PotChimp's Side Projects

I was thinking of a cut today that I stopped looking for years ago because it was clone only. It was called Casey Jones. I still don't think anybody has it in seed form; maybe I'll have me a cup of hot tea and look later..... :nomo:
It's available in seed form from Devil's Harvest Seeds (breeder). I don't know what the stock would be like at any of the seed banks, though. :hmmmm:

I remember looking into this years ago since I always suspected that Pineapple Express was a cross between Pineapple and either Trainwreck or Casey Jones but the true origins of the PE are some ancient secret, I guess?

Talk about weird..... That's what I just now rolled a blunt of. I just lit it; Pineapple Express.
I just harvested some PE a few weeks ago and that's what I'm smoking, too...mixed with some White Strawberries I also just harvested. :high-five:

PE is one of my favorite strains but, TBH, the pheno I just harvested wasn't the best example and will end up being culled. I've got some more seeds and will pop another, at some point, but a bunch of other strains need to be sampled before I get back to it. :D

This PE pheno ain't bad. You can see the two males flowers where it hermied, though:

It's sad that I had to toss it. Nice rock hard nugs, good yield and a good buzz to back it up. It's starting to smell a little like Pineapple now that it's been jarred up for a month or so.

Looks great, Brother! :bravo:
It sucks you had to toss it, though! :sorry:

My PE looked awesome, but I'm not really happy with the terpene profile and the plant had a lot of small side branches that had lots of small/underdeveloped nugs. I've grown better samples of the PE in the past, so I know some better phenos are out there. Here are some pics of my PE a week or two before harvest a few weeks ago:

Yours looks frostier than the one I had. I like the first PE I grew about 5-6 years ago the best of the three times I've grown it.
Frost wasn't the problem! :D And, if the terps were really there, I could live with all that underdeveloped side branching, cuz' the yield wasn't bad, it was just a PITA to trim all those small buds. I grew it last about 8-9 years ago, which is the correct timeframe since I kept the pheno going for about two years. At the time, I was running the SOG and had a fantastic pheno with real fruity terps and huge, fat colas. It's the plant the won my one and only POTM contest here back in 2012 (maybe the reason for my affection? :hmmmm: ). The seeds came from G-13 which is the same breeder I used for the last round, though, I imagine they're a few generations ahead of the seeds I got close to ten years ago.

All three of these Cannabis Afghanica x Apollo 13 f2 plants are ready to put on the drying rack; this one's the only one on the night cycle so I'll get it tomorrow night. A big ol' fatso top cola :cheesygrinsmiley:

These are three different Headbanger f2 phenos:

And a pretty long but not thick Nevil's Haze cola:

I was wondering if anybody here that runs these dimmable type LEDs could answer this - I turned down the IO (current) instead of the VO (voltage) to dim the panels. Does this equal a decrease in the amount of power that the driver uses, or in other words, a cheaper electric bill?

Three of those twelve Apollo 13 f3 seeds are cracked open so far. I'll get more pics up soon. Those Chemdawg D BX3 plants have transplant wilt, so I'll wait to take pics of that.

Hmm, I always thought you adjust current, not voltage. :hmmmm:

That's a little odd. A guy's gonna run into trouble if he drops the voltage to half, right? It would be fine if the amperage went to half.

Connoisseur Genetics uses Casey Jones in some of their crosses. They have a huge selection and seem to be decent to deal with. i am pretty sure he hooked @FutRfarmer up pretty good not too long ago. I believe I even saw him mention reversing a Casey Jones some time in the near future.

The video was about what to do if the light panel gets too hot and moving the driver out of the grow area doesn't help enough. It seemed odd to me, also.

Hey Yeti :passitleft:
hey @PotChimp :passitleft:

He uses casey Jones in a Good amount of crosses, I just ran NL#5 haze X Casey jones. very nice:thumb: He will take care of you for sure. Sent me a life time of gems, I'll be digging into them very soon.

The first plant is a Cannabis Afghanica x Apollo 13 f2 that I'm certain of (because I just chopped it now). and the second pic is GTH#1 (I'm not sure if it's the right plant) that I chopped a few days ago. The first had a thick main cola, and the second grew really dense. I forgot to take pics, but I lost probably a half ounce on both due to grey mold. I tossed the whole ounce:

Both were in the main cola and I could only salvage the very tops. :(

Solution for first problem - Top the plant or grow it during the Winter if it's prone to growing a thick main cola.
Solution for second problem - Defoliate the plant enough to give it some air if it's prone to leaf clustering:

Especially if you put multiple plants in one pot (I'll take more leaves off than this tomorrow):

I tried a different camera setting there but it didn't work. Same camera setting; NY47 plant:

I just put this Nevil's Haze into bloom:

Apollo 13 f2:

Carnival (I'm going to turn the image brightness up and the flash for the next pics to see if that helps):
