I've removed one from the glass today and have set it up in a more permanent glass under some actual lighting. The 3 cuttings are growing but are beginning to look bad as they have just been sat on the shelf for a while. Also I haven't checked PH or changed the water since I last showed you. Check out the up coming pics. Just gotta deal with Shed first.
I think it is called the Kratky Method and supposedly works for some plants. I've just set up this cute little dark glass jar complete with 2" net pot and neoprene disk to hold it in place....
I'm going to try and bring one of the clones back to good health....
I didn't use the clone with the best roots as I have other plans to destroy that one. These fit together quite nicely though....
I currently have the roots fully submerged which isn't how the Kratky method is supposed to work but hey. the stem is a bit too long and the roots aren't currently long enough. I'm hoping that the dark glass will help the roots along a bit....
This one is now in the veg tent and I will update you as she dies....
Climate change is a good enough reason for your vote. That is one in favour of the 100w grow. Keep your votes coming people.
I would love to tell you their stats but sorry. No meter. They are the true wall watts though. It does annoy me that the 100w light has 1000 in its name as that is bull shit. The 200w light is 26'000 lumens but I'm not sure about the 100w unit. The 100w is rated at 2.7umol/J which doesnt mean much to me other than I know that most lights dont go above that number yet lol.
Hey Fred! How are you buddy and welcome to my journal. I know that you passed through on 4/20 but we didn't get to chat much.
The cloning in a jar seems like a logical thing to do if you have mothers which you're cutting back a lot. Why not throw them in a jar. It's either that or the compost...or even worse, the stinky barrel of homemade fertiliser lol. To be honest I have had a bad time cloning over the last year as there was a problem with my aeroponic propagator. I was blaming myself for most of the failures but have made a recent discovery which may explain why the clones weren't taking in there. I opened up the pump and discovered that it was full of mould. The reason I had not noticed this before is because I didn't realise that I could take the pump apart that much. I mean I knew that it came apart but I discovered that it came apart again....and again lol. There was a middle section which was full of slime and my clones wouldn't push root and eventually got the rot. I'm not sure if that is the whole story but I'm having more fun doing it this way. it saves a lot of space as well which is a bonus. I can save on space and be lazy and all it costs me is an extra week or so. Still more investigation needs to be done first. Apologies for off-loading on you. You caught me at a good/bad time lol.
Cheer Fred
