ProfessorFlora's 10 Strain 200W LED Organic Soil Grow

HEAVY GRAPEFRUIT
STRAIN REVIEW

Hey 420. Today's strain review will be of Heavy Grapefruit from Europa Seeds. This plant is a cross between Sweet Tooth and Dynamite and is mostly indica. She is vigorous in veg growing fast and bushy with some good side branching. When you put her into flower she slows down a bit and has a relatively short stretch over the first few weeks. One thing that ironically stood out was that she was quite unassuming and didn't catch my eye as several other strains did throughout the flowering period. She is advertised as an 8 week strain however this one went to 10 before I harvested her so not as fast as most indicas I've grown over the last year. She hermied like crazy and was producing literally bunches of bananas right at the end so I pulled her from the tent. It wasn't a problem though as she had reached full maturity and was ready for harvesting. She was also a very easy plant to grow. Her buds were very dense and heavy for their size. She has a very pungent and sharp tropical fruit smell that reminds me of the summer when I break open a bud. It is a bit sour but mainly sweet with grape tones coming through. Her taste is better than she smells as it has a candy flavour that's hidden from the nose. It's a taste that reminds me of my childhood when I used to eat a lot of sweets that had strong artificial flavours. It's very fruity and has just a little hint of hash to finish it off. It really is a great taste. The effects for this one are fairly one sided with it being right down the sleepy, pain relieving end. She's a great relaxant and is mind numbing if you have that bit to much. She helped me to forget that I had a headache and allowed me to fall asleep not long after having only a small joint. This one made me look blazed though with fire red eyes peeping through narrow slits making my vision a bit lazy to say the least. Dry mouth and thirst is also something you'll likely encounter but it's so worth it for it's satisfying deep smoke. So overall I'm very impressed. Even though she hermied at the end and took a little longer than most she gave us some great, high quality smoke that has good bag appeal, great flavours and a knockout punch in return. Her yields were also great for her size making her good for growers who need to work in small spaces. Not too bad at all....

Ok, you sold me on that one for sure. Mr.Ground gets frequent headaches and I can often be a headache. What a crazy coincidence, I know.

This may help the old boy deal with life and....me.

Nicely written and sounds like a keeper!

I think he's just prone to them :).
I like this one a lot. The only reason I probably wouldn't grow her again is because my life is too short and there are soo many strains I've yet to try. I do however have another seed from Europa Seeds that sounds good. It's called Fruit Slap and is Purple Qurkle x Island Sweet Skunk. There really are too many strains Shed...and such little space

So true! I have seeds to grow but so many clones I can't seem to keep myself from growing out .
I was meant to reply to you but the Heavy G wiped me out lol. As we were saying. I'd like to get back into clones and maybe have a system in which I'll keep a set number of mothers but grow a couple new strains alongside the clones. Then when I find a new strain that is preferable to one of the mothers I own I can retire that mother and replace it with the new one. That way I'll be able to keep up with new releases while having something realiable and familiar to grow at the same time. I suppose that's the next journal. 4 mothers sound manageable to me :)

COTTON CANDY CANE
STRAIN REVIEW

Hey 420. Today's review will be of Emerald Triangle's Cotton Candy Cane. This lovely lady is a 50/50 indica/sativa hybrid and is a cross between Blueberry Headband and Sweet Tooth. I though I had a problem with this one back at the beginning after she sprouted. She looked all mangled and I was concerned she was going to fall behind and create a problem with the canopy causing a large gap. To my surprise she not only recovered and caught up but also surpassed a few other good growing strains. Her growth became fast and strong and she was a thing of beauty. Excellent vegging plant achieving a good size in a short time. After the tent was put into flowering she slowed slightly and didn't have a huge amount of stretch like I had imagined she would after seeing her during veg. She had an excellent structure to work with being easy to defoliate allow for better light penetration. She had a great flower to leaf ratio and a nice symmetrical feel to the plant with predictable side branching. Her buds grew large but have an almost hard sponge feel. Not the densest but the size makes up for it. The buds are beautiful though and are like little cone shaped towers flecked with lots of colour and a good helping of frost. Good bag appeal indeed. She achieved all this in about 9 weeks being a reasonably fast plant that was also very easy to grow. She has a very plain smell to be honest. Slightly berry with and OG twist maybe. Sounds good but it's nothing new and feels kind of average. When you break open a bud and have sniff inside she has a Blueberry and Diesel kick that is much more pleasant than when you open the jar. There's a very small hint of pine as well hidden in there. She tastes very sweet. Sweeter than she smells with way more emphasis on the Blueberry pushing the Diesel into the background. It's a good taste and is very smooth making for a very easy smoke. Her effects are a good mix starting with a creeping high that starts up top and travels throughout the body leading to a more mellow yet completely alert and functional feeling. I experienced no couchlock of any type and felt quite happy and uplifted throughout the entire session but by the end my thoughts were peaceful and I felt calm. Though I didn't use this in a social situation I think it would work well as it sparks creativity creates a feeling of ambition. I believe this strain would be of medical use to those with anxiety as it made me feel more outgoing. I've suffered with social anxiety for much of my life and this gave me a little bit more of an edge so to speak. So overall this is a good strain with medicinal properties that is quite potent and has excellent bag appeal. She has some decent size buds and is easy to grow. Her buds explode in the grinder and are fluffy making it a pleasure to roll with. Great strain for beginners looking for an easy harvest of good quality smoke but I think that connoisseurs would be a little disappointed with her flavour profile. Here she is. Enjoy....

I like the 50/50 sound of this one! And you Brits are so good at your hand-rolleds :).
Why thank you Shed. My friend puts me to shame. He rolls what we call "flaming backflips"! It's not as dramatic as it sounds lol

Here's a Cali Orange I'm about to light up....
