im thinking about taking some pictures right now, a couple minutes in some incondecant light shouldnt hurt. cause i know i wont have time tomorrow.

im only afraid that when it starts filling in in a few weeks, im gonna be extremely dissapointed, im doing everything i can to get light to every site of growth so i can make the places where there will be popcorn buds atleast fatten them up alittle. i keep tying branches to lower ones but thats only gonna work for so long. i need to go rob santa for some red christmas lights.
i was looking at lights. for when i get this check (whenever it comes!)
i was looking at a UFO led light,
or simply getting my brothers 400w switchable ballast and he also has an hps bulb.
and i was looking at T5s.
i want the 400w because its the best, but, i want the other two because they are more discreet. like they dont put off alot of heat. thoughts?
 
Well it comes down to one simple thing. Money. I don't think those UFO lights just don't have enough power to do much. But that is just me. If anything and you are still on a tight budget. Invest in more CFL 2700k You can buy a pack of 12 or something for like 20 bucks . It would be worth the investment.
 
CFLs, imo, are just complicated, because the way i have analyzed it, to do a GOOD cfl grow, i would have to buy like 10 dome reflecter light sockets then go get both spectrum of bulbs and its just a pain, with T5, i can just get the warm spectrum. because then CFLs ARE handy, i can veg my plant out with CFLs (daylight) and have no problem, then use a T5 for bloom.
Ill have 250 bucks to get what i need, but the thing with my brothers light is, I don't know if he has a cooling fan. And ill need that! cause i live in an apartment, one that is over 100 years old for that matter and the whole building is not very well mantained, so you can imagine the smell seaps everywhere. idk
 
Well if you plan on doing that and you have 250 budget. Get a 400w Ballast light set up. Digital to cut down on some heat. T5 are fine for Veg but the lumen output isn't anywhere close to a HPS. Invest in the grow light and you will do fine.
 
buy a 4, 5 or 6 bulb vanity light fixture. Make a make shift reflector out of a dryer vent (cut in half). Mount the vanity light to the reflector via zip ties. Buy some twin socket adapters and wallah, CFL light heaven! It can be done for like 30 bucks. It is something like the thing this guy built but use the vanity light fixture instead of the useless thing he used.

a 12 light system (with dual adapters) with 23w 2700k cfls would be beasty@!
 
that set up, perfection. saves me money so i can give my next grow some nutes and other shit it needs. i of course will make my own modifications but thats awesome. i want so bad to go with a grow light but the heat and the wattage just fucks me up. im struggling with 5 cfls on my electric bill...only making a ten dollar difference, so 400w set up would break me. but now i am thinking about that set up and i dont see why i never thought of that!

thanks ToG for your input and i agree the specrum just wouldnt be anywhere near HPS but same thing for these CFLs but i have seen some good grows with cfls so i will try to accomplish that. till i move, when i move then i can really start to branch out in different techniques and lighting and stuff.
i have a new found excitement now :D
cause this will be my last bagseed grow, next will be clones from my bro. still need to figure out what strain hes got but i know it will be sativa!

fuck that made my day. i get to save money and get some nutes and maybe a couple meters and a ph kit and shit. and fox farm soil. im really going to take my time setting up for the next grow.
but for now i gotta worry about this grow. i still have like 6 or 7 weeks left
 
and also i wouldnt use a vanity fixture, because it would make the CFLs point straight down, i would use a 4ft dryer vent thing and wire 3 of those two socket fixtures that he has, because they go side to side instead of straight down, now i could probably use a vanity one and like wire it over to the side but thats just added work.
so i think i pretty much almost have my design pictured in my head.
and i will DEFINITELY stock up on a few of those 40w.
idk. i will budget this light at 60 dollars
 
I wonder if I could Flower from seed... thoughts? Not as a main grow or anything I just love starting seeds and caring for little plants :)
just to add to the closet but it definitely wouldnt be getting much attention. and I dont want to veg it like at all, just start a seedling and boom right into flowering.
would this work? or would i just lose the plant? i have all these bagseeds and just feel like growing another one just to flower it out and actually just start a few and keep the fems and just flower them short, like chop the top and stuff and have like little bonsai marjuana plants hahaha. have like four and just not let them branch out that much. i get bored and think of this shit.

Sure you can flower without vegging 1st...i got a bag seed trying to grow...as soon as the single set of leaves are complete it goes on 12/12...but you don't want to cut on a plant that is on 12/12..

with a Y adapter they would face to the side enough where they would get close to optimal lighting.
 
i know but ill be using 40w so i dont want to have so many cfls, just four or six, with a vanity fixture plus y sockets i would have 8 minimum
