ProfessorFlora Presents: Growing On A Journey

Hey, 420! Hope everyone has had a great new year.
Today is flowering day number 6 and the plants are all beginning their stretch. I've not used soil for a couple years and was a little bit shocked at how much slower growth is, compared to using coco. I have perhaps made a little mistake and have used a cheap soil which doesn't seem to be very good at supplying the roots with air. When the pots dry out it (the soil) goes rock solid and takes a long time to absorb any water. I won't be using it again and will probably go back to coco after this grow. Either that or just use some better soil. That brings me onto this next part quite nicely. I have got my original Blueberry back from my friend who was not happy with his attempt at growing it because it became stunted and didn't grow big enough for him. He cloned it again and will run it in hydro but that's his adventure and not mine. We both agreed that it was probably the soils fault as to why it didn't get bigger than it did and he only uses 400w or 600w hps lighting. It would have cost a lot to grow a little so he was going to throw it away but I said I'll finish it off. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it has purple flowers from the get go so that's pretty cool....

Here are the 2 Purple Punch plants. One is great and will be a nice size by the end. The other was always a bit weak but I'm going through with it. It's health so I'm not too bothered....

The first Blueberry which I put into flower is looking good. No sign of flowers yet but it could be a purple colour like her sister....

The 3 mixed up plants are all beginning to stretch. They are all healthy but I'm worried about the compact soil issue and I hope that they stretch a bit before the flowers show....

And finally we have the return of the small but beautiful Blueberry. She's around 4 weeks into flower so is on full strength nutrients from now on....

Quite often purple strains don't show their colours until late in flower but this plant is displaying right away....

Well, that's it for today. If all goes well then we'll have some early bud with this grow.
Happy growing everyone.
