I never check them. One of them did start getting brown hairs, though. The other one should be soon.

This Ak47 clone is leafy (every Ak47 plant I've grown is, though):

Yeah, this other 600w HPS Tikal plant is starting to get brown hairs too; I just couldn't see them under the yellow light. And it's thicker, so my 600w HPS system is here to stay:
I'm glad I switched it from a 400w HPS, though.

$$$$$. I'm getting leaf tacoing, so I checked the airflow by holding a blunt up to the intake of my reflector and it's not pulling as hard as it should. All my tents are like that, and I haven't changed it in a while. I noticed it when I checked this Chemdawg D BX3 clone:

What I'll probably wind up doing is starting plants under the 315w CMH and moving them under the 600w HPS after about 3-6 weeks, depending on the strain.
It looks like both of these Tikal plants have that self-manicuring gene
All the skinny leaves dry up and fall off. A lazy chimp like me couldn't ask for better

I've read that carbon filter can be cleaned and the carbon can be reactivated. I've taken one apart and swapped the ends out to make it scrub odors better. I've got a 8" fan reduced down to a 6" carbon filter right now. Probably overkill for my 4x8 but it's scrubbing the shit out of the odors 
Does your filter have the flange that allows you to flip it? One thing I was thinking of was to put the carbon filter on the output side of the fan. Since it's been pulling air all this time, then maybe pushing air through it would blow the dust and sediment out (which is why I think my airflow is weak). It might give me a little time. I've had this filter for about a year and a half, so I better toss it. I'm getting some roughed up plants because of the heat, but most of them are close to chop.

Is your carbon filter just scrubbing air, or is the flow also going thru the hps hood to exhaust heat from the hood too

Both. I leave one end of the reflector open to pull heat from both the reflector and the tent, then pull it through the carbon filter with the 8" duct that's attached on the other side.

I buy the non-flanged filters, so I could screw it to the other end and try that, but the filter's old and needs to be replaced anyway.

Oh I see. Thanks brother! When I was running hps air cooled hoods I had separate fans for each. I'm getting ready to go back to hps. I think I'll hook it up like yours

That duct I didn't label goes to another tent. The closet and locker ducts are 4".

All's I've got for fans right now is a 4" and a 8". I'll end up copying your setup at some point. I just set up a 4'x8' in a shed with some blurples. I'm going to put a 1k hps in it soon

Damn, Subcool put out a strain called Scarlet Queen. Gotta get the funds for that one. Cannaventure Seeds put out another Tennessee Hogsbreath cross, too. Been wanting to see that for a while.
