Prof's Lab: Diary Of A Bedroom Farmer

Does that go for snails too? All of the sudden we have a dozen snails around the house!
Yes it does. It cuts up their soft bodies and they bleed to death. Usually they just avoid that area all together.

Remind me never to upset you.

It is indeed. I'm almost offended that it didn't take a bite. My cuttings not good enough for you Mr/Mrs mollusc?!
You lucked out. It must have fed before it got to your plants.
Another way to rid of them is to fill a tuna can with stale beer. They go hot tubbin and get drunk, then they drown.

Much like humans then. The hardest part will be allowing the beer to go stale.

I need you wonderful people to help me pick 8 strains. First come, first serve. Ready...steady....GO!.....

My pick would be Ogkz. don't know anything about it but it's from Humboldt and is an Og kush cross I think.
That ones interesting because it is a "fast flowering" strain. It'll be cool to run it alongside other strains to see if it is indeed actually fast. Thanks N

C- vibez

No idea what it is but it sounds fun.
I just went and looked it up again. Here's what Dutch Passion have to say....

Consisting of genetics from both Mad Scientist, and the Voodoo strain from Dutch Passion, here we have a lovely hybrid strain that is dominant in Indica. The Mad Scientist is another strong Indica dominant strain, bred by Sannie and Knutsel, made up of White Widow and Herijuana. While C-Vibez is dominant in Indica, it carries a lovely lemony taste that you would almost automatically associate with a Sativa, with this only getting more and more intense when the flower is burned. Fast flowering in only 8 weeks, she will grow into dense, compact, and rock hard buds. At a height of 1.0 - 1.5m, she will take you by surprise because she's capable of producing mega yields. The high experienced is a very strong stoned effect, thanks to the very potent parental strains Dutch Passion have picked out. This strain has not been bred to 100% stability for the reason that this will give you a wider range of top quality phenotypes to chose from, with vigour occurring usually in F2 and F3 generations and about 30% of the seeds assessed by the breeder have been said to carry pink to purple tones within the flowers.

Sounds fun :)

Well I think that it is safe to finally call the "cloning in a glass of water" experiment a success. The clones are visibly growing today and the root nubblies have doubled over recent days with many beginning to actually grow. It has taken just 26 days which isn't very long at all though other methods of cloning are much quicker. The difference is that you need to know what you are doing with other methods otherwise you risk killing your cuttings. I have just proven that even an idiot can do it this way and all you need is a jar, some water and a healthy cutting. I think that these would have rooted even quicker if I had left them alone and stopped moving then around the room. I changed the water once about halfway through and had intended to change it again today. When I checked on them I decided that there was no need as we are done. I think that using a pot that doesnt allow light to pass through would make a positive difference so next time I do this I will try it a few different ways.
So there you have it. Easy peasy cloning Prof style....

Before I forget I dropped 2 seeds yesterday in the hopes of finding a male. @Lewydeville has made growing males look so much fun I thought I'd give it a go. You never know, maybe I'll have some of my very own crosses by the end of the year. Here's what we are growing....

As you can see the camera isn't quite as fixed as I would would like but it will have to do. The reason I've not been able to send it away to be fixed is because of the potentially incriminating evidence on it lol.

Here are the individual pics....
