Poor, CFL, Stealth, Maybe a Little Luck?

Yo DFW guy, sry i havnt posted anything in so long, i've been moving around too much with no net access... great job tho man things are looking fantastic!
i built a new box to fit a 400w hps hortilux bulb and reflector in..the box's concept is derived from your design, i tried the cardbord box and cfl's, same as your set up pretty much, but they outgrew it too fast.. i only LST'd one of them..
the new box is plywood, about 6' tall 3 1/2' wide and 18" thick. its working great tho.. i have more powerful fans and a lot more lumens. I also just started 2 clones off of my blueberry plant which is 2 weeks or so into flowering.. i am hoping for the best..
your fan leaves had some browning and yellowing...you said you thought that was PH? i have the SAME problem..i thought it was too much nutes, but i'll get a PH meter...let me know if you know more about the problem.. thanks a lot!

Below are all the things I used to take my clones.
Squirt bottle w/ water
bowl of water
schultz rooting hormone ($3 at walmart)
FFOF potting soil (with perlite added)
razor blade
alcohol (for sterilizing razor blade)
and cups to plant in.

Below is how I keep the clones. They are in 2-liter coke bottles cut apart near the bottom.

So basically I'm just going list the steps for how I did it. This is in no way a legit how-to tutorial, I'm just explaining how I got it done.
1. I got my plant and found a small side branch that had multiple nodes on it. The clone should have at least 1 node on the branch planted below ground.
2. I made ready my planting medium. I put soil in a cup, made cuts in the bottom, watered it thoroughly, sprinkled a little dolomite lime on top, and made a small but deep hole for the clone to be planted in.
3. After I found the branch I would clone I took my sterilized razor blade and cut it off. The cut should be made at a 45 degree angle to maximize surface area for rooting. The clone should have about 1" & 1/2" planted below the surface, including at least 1 node. Make the cut accordingly.
4. Immediately after cutting I soaked the cut end of the clone in my bowl of water for about 5 seconds, dipped it in the rooting hormone, tapped off the excess, and planted it
(basically followed the instructions labeled on the root hormone). I then misted it with water, misted my diy humidity dome and placed the clone inside.
5. I quickly realized that taking clones sounds a lot more dramatic than it really is lol. I make sure to check on the plants at least once every 12 hours to keep the dome misted, though I typically do it breakfast lunch and dinner.

Any questions? Ask.

Little info guys, per GMT1975A's advice I've been adding molasses every feeding (2tsp per gal) & the plants seem to enjoy it. I wish I could see the microbes rejoice ;)

DFW-Guy, legit or not, it works, ^5. Keep up the great job bro.
Thanks man :peace:
:goodjob:"D.I.Y BY DFW GUY": Tell ya man diy :adore:king!!:adore:
haha, thanks. I've always done DYI instead of buying things, I'm a cheap ass lol.

Great job on the box! Super cool that you got the base idea from my box. Ya I first figured the problems w/ my leaves was from feeding to much, but if that was the case the problems would have happened a lot earlier as I've kept the same feeding schedual since I first switched to flower. My best guess says my problem was the PH, and here's why. The FF Tiger Bloom is PH adjusted to be acidic (for storage reasons), and the grower is supposed to balance the PH to their liking. I never balanced the PH so every feeding slowly lowered my PH little by little. After about 6 weeks the PH dropped low enough to start locking out nutrients & that's when the problems started. I fixed the problem by flushing & sprinkling dolomite lime on top of my soil. To keep my PH up now I put a couple little lime pellets in my water. Seems to be working well enough. I never did buy PH test equip.
Awesome job! I can't wait to set up indoors. This weather is tough!
I can't imagine, seriously I've never seen more than an inch of snow lol.
Ya not long at all....I like head high and would chop when all milky...but some like to wait for amber trichomes ....One hell of a job here brother grower :passitleft:
I'm going to wait for the first sign of amber trichs, then start flushing.
DFW-Guy, your grow looks fab bro, sorry to hear about the interruption. I think if it is cooler out as you say, your plants should be fine. Hope all goes well bro, really enjoying your journal. Keep up the excellant work, you will be in buds soon!
Peace man, all will go well :yummy:
Dude you will be supprised comcerial weed can be made into #1 Herbs, well pretty close . Once weed go to seed its stop producing resin. And puts all it's energy into seed production. I always like the phase sensi 'A sex straved goddess' Looks good dude. I don't think moving your plants will hurt much. Wood be nice to keep kind of close to your lite cycle tho. If not what do you have to lose you was going to cut em anyways? +
Yup, I can't wait to see what this will be like sensimilla :peace:

LOL, We get frost that thick! :)
Insane.
Good news! One of my clones has new growth :yummy:
There's a few sets of new, deformed, leaves! It's 8 days old. The other one which is the same age doesn't seem to have anything new, but it will soon I know it. So I removed the "dome" from the one w/ the growth as it shouldn't need it anymore.

Hell yeah DFW!! Glad to see your clones are doing well.

If they seem a little droppy its normal, but if the get really droppy then just spray the lid and put it back on for a few hours, then take it off for a few, and just repeat the process but stretch the off period longer and longer each time. This "hardens" them off so that it will take to the new enviorment much better.

Hey dfw-guy! AMAZING GROW!!!! Buds look SO YUMMY!!! And for anyone who thinks they don't have room or money to grow, well we'll just bring em in here so you can show em how it's done!!! FANTASTIC JOB!!! Such nice buds coming on for you!!! :smokin:I'll be cheerin' ya on! :cheer::popcorn::cheer:

Well the drama of moving the plants is over. I had 1 slip-up though. during a car ride elsie tipped over and because of that, all the perlite i had spread out on top of the soil spilled onto the plant. Now my buds have perlite on them and I can't just blow it off because it is stuck to the resin. I plan on painstakingly removing it all when I'm trimming. Both the girls came out of the car with a lot more amber pistils, we'll see what happens now that they're back under the light. If I don't notice lots of new pistils forming within a couple days I'll start flushing and begin my way on the golden harvest road.

congrats dude!... tbh i was a lil worried about your situation :/..

thats sweet tho man but the perlites going to be a Bitch to get out while your trimmin haha.. just have one of your Workers (heh heh) be their sole job to pick out all the perlite lol =D

We'll see if I get any workers (friends). I want everything to be perfect & I don't know if anyone I know will be as meticulous as me.
DFW-Guy, I would take the perlite over cat hair anyday..lol. Sounds like there will be smoke in Dallas!! That first bowl of your on home grown is the best! You rock bro.
Ya at least I can see the little white specs of perlite. I just need a fine paint brush and tweezers. Ya I can't wait for the day everything is cured and ready to go.
