PotChimp's Side Projects

I've thought of a few good ones I better not put up here. :cheesygrinsmiley:
I chopped three MPKs, two Apollo 13 f2s (one was the seed mother for my Apollo 13 f3 seeds), and a Cannabis Afghanica plant today. I think I may grow a few of those CA x Apollo 13 f2 seeds this next grow to see what they came out like.

P.S.: I saw a car over in Eye-Rack blown to smithereenies on the highway; man, they weren't kidding about those Tuh-kah-duh airbags causing harm to drivers, huh? :jawdropper:

I'm thinking that I let these go too long in bloom. Foxtails have the main cola looking different on this Apollo 13 f2 that I'm doing a reveg with:

At the top of this pic you can see the trichomes on the leaf bottoms, and at the bottom of the pic you can see how frosty the leaf tops are. I like the leaf to calyx ratio, too. Easy trim for a lazy chimp like me:

I'm pulling that one today because the stems are starting to get rubbery.
Can't wait to smoke some more of this; I toked the first crop up quick :cheesygrinsmiley:
Nevil's Haze:

I knew somebody else had to remember it, speaking of old strains like X-Mas Bud! :yahoo:

Monkey's Paw is a mostly sativa variety from (not sure if I can put their name here) and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±55 days) and outdoors. (not sure if I can put their name here) Monkey's Paw is/was also available as feminized seeds.
Monkey's Paw is a fabled old school cultivar from the 1970's that we've been lucky enough to obtain and keep preserved for our genetic vault.

Wow that sounds So Good. I am a newbie so I have a dumb question. Why do you reveg after the plant has flowered and budded up or why do you reveg

Unless I take a clone at (or before) the beginning of bloom, the only way I have of keeping something I like is to reveg the plant. Sometimes a strain that I don't think is gonna have a hair on its a$$ surprises me and starts looking chimpworthy and I think to myself, "Dang, I didn't get a clone." So I do it to keep a good pot going. Or as backup (if clones of the same plant don't take).

Thank you Chimp I never knew why people reveg

I've had this MPK going for over a year now (probably two) doing that. Same with this Apollo 13 f2. I'm revegging a GTH#1 right now because I didn't realize I only cloned one pheno (I have two), and if I don't it's gone forever.
I took a Raspberry Cough clone when the plant was big enough (I just put it into bloom) because I thought for sure I'd like it a lot, but now after smoking a little of it I'm not so sure. Sometimes the plan backfires on me. :D

I see what you mean keeping them for a long time so you can keep them going. So do you take clones while it is flowering or you just do that for plants you want to reveg, or do you do the cloning after they reveg. It is strange how one strain works Great for some and not so good for others. I guess that has to do with our endocannabinoid systems all being different. Shed posted a Great video explaining it. Very interesting if you get a chance swing by his journal and check it out. I found a strain I LOVE it is Gold Leaf from 420 so I am searching for something along those lines that has a similar buzz but Stronger in the head. My next tent run will be Killer A5 Haze and Blue Dream to get some good sativa action going on. The KA5H is supposed to have no celling and have a Great head buzz kind of trippy so I am really looking forward to that :snowboating:

I usually take clones during veg when the branch is big enough (6" after being cut maybe?), but I've taken them during the first 3 weeks of bloom before (they don't take as well for me then). When I get a plant to reveg I take clones from it, and by the time the clones take and start growing the reveg I took them from is big enough to put into bloom again.
