Prof's Lab: Diary Of A Bedroom Farmer

Lol. My friend did bring over some nice weed once before but 99.9% of the time I beat him.

That sounds like a fun challenge. I'm still trying to hit 2g per watt as my personal challenge. Nearly did it once but since
then I haven't come close lol. I need to find a decent yielder and run clones of it if I'm to beat it.

Hey Fred!. We used to get some terrible weed which was sometimes un-smokable. About a decade ago, weed in the UK was getting rolled in crushed glass to give the effect of heavy frost. Hash used to get pressed around rolled up plastic bags to make it look bigger. I have had a few of them in my time lol. One of my friends purchased a good sized lump of hash only to find that it had been smuggled in a fuel tank at some point in its journey to him. It stunk like diesel and not the strain lol. I'm growing my own until I can't grow no more. Hope you are well bud.

Cheers Sunny! I'm loving the landrace strains at the moment. One thing which stands out is that they are all very pretty. There beginning to smell now which I've been looking forward to. It seems like the unknown Afghan #2 is going to go down the burnt rubber route while the #1 is a bit fruity. Tashkurghan is doing something strange which I will show you in some pics later. I don't think it is a bad thing but it looks weird.
I will be potting up the Malana Creams tomorrow and putting them straight into flower. They are starting to get out of control lol

I have quite a lot of tomatoes still coming on so thanks for the preservation idea. I'll give it a go as the pics of the food over in your thread look as good as the weed lol.
Thanks Sunny. Hope you are well bud.

I will put the pics of it up in a bit to show you how crap it is lol. The only thing I liked about it was that it didn't stick to my finger when I rolled a joint with it.

I got 1.4g per watt per plant per m^2 on my Purple Punch grow with thrip infestation. I think huge plants like my PP or SOG tents would yield close to 2g per watt. I consider Purple Punch a good yielder and I believe without the thrip infestation, she could produce a lot more because some buds were stunned after some point. On last three weeks, there was almost no mass gain.

About my future plans concerning big yielders, I will cross Barney's LSD with Blue Gelato 41 and I am sure that will yield insane. I am still waiting for my promotional seeds to arrive. They'll send three seeds of Runtz Muffin, LSD, Mimosa Evo and DoSiDos 33. My grow life is spicing up :passitleft:

Looks more like an immature seed to me.
I think you are right but that is also a banana next to it in the pic. I have a decision to make with the Tashkurghan. Pull it or pluck the nana's and be vigilant. I found 5 or 6 when giving her a check over. I have had this happen before and gotten away with having no seeds in the bud but we are only half way through flowering and there is still a month or so left for some of them. What do you think? Ditch it or keep it with caution?

Sounds like fun. If you wanna make a large yielder then I can recommend the Shishkaberry as both of the ones I have grown have been great producers. The Tropicanna Banana was good too.

I like the sound of that Mimosa Evo. It looks so pretty

I’d just watch her and see if she continues pushing out new nanners. You may not see anymore.
I will be checking her later today. It's a bit of a shame but the other 2 are more than making up for it. The unknown Afghan #1 is going to have some amazing buds by the end. She never did look right again after the nitrogen issues but has some of the nicest looking flowers of all the plants.

Hey 420. Its been a week since I was last on so its time for a little catch-up.
We now have 3 flowering areas and I'm slowly whittling down my veg tent to make things more organised again. It is technically flowering day 3 for the 2 new grows but I'm going to call it day 1 to line up with the calendar.
here is what we have now.
first up is the cupboard. in here we have the Crumbled lime x unknown (right) and the Chocolatina x Guicy Banger (left)....

They look a bit sickly in the pics because we are under some blurple lighting again but both are doing nicely. It looks like they are female though I'm not 100% on that quite yet. One of the C x GB was a male so was thrown....

I like this one already. Another with the tri-leaf mutation....

The CL x unknown is a strong looking plant with some good growth. I'm sure this one is a female as it has been holding out for a long time....

Over in the tent we have the 2 Malana Cream's. Both of these are female and are growing straight up. They are very quick and I hope I haven't made a mistake. The worst that will happen is I will have to give them an extreme topping when they reach the top of the tent. That might actually happen lol....

They are a little bit shabby and I can't quite tell what to do with them yet. It looks like they might want a little more food but I will hold off for now and give them a little longer to settle....

Flowering day 50.

The main flowering tent is coming along nicely for the most part. We had a little hiccup with the Tashkurghan landrace but she hasn't been too bad. I have found a few more nanner's on her since but it is manageable enough to not warrant throwing her. Still, I have ditched the mother as she won't be good for future grows. Other than that things have been smooth and plain sailing.
The landrace strains are pretty much keeping up with my expectations. I never expected them to out-perform the hybrids which is clear to see now but I did expect some interesting traits and I think we have some of those. They have a nice appearance and also have unique scents. All 3 are different and range from fruity to coffee and leather.
The hybrids are all doing well and are filling out now. There is already a clear winner in the smell department and that goes to the Chocolatina. It is like the perfect blend of fuel and chocolate and just smells that much stronger than the rest of the plants. The Pineapple Express has a particularly strong smell of sour and almost rotting fruit but just doesn't top the Chocolatina.
I can pretty much tell what the 2 unknown fems are now as they have matured to the point where they match their descriptions. The unknown fem #1 is Blue Cindy from G13 Labs. It smells and looks like it has Blueberry genetics in it whereas the other 2 don't. The second plant is Sativa Dream from Kannabia. It looks like the pic and smells like the description. The 3rd strain would have been the Flowerbomb Kush from Strain Hunters which doesnt fit the description of either of the 2 plants I have. Case solved!
Time for some pics of the ladies today.

I realized that I don't have enough sugar in my life, so I hope it's okay if I get my fix from here...
:ciao:
Hey Shed! Good to hear from you again. I've not got much further than here in recent months and have kind of given up on the idea of catching up lol.

We should have plenty of frosting to go round so help yourself.

Indian red stems are cool and not very common. The Afghani are gorgeous flowers
I have put the male Balkh into flower to cross with the Malana's. Might get something interesting.

Here's one for you Penny. The Highland laos has already begun to get root bound. It is also leaving everything else behind....

That will be an easy one to pronounce. Balkhmalana?

Highland laos is getting too big for its britches!
I was thinking of calling it something more catchy like "C. sativa subsp. indica var. afghanica x C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica X C. sativa subsp. indica var. afghanica x C. sativa subsp. indica var. himalayensis x C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica"!

What do you think?
Take clones, I’ll be running Golden Dragon from Snowhigh next. Khmer Gold (Cambodian) x Chaing Mai (Thailand)
I will definitely be taking clones, mainly to keep it small. I can't be bothered with root pruning it every 2 weeks though I do have some small fabric pots spare so I might get her put into one of those.
Do Thai plants like topping? I read somewhere that it is best to let them grow naturally but looking at mine I can't see why it wouldn't.
