ProfessorFlora Presents: The Flowering Inferno

I had to move the nutrient barrel as well and ended up getting some in my mouth.
I know it was gross, but your pistils will come in so much stronger for it. Just keep an eye on that top node.

but dat leaf to calyx ratio on Bubba doh!
Cheers Shed. She's gonna be a beaut at the end. I rarely enter PoTM but maybe I will with this one.

£20 says getting that in your mouth is much less harmful than whatever was growing in the kitchen waste barrel.
It was a harrowing experience but I now have a clean and non smelly garden for my efforts....

That hole was already in the floor I think.

If I stand still for too long my feet start to root to the floor.

Ooff! Think I just threw up in my mouth a little
Time for some nicer news
:thanks:

Things are looking great over here Prof! Everything is nice and green not one bad leaf in site and the flowers are looking in point too! If Bubba goes into plant of the month you got my vote!

You grow beautiful plants, Prof. I'm loving all the close-ups of the Bubba and the Bomb but the close-ups of the Bomb are the ones that I think you should enter into either Plant of the Month or Photo of the Month. They're gorgeous.

Lol. Imagine how I felt! It was all in my beard and mustache too.

Thanks N! Seems we have had some good luck. I really didn't want to bring any of the problems from the previous journal with me and so far we have been ok. I did find a few aphids on Bubba's Breath when I trimmed her up last but they got hit with some ISO and I can't find anymore.

Even if she turns out crap? I'll remember this lol.

Thanks HG and thanks for bringing the conversation back to the Bomb. It was getting a little Bubba biased there for a second which is a shame as Bomb Seeds are sponsors.
The Big Bomb is pretty incredible really and almost everything about her is exceptional. She's fast, big, pretty, frosty, easy to grow and really stinks. I would probably mention how much she smells more often if it wasn't for Bubba next to her who is already going into smelly overtime.

Hey 420. Time for a little training update. Today I tackled the Northern Lights X Skunk and got her ready for flower. First I removed all of the large fans which where hiding almost everything....

Doesn't look like my hair anymore, does she....

I'm glad I did this as I found a pollen sack hidden in the middle. Also none of this would have received any light and would stay wrinkled like this. This is a speedy plant and is more advanced than most would be at flowering day 18....
IMG_20210305_120645_copy_1440x1920.jpg

She looks even smaller with the fans gone....

Time to get her tied down....

And here we are....

Time for the other two.....

The Orange Cane and Melon Gum have received similar treatment as before but they haven't been trimmed up as they don't need it yet. They will probably get a shaving soon though....

I'll give them some time to settle then think about what to do next. I may be able to get both of these in with the NLxS if I'm lucky. That'll free up some space and create, at least the illusion of control.
That's all for today. Hope you're all good and well.
Happy growing everyone.

Nice work Professor! Wouldn't laying it flat be better in veg than in flower?
When you say "veg" do you mean the first few weeks of flower or do you mean the veg stage? If you mean the veg stage then I think they were already quite flat. As they had almost no growth below the eight main tops then there was no need to flatten them anymore. However I think they could have benefited from being lowered as they went over the first few weeks of flower.
I call this method Octo-Profs. It's like a lazy man's Quads.

Hey HH. I did think of you when I selected the Sour Strawberry. The options were those or a couple Afghaniberry which are limited edition. I went with the Crockett's seeds though because I remember you saying that you really liked them.

The CBD strain really interests me for the effects but the plant looks like it could be quite pretty also. If it turns out that it's not for me then the in-laws can have it lol. I'm sure it'll be fine.

It's getting closer to the end of my first decade of growing and I have noticed that handling seeds is becoming more of an issue. I don't think the gloves will help with precision though lol
wow congratulations fella. been on and off for 2 decades ( nft in my 20's , clones only same strain for nearly 5 years. boy did it get boring and since growing with you and others here for the past 3 years , grow properly now.lol) Seen the whole scene transform from having to go to another town( or ideally a friend for me !) , to buy a replacement bulb for stealth. Not too mention one person buying seeds in Holland and then cloning to as many as possible. here we are now with a virtual endless supply in every configuration possible . seems we are not far of buy a seed drop it in the machine and come back in 14 weeks to collect the buds !. lol
These youngsters don't know they are born prof . heehee .Love how much has been injected into this thing we do now. Some amazingly innovative stuff around to help now too.

Now that sounds like it was invented for folks like me too.lol

Apologies. I meant genetics. Like keeping a mother or making some more beans with anything that you liked.

Hey GG. I've always been a sucker for variety but still need to make things a little easier for myself. The Bubba's Breath and Big Bomb were a bad pairing. If we'd had two Big Bomb's we would have been laughing. Two Bubba's Breath's would have been work but wouldn't have filled the tent.
I don't know why I'm telling you any of that lol.

Hey Shed. She is looking better each day and is certainly going to have some nice flowers.

The Big Bomb has been a dream to grow so far. It needs some more work done now though. Think we might need some bamboo soon.

See, you're another one I thought had been growing for much longer.

This feels a bit like the Mad Hatter's tea party. Happy unbirthday to me! Now, would you like some brew?
you had me at variety prof. :adore: Hoping to see the "BOMB" prove its name . looked through their stuff many times and pondered. Nice call.
I have now stopped trying to match any of the ones I choose to add in and just for the bastards to grow my way now. heehee. might not be the best for the different growing characteristics but I play dumb with their cries of protest now and make use of ties as any decent master would with unruly subjects ( i.e Jabba and Princess leia! ). You have managed the shrinking room excellent mate and loved the cbd comments to fam. hahaha
this diary flies fast. just trying to catch up on the seeds comments bit and handling them, yet again we seem to have hit patches of failure/dilemma at similar times with the same subject. lol locked in universally buddy.lol . only wish one of us was in front of the other to find the resolve without the stress.lol I don't touch them at all now and drop them strait into coco and tray from the packet or tip and scoop with a bit of card. lol I am convinced I will add an oil or trace of something to affect them. All been successful since ??.

Hey GG! Lol, I can only imagine what it must've been like growing it back then without the info we have now. It was bad enough trying to buy it. Must have felt great back then to make it successfully to harvest.

Speaking of doing things the old way, check this out.
Mrs.F got a little bit of bud as I have been rationing her and it turned out to be some pretty nice stuff....

I think it has some Cookie genetics in the mix as it is very dessert-like and quite pungent. The best bit though....

Bomb Seeds were a breeder I have been meaning to try for sometime now. It was a toss up between the THC Bomb or the Big Bomb as they are both advertised as being gertmungus.
As for seeds, I've had a few issues recently which I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's the oil on my finger! Didn't think of that lol. Seriously though, I think it might just be as simple as temps being a little low at the moment.

Lmao, of course you did!! Nice little bonus you got there. I really do wish all seeds came with a tester bud, so you can see what you’re in for. Maybe someday when it’s finally fully legalized and I start my weed and seed (circle R) business. :laughtwo:

My memory is so bad now that I can't actually remember if this is my first bag seed or not lol. I think I tried one before but it never cracked. These look healthy so we will have to wait and see.
That would be awesome! Vice versa too. Buy a gram of weed from a dispensary and get a free seed of the strain you purchased.

temps def hit mine during the heatwaves in summer. too many non starters after so much positive sucesses .lol. went back to the coco in the tray and no contact with the seed and it has just been a total success for the past 3 germ runs. plugs catch the seed husks too easily , coco plugs can get too compacted but not show it till the seed is stuck so coco it was back to coco loose
