ProfessorFlora Presents: The Flowering Inferno

I have pill bottles of good bag seed from my old hippie friend! Like from the past 20 years.... I hope they switch up the rules a bit. Like members who have been around longer than a year can give stuff away or trade if they want. Idk, I read that and I wanna hook you up. I found a few gems last year! One plant had pink pistils!
As tempting as it sound, I'm probably in enough trouble with everything as it is. I'd probably just kill them anyway lol. Thanks for the offer though.
Nice roots, and :thanks:
As the number one fan of "Root News", I knew you'd enjoy that.

Hey 420. I got bored so I thought I'd snap some pics on the phone for a little midweek update.
I don't think there is much longer left for the first two to enter the inferno. Next week's update will probably be the final one before the harvest update.

Also, it looks like I will be doing another sponsors run with both @Mars Hydro and @Weed Seeds Express. I'll let you all know what is happening there as soon as I know myself. Should be a good time though.
Hope everyone is well and behaving themselves.
Happy growing everyone.

Hey Prof, finally caught up fell a few pages behind! The Big Bomb and the Bubba are coming along beautifully and man the frost on those 2 is really impressive!
I didn’t know the Orange Cane was a Slurricane cross I bet that one will really perform in the frost department as well!

All the talk about gaming consoles was a trip down memory lane for me! Me and my 2 brothers were really into gaming, we had a Nes, Snes , Sega Genesis, Sega CD , Sega Saturn as well as all the PlayStation consoles! I still play video games a bit now, I even managed to get the white rhino of gaming the PlayStation 5! Although it feels like a bit of a waste of money because I never have time to actually play it lol.

Yeah yeah just more of that snow they saw in England this winter. Nothing new here. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Lol. Speaking of snow, it's update time!

Thanks N. They really don't have much longer left now.

I bought it for that very reason. Real Slurricane is still too expensive for me currently so I went with a cross instead.
You're not wrong there. The trichs on this plant are already incredible.

Are you Mr Ground by any chance?!?!

Lol. Sounds about right. Anyone into VR yet or are we all officially too old to give a shit?

That's why I didn't get an N64. The price of each game was crazy.

Flowering Day 56

Hey 420. We are approaching the end of the first round of plants to be flowered in this journal and I think it has been a smooth start. It's not over quite yet so I don't want to speak too soon. I'd say we will probably make it to the weekend and then we will be getting the snips out.
Both of the plants are looking great and have made it to the end, relatively unscathed. They are not completely clean though as I have found some aphids on both the Bubba and the Bomb. If it was a couple of weeks earlier I would be concerned but as these are coming down soon I'm not too worried. They spread like fire though so I have sprayed both plants with ISO. I've have had them in the grow room in small pockets for a long time now and they're are a real pain to get rid off.

So here are the ladies in what is most likely to be their final round of pics before the harvest....

Flowering Day 28

As soon as the other tent is finished up, these two and the NLxS will be going into it. That means no more dirty cupboard and no more dirty red light.

The Orange Cane is quite quickly becoming my new best friend. I will get her out of the cupboard for some better pics soon but it has been busy and I haven't had many appropriate moments in which it can be done recently. She is hot stuff though and already has some beautiful colours and a gooey layer of crystals. I can't imagine the flowers getting to be of a huge size but there are plenty of them and they will likely be dense and compact. She is also beginning to smell and yes. It is good. Candy, sweet and a bit funky is how she smells now but it's still really early. I can see this one being a winner....

The Melon Gum is doing very well indeed. Beautiful and compact little plant with a lot of character. She has many more bud sites than the OC but is much smaller in size. This one is meant to be a potential super-yielder so I expect her to deliver as much as her buddy. She is nice and healthy though has a touch of the N claw but I'm certainly not complaint. She smells fruity now as well....

The Northern Lights X Skunk is a bit of a wildcard. She isn't that big but is covered head to toe in flowering sites. Some which I think are far too crowded but also difficult to thin out. She will be joining her friends next door and sharing the tent for the remainder of the grow as I will need some more space very soon for another project.
The NLxS seems like a bit of a mini monster and I'm sure would be a great plant for people looking for a mother for SOG setups as she is just a block of weed lol. This one is also starting to smell very nice. It is like a perfume smelling Skunk. It feels oldskool....

