PotChimp's Side Projects

I think it’s maybe what happens sometimes when very dense bud grows foxtails? The Chocolope bud normally has a very compact consistency sort of like hard rubber - like a bouncy ball. I’m pretty sure they’d bounce well if I tried. Not these ones obviously, but when it grows rounder shaped buds... I do find the perpetual three-bladed leaf thing a bit weird. Does anyone else get plants that grow that way with only three blades throughout?
Usually when plants grow plants with 1 or 3 bladed leaves it is due to photoperiod stress. Meaning they got thrown from one photoperiod to another. Did you monster crop the clone or take it in flower at all? Usually if you leave them in veg long enough they will come out of it but it can sometimes take months!

Yeah I’ve had that happen a couple times :( This Chocolope has had that reveg look since it first became a clone, and I’ve vegged and bloomed a few cycles of it since then. It’s taken on a weird floppy twisty Dr Seuss-plant look.

Here's the 818 I was talking about

I haven't seen a leaf with more than three blades on this since the original plant I cloned it from (Ak47):

This round of my Chocolope clones is growing kind of offbeat, too:

I've got them potted with some chicken $hit. I used it on this X-Mas Bud plant too:

Here's a bud from my other X-Mas Bud plant:

What’s the smoke like from that Xmas bud? That stuff, if it’s the same stuff, was on my wish list for decades. Around here (BC) we used to have something we called Christmas Bud in maybe the late 80s early 90s. I think it was sort of one of the last sativas we had around before everything went for shit in sativa-land. Not that we had any idea what a sativa was at the time. Just dumb lab-rats scratching around for whatever crumbs we could get from the dealers. We were working so hard just to find a way to get stoned, we didn’t have time to realize there was more than one kind of stoned. Or even if there was, more than one type of being stoned, we couldn’t remember what.... uhhh... whatever it was I was saying ...

On the strength of that last pic alone I’ll be putting chicken shjt in any soil I mix now. Cheers Chimp

I bought Pine Tar Kush seeds from Hazeman Seeds after finding out it was rumored to be X-Mas Bud (for the same reason; old fond memories of it), and afterwards it was confirmed by the people who were involved that it was actually X-Mas Bud, and I'm assuming it's the original strain. Sure smells close, if not exact. I'll give it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as what it's like.

Those two Chocolope plants and the one younger X-Mas Bud plant are the only plants I've tried that chicken $hit on so far (I used FF's granulars on the older X-Mas Bud plant). I'll keep everybody posted on how it works.

It doesn’t leave your pineal gland pining for more then? Could be that some phenos are pinier than others. Sounds like it might be worth buying just for the pine. The Christmas bud smelled like a Xmas tree.

Starting to look like a bloom tent :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'm not too sure if it was a good idea, but I put all five Headbanger f2 plants in the same 8 gallon pot and put them into bloom. I don't have much room, so I'm gonna do the same thing to these last three Apollo 13 f2s.
