150w is pretty low... but i guess since its the right spectrum it would be better than warm cfls.

Getting so many lighting tips! hard to really choose.

heres my new theory on what i might do,
a 2 fixture dryervent reflecter cfl set up for veg. really cheap and easy,
and then that 150w hps. thoughts? im thinking i could do all this for alittle over a hundred bucks and that would leave another like hundred and thirty or forty bucks. kinda seems like a nice plan if i do say so myself lol. where did this other guy come from with the raggin on 420 mag? shit. this sites the friendliest site on the net for grow journals and forums if you as me. the unfriendly way that guy just bombed in on my journal disrespecting all my buddys and even my journal tells me that the site hes talking about must not be so great. lol.

also i know by doing this and cfls, im going wayyy passed my budget for lighting but i think itll pay off. i dont want to burn my hps bulb for veg
 
i wonder if vegging with hps effect yeild, i would not flower with mh, but taylormade420s grow is going great and he vegged with hps. so yeah maybe i could just get this hps light and go buy an extra bulb at home depot. then boom i have my lighting for like a year and a half two years, sound right?
im excited. thanks for all the help!

You sure can my friend. Nothing wrong with doing that at all. Vegging with HPS is fine. The difference is really moot. MH run cooler but are closer to the spectrum. I'm sure there are plenty of people who will contest that but who cares. I would Say MH will promote a faster veg growth than an HPS(In terms of time) But I feel that HPS will get there just as strong. I am running my flower room with a MH right now since my HPS took a shit seems just fine to me. :thumb:
 
150 watt HPS will do just fine all through the life cycle of the plant. My first attempt was a DWC setup in a 2x2 tent with 2 clip on fans for ventilation and a small computer fan and a homemade carbon scrubber. The flowers turned out just fine. None of my friends had any thing bad to say. Plus 150 watt setups are all over the place for cheap. In Socal you can usually find them for around $40-50 on craigslist. Like ThatOneGuyy said there is nothing wrong with vegging with an HPS bulb.

thanks everyone! i am starting to feel really good about my next grow. GONNA INVEST IN SOME AURORA INDICA! and then boom that will set off my new life, nutes, ph kit and fox farm soil. thats my plan :D

since im still in early bloom, what could i add to the soil or water thats pretty cheap that would help with the buds?
sorry she looks chopped up, i didnt really do a good job pruning. i just took sharp sheers (for hair lol) and snipped away. She dont seem to be stressed over it though, did that pruning a few days ago and look at her now! :D its so cool to see those buds. tiny but amazing.

very excited to see my lady when the lights kick on, i think i will get in there and do some more tying and re positioning. there was a top i accedentally broke off, i want to find that branch and see how its doing also, because last time i seen it there was two little buds right there where the top used to be, i hope they turn into colas.
looks like i am doing ok for my first grow. nothing compared to tog or other first time growers on here but i feel i am going to get there with this next grow. :peace:

thanks for the tip! if i went to a grociery store would there be two kinds of mollassas? if so what kind should i get? itll be about a week before i get it
 
in the next few days i will try to get some pics of her in some white light so you can see everything better and maybe i can get my cousins 12 mp cam so i can take some high res pics and make my plant look more amazing :D plus i can get a better look at what shes doing with such high res pics :) but idk if he will let me use the camera lol
my 5mp camera can take some good pics when im not lazy i just need to restore the software on the phone so it wont screw up the pics as you see above.