You sure grow some pretty plants, Professor. Well done.

I like this photo best:

I love all the orange. I kinda thought that most of the psychedelic stuff was due to the lights in the tent. If that's not correct, I'd like to know because like the Prof, I want to grow colourful flowers.

Good morning, HG. What a lovely comment to wake up to.
You grow some pretty plants, others not so pretty.
Hello darkness my old friend....
And I had no idea I was supposed to bring my 3D glasses!
They won't be a requirement for much longer. Good thing too as those plants look gorgeous.

The lights do play a large part in how the pics turn out. I do love those pics but I wouldn't say that they were true to how the plants actually look.
I take lots of pics though, in all manner of ways. These are with an emphasis on the 3000k lighting and using a flash with the brightness turned down. My favourite pics are taken outdoors on a sunny day but in the shade. The colours show up really nicely and the pics are clear.

Just got through all of this thread and I must say the pictures are great. I have been growing off and on for over 50 years. At first if you bought a bag or lid as we use to call them of something that seemed outstanding I would save the seeds and yes back then there were a lot of seeds in every bag you bought. Most were mainly Mexican but in the late 1960's and early 1970's, fellows were coming back from Viet Nam and Germany so that added to the mix. Forget any seeds from Germany it was all hash packed in Marantz speakers but from Nam there were weed with seeds in bags packed in Pioneer and other brands of speakers. My growing seriously started after reading "The Connoisseur's Handbook Of Marijiana" by William Daniel Drake Jr copyright 1971, still have my well worn copy. Times have changed a lot since back then. I like to grow in the sun and that is the way I started but I lived in the country back then. My biggest crop was in the early 1980's with 65 plants over 8 feet tall with some coming in at over 12 feet with forearm sized top colas over 2 feet in length. I long for those days but did think I was bullet proof from the law back then. Then I started having kids and had to somewhat straighten up a bit. I have spent thousands of dollars on video games and consoles over the years but only tried one time to play one, not my cup of coffee.

such a nice handful of picture

i am almost there as well

you put smile on my face

sweeeeeeetttt

Lol, thanks twinsun. I have the worst case of "itchy trimmer finger" right now. Really I'm just waiting for an appropriate evening to sit down and get comfortable. Then it's time to get sticky!
Seriously..

Lovely flowers Prof! Not much longer now.
I seriously like that song and it in no way makes me feel sad. It makes me feel appreciative for some reason.

See "itchy trimmer finger" above.

That was a great read and thanks for checking out my journal.

I would love to grow in the sun. Properly I mean and not what I have planned for later this year which is to put some tiny flowers hidden in a few locations.
If I managed to complete a 65 plant grow I'd still be trimming when the next season's harvest comes around lol. Respect for that.
I can only imagine how the culture has changed over the decades. I'm still relatively new. Blueberry, OG Kush, Northern Lights and many other modern classics were already established by the time I got on board.
Speaking of which. Welcome aboard OilFieldTrash.
And here I had to go and buy the Advents!
That must've been why the cones were always torn open when we were kids. My dad blamed me for that.

When I finally had to replace the woofers because the rubber edge had decayed, I found no weed inside. This would have been on a pair of large 1971 Advents. They easily could have planted half a pound in each!
:(

I still have them by the way, tucked in storage in the garage.
I don't remember seeing Advents but these Marantz and Pioneer speakers were probably 30 inches tall and 24 inches wide and deep so you could get way more stuffed into them.

Flowering Day 60 and Harvest Day

Hey 420. I made it to day 60 before the itch became too much to bare. They've not been chopped yet as that will be a job for this evening when the kids are out of the way. I have removed them from the tent though in preparation for the coming trim. Here are the final pics of the Big Bomb and the Bubba's Breath before they get the chop....

Big Bomb....

Bubba's Breath....

I'll most likely post the harvest pics tomorrow, all depends on how it goes later.

I have had the chance for a move around have put the rest of the flowering plants into the larger tent. Consolidated weed....

In other news (not Root News) we have a new tent and a new light to play with and I'm expecting the @Weed Seeds Express GSC seeds to turn up any day now.
It's all go in the inferno this week lol. I'm off to go and get hyped up for the harvest. Happy growing everyone.
