i actually prefer a promix type media. i'm in hempy though for reasons past my control.
have run dwc and rdwc before as well. long before this board.

His main issue is that his ppm reader is not showing the same number as the calculator on mc site.
However, he is throwing many different things around and its hard to understand cuz his got no proper picture or information.
He says he is using 2part mc but hasn't confirmed my picture.
then he talks about how his moved from AN to MC and then this calinet so i am lost like you are and he doesn't want to create a journal.

I don't mind him trying to figure this out here and dropping pictures, but with lack of proper response and information there is so much we can do

i've tried soil with promix hp and it was cool. learned allot but not enough.
I've wanted to try the different methods and see which one suits me best and then take it from there.
i also like mix ups so keep it fun
 
Guys it sounds like it is all GLN MC 2 Part and only that, the Am/AN was just some spelling/grammar confusion. Also this seems like the perfect place (as long as PK is ok with it) to talk about MC 2 Part since these are probably the only 2 people on the forum using it and they are both trying to work it out still.

Could you elaborate on this a little further, just so I know we're on the same page?

You're mixing based on what GLN is telling you by grams per gallon on their calculator (from what I've seen you post [0.6 grams per liter of each A&B]).

I also saw the PPM reading of 1600 PPM.

I'm assuming the 395 base is what you're water is reading from the tap?

This would then leave ~1200 PPM to your nutrients. Which seems a little hot and your plants do look pretty deep green. This is also what we are seeing with PK's initial dose, that it was a little too hot for that stage of growth. The ratio of A&B appears good it's just the dosage is looking high on GLN's calculator.

I started fully with Promix Hp and still am using it as well. from page one all the way to page 50 or 60 (i'll update this on my sig) :Rasta:

I am thinking my mother girls are going to go into promix hp.
The reason i like the hp is due to the fact that it give me the full control of my nutrient level from the get go.

The roots grow beautifully, just make sure not to water allot. i'm sure as you know they like the dryer side then a pool of water. lol
 
@HashFart i just updated my signature so its easier to follow with each grow i've done.

@Pondwater you still there bud! i just want you to know that the calculator is not saying that number is what you should feed. That number is a total number you need to reach. hope that helps

he's totally confusing what ppm scales are and how they are used. i'm not even sure he knows what ppm scale his meter is set to measure.

plus we have no clear idea of wth his system is and how it works. it's a franken.


edit: i want him to start a proper thread so we can figure out what is going on.
 
Sorry i pmed pk. I dodnt wana hijack him lol. Seemd like he had same problem so i posted and thaught i solved it as the tds pen difference. As if i has the 700 and they 500 ppm it would have read almost right bit i got a 500 lol.

So il try as pk summoned me back.

Corrext full 2 bags of food powder and balls lol the ones pk showed looked very different always had em.

Ive grown 16 years 6 being advanced.

I have grown advanced 6 years and recently swapped to MC
I have the complete 2 part
Part a is the 5 13 26
Part b is calnit 15.0.0

I grow in both hydro and coco 2 grows.
1 is coco 8 pot drain to waste (dtw) it has timers and floods 10 seconds every hour releasing 250ml ish. Each.
This allows 30% ru noff to occour to avoid salting.
The system has 1200w hps and is 4 weeks veg on advanced and 1 week on MC im hoping to flip if i get food right.

My hydo is a 200l rdwc diy 6 site week 6 flower. Also advanced nutes until last res change which was first time on mc.
(this is my naybers grow i help him with)

I followed dosages and i got a 2000ppm albeit i added a bene tea also which took 400ppm up in kelp and bennies and fulvic/humics.



My coco system i fill 200l tank each week.
Whivh distributes hourly if it runs out i fill up.

Feeds in
Wastes out.

But im now testing 1 litre to avoid waste.

And 1litre says
Part a 0.66
Part b 0.66
Target 475 +base ppm395 =870


This is how i do it and now im testing on 1 litre to not waste so same as my tank.

1 l 395ppm
0.66 ad water add tank(adding small water plain also here so if any should weaken it)
0.66 of b for balls lol
Mix
Ppm 1602

Fill barrell 200l test ppm 395
So mix part a in water pour in.
Mix part b pour in.
Mix mix mix.
Ppm pen says 1602ppm

So now to get 870.
Empty 100litres from barrell.
Fill 100litres plain ppm395 water.

Now im run ing at 0.33 a 0.33 b though.
It wont add up.

has me twisted. do you mean plain water that tests at 395ppm or nuted water at 395ppm ?

if actual plain water then i think i see a problem.

you should switch all your measurements to ec if you are going to approach everything by tds. it is much more accurate and far less prone to confusion. there is only one scale for ec. measures the same thing as ppm.
