Prof's Lab: Diary Of A Bedroom Farmer

The color on the outdoor crumbled lime experiment is just straight ridiculous.. shitty deals that one didn’t make it to full fruition. The malana cream are looking proper and stacking my friend!

Its been muggy and hot down here as well. Rain storms have been cutting off the trade winds so I’ve been on mold patrol myself. Stay blessed my friend!

:passitleft:
The Malana's have gone as well. I don't think it was anything I did though they were a little touchy with the nutes. I haven't been put off and will try things a little different next time. I dont think dedicating entire tent space to unpredictable plants is a good idea.
Well that was a load of rubbish...literally! Into the compost bin with the human flesh and rotten turnips they go.
I don't put turnips in the compost. Root veg is a pain to break down lol.

We will pick ourselves up and try again. This time we will go with something a little more documented.

Do you ever pick strains explicitly for their mold ( mould) resistance?
There are some pretty tough strains that could possibly handle your conditions a bit better.
Sauga and I have a joint grow right now. We are growing Kalashnikov and she is supposed to be incredibly resistant to mold and pests.
Just a though escaping from my weed addled brain.

Stop by our grow if you have the time Prof.
I know you are busy so it isn't required.

Sorry you lost your Malanas. Super unfortunate.

Hey VG! How's things?

I can't recall ever buying a strain for its humidity resistance before though I have had many from freebies. Every year that I have been growing I have had mould at the end of the summer on something in my tent/s. Next year we WILL grow something a bit more hardy through the summer and autumn months. Thanks for the suggestion with the Kalashnikov. The Himalayan landrace sativa's are supposed to be highly resistant to humidity but there are other risks involved with those as you well know. I might save them for outdoors.

The UK is in lockdown again so I will have a bit more time soon to catch up and see what you've all been up to shortly. Hope you've all been a productive bunch and are staying safe still. Especially state-side. :green_heart:

I've been busy with a lot of shit lately and I am late to say congratz on your harvests Prof. :passitleft: Sorry to hear about these mouldy nugs but after all I think you filled a fine stash. Both plants look good but tbh I wasn't expecting nugs like that from Tashkurgan. They look tastier and bulkier than what I've been expecting. Have fun smokin' these brother. Hope everything is cool with you.

Hey TC. I still need to do the final weigh-in which will be later today. The Tashkurghan turned out pretty good but it was still growing. It would have probably had the highest yield if I didn't throw her two largest tops. She was riddled with nanners though so no good to anyone. I haven't found a single seed on any of the plants either, even the Afghan #2 which I was certain was severely seeded.

Cheers TC. I'll drop some pics later today.

I got a new phone and needed to try out the camera. It seems ok. Here is the Crumbled Lime X unknown....

Hey 420. Here are the flowers before they were put into jars. We got a nice little haul from this round despite a few issues. The Landrace strains all made it to the finish and don't look half bad. There are some clear differences between the hybrids and the traditional strains though. The landraces are much more leafy and took longer to trim up. They also have less density though not by much in some cases. The smell is also noticeably different. There is no hint of skunk in the scent of any of the 3 afghans though they are all easily recognisable as cannabis. Afghan #1 is heavy and chemmy scented even though it was fruity for much of the grow. The unknown Afghan #2 has a familiar Kush scent and the Tashkurghan is quite fruity. All 3 had a good yield and beat most of the hybrids which really surprised me as their flowers just don't have the body compared to the worked hybrids. All 3 of the landraces had flowers everywhere though, right down to the floor in the case of Afghan #1.
Here are the Landraces (right rack)....

Back shortly with the hybrids.
:passitleft:

The hybrids all turned out good in the end. There was a shock result in that the Blue Cindy which I thought would be the heaviest fell short of the Afghan #1 by a few grams. The Chocolatina had the smallest yield as predicted and also has the best smell which it has had since the beginning. The Pineapple Express has the densest nugs and was probably the best overall yielder as she was a small plant but had a good score. The Sativa Dream has dried with a good scent and looks pretty nice now. Lower yield than I thought she would have but she did lose two of her biggest flowers.
The flowers on these are more like what most people would expect from cannabis. The Landraces feel wild and messy, these are much more familiar and the generations of hard work is noticeable. Job well done....

Looking good, Prof!
Do you think this yield will have your B.I.L. eating his hat?
:welldone:
Maybe on the inside lol. It'll be a similar yield to what he would get but using half the power. Mine will definitely look and taste better though.

Cheers DD!

Not too bad for a thrown-together garden which then encountered a few hiccups along the way. I will be changing how I grow soon though to see what can be achieved with fewer, larger plants. One more multi-plant round and then we will be hitting some bigger girls. I have received two seeds today which have been planted already. A Big Bomb fem from Bomb Seeds for the family and a Bubbas Breath fem from Katsu Bluebird for myself. Plus I have dropped 3 Wedding Cake x Chocolatina's in the hopes of finding a female to be the third plant for the next round.

I will drop some pics of some flowers as soon as I can. Catch you all soon

Nice harvest Prof!
Cheers Penny! We did pretty good in the end. There were plenty of learning curves on the way though. Still, it should keep everyone happy for a while.

Which strain from Bubba Katsu were/are you running? I'm sure I saw one on my recent but brief travels.

I’m running the Pre 98 Bubba S1 right now.
Hell yeah! That one wasn't available for me lol. I went with the OGKB 2.0 x Pre 98' Bubba Kush. I'll be over to see what yours is like
Amazing stash Prof. :passitleft:
Cheers TC. That PE which you chose was a winner. It didn't die and looks and smells great lol.

I don't mind at all and will do my best. Thanks 420!
