budstep's 12/12 FS PC Stealth Grow with CFL's

She looks great!

I am always surprised at how hearty they are, but I guess they do take a beating every now and then when they are growing outside. At least with the weather where I live they would.

And you guys are sweethearts.

I see the lovely dresney has been doing you proud so far

Yes, that lovely lady is following my grow from the beginning.

I just try to make sure nobody is overlooked. I think I spend more time in new grower's journals than I do on my own. I know I usually check it last when I sit down. :laughtwo:

Wonderful Idea with the venting into cupboard and out through the fish tank! Things like basil smell strong, lavender smell strong all year round. Many ornamental heathers look great and smell all year round too.

So many options for masking the smell. Also, house plants help create a better living environment for cleaner air and obviously the aesthetic appeal too.

Thanks mono....

You are dead right about basil whiffing.... Maybe grow basil n other herbs in the cabinet that houses filter n air pumps.... Could negate need for air pumps altogether... Just a small fan to agitate its leaves, bringing out the whiff and mixing with the grow smell...

Good morning everybody.
I was moving my box yesterday to a darker corner and after I noticed something about it and maybe someone could confirm my suspicions - When box is open exhaust air comes out flawlessly with a nice wind but when I close the box that air decreases dramatically. Can it be that the intake fan does not bring enough air inside and if I removed the intake and left it as passive intake then axhaust would return to normal ? Just looking for confirmation before I start redo the fans.

Hi budstep... As for the fan pressure change, its like you closing a window on a windy day... You restrict the available air when you close the side..

If you think air is a liquid, like water then imagine it flowing over a river weir... Open the weir and you get more water, close it flow reduces... A bit like the side of your pc tower and the air vent in the side..

When you get your fan/filter set up, if you rely on the fan to exchange all the air ( in and out ) of the cabinet, you should get negative pressure... Which means all air and smells can only vent thru your filter. Air will be drawn in thru cracks and cabinet vents and stop leakage.

Hopefully i didnt confuse you there

Keep it green my friend

:Namaste:

That's a fantastic explanation ;)

Morning everyone.
So I didn't get the chance to work on my box yesterday AGAIN but at the moment temps and everything stays at the limits that I'm comfortable with. But I did do some LST on her and after opening my box I noticed that her 2nd set of leaves ar wider then my box so when I LSTed her I twisted the stem so that those leaves grow paralel to the bottle, you'll see in the picture below.

And I will pull her top a bit lower again today

Thx Mono, I hope I'll be able to utilise the small space but those fan leaves worry me that my box might not be wide enough and if those leaves will grow bigger they will get crushed and ruined and at the end hurt my lady.

If you need too, there is nothing wrong with moving a few fan leaves. It will stunt the plant for a day or two then she will grow back fine. Cutting the leave in half is even less stressful on the plant.

I defoliate my plants heavily, especially in flowering with good results :) In the end, you want loads of buds, not loads of leaves :Namaste:

Sounds interesting tho' I have read good and bad about defoliation. Might not hurt to snip a half off of the bigger leaves if and when I will need to. Will see how she grows in next few days.

Everything so far seems to be going smooth but boring at the same time. Can't wait till I will be able to apply more training on her and see the changes.

Boring's good my friend, no major dramas and healthy growth...

She still nice n green, so all is good..

Your enthusiasm will grow like your plants... They change so quick after the first big leaves kick start proceedings.

Good work

Have some reps for your great start

Getting an ounce from my 1st grow would be more then I could ever dream of, I will be surprised and happy if I could get 5g from there :yummy: But with your help and guidence lets try for 1Oz :)
