeks of 100% humidity....

This has been a regular view of ours lol. Next year we will find something a little more hardy. Perhaps some of the Himalayans could fit the bill....

Stay safe everyone!

If you think that update was bad then you'd best take a seat. The Malana Cream's which were doing so well have both just gone hermie on us. I noticed a few nanners on them last week so I pulled them off and hoped for the best. I found some more the next day and remembered what Penny said about plants sometimes spitting some out early on then stopping. I considered giving you guys the vote on whether to keep them or not but in recent days they have produced even more. They are everywhere and impossible to keep a handle on now. I could see me ending up with a grow room full of pollen and some heavily seeded plants which I didn't like the sound of. So they have been culled and the room has been cleaned. What a bastard as that is a good portion of the Xmas stash gone. There are positives though. I now have more room for plants lol. Here they are looking great from a distance. Up close though it's like a Donkey Kong porno....

The color on the outdoor crumbled lime experiment is just straight ridiculous.. shitty deals that one didn’t make it to full fruition. The malana cream are looking proper and stacking my friend!

Its been muggy and hot down here as well. Rain storms have been cutting off the trade winds so I’ve been on mold patrol myself. Stay blessed my friend!
