PotChimp's Side Projects

Here's a good example of what I mean by backup :thumb: Since I know this Mendocino Purple Kush is a keeper, I took three clones at the beginning of bloom. If all three of them would have did this (might yet make it, but it's gonna be rough):

I'd be out. I have a reveg plant going right now so I don't lose the pheno. I leave about this much growth on it (or a little more) each time:

However, the other two clones of it did okay (I always take at least three):

..... so I can toss that backup reveg now.

Thanks Chimp that helps me understand what you are doing with the reveg and back up clones. So you have done a few runs to find a keeper of the phenos that you want and saving them. How many runs did you do for your pheno hunt

I don't really do runs of something too often. I do all of the seeds I buy at once sometimes. Every keeper I've gotten so far came as a surprise to me. I have an idea from experience what to buy and what I'm looking for, but the really good ones come out of the blue. I hate to discourage anybody on the subject, but in my experience an exceptional plant is probably a 1 in 200 shot.

Now I see why you do reveging when you get lucky you want to hold onto it for as long as possible and you can get plenty of clones that way Thanks for all the information it is appreciate. I am a newbie but trying to still all the knowledge I can Thanks

I've been thinking about quitting blunt wraps lately because of the cost and the product itself being made from tobacco, but I don't know of any rice paper products on the market that are made the same size. Anybody have any ideas? Blunt wraps are 4" from side to side, so if any rice paper out there is that wide I could stick two or three together if they're not tall enough and roll bigger joints.....
