Piña's Gone Posh: 2nd Journal, 1st Tent

Happy Friday
:passitleft: All set for a good one here, hope everyone's in the same boat. Just a quick update tonight, it's Friday after all .

The Blueberry still hasn't been chopped. Starting to feel I should have kept feeding watering for a wee bit longer with this one. I won't have any issues transporting this one Otter, there's not enough to share, it's all mine lol.

014.JPG

She keeps popping out little bits of new growth, so I'm going to give her a little longer. I'm not scared of a bit of couch lock :D. She smells fantastic, and I think stronger than the Amnesia , amazing when you consider the size difference.

012.JPG

She seems to be loving life. The pale leaves haven't got any worse, so she's just hungry. Fed and watered again tonight, same amounts, we'll see how she does over the weekend.

Cheers for stopping by

:Namaste:

Cheers mate, she's going great guns, and really starting to kick up a stink. I so hope I've got time to finish her.

It appears you might have been on to something Shed. Tonight I see her starting to complain.

043.JPG

Middle leaves are going pale. Gave her a good watering with .5ml bio grow, calmag and 1ml of bio bloom and top max in about 750ml water. See if that makes her happy, and repeat in a couple of days.

Her she is in all her glory.

045.JPG

I can see lights and a star in her future lol

The Blueberry is still going, but I'm going to have to call it soon.

042.JPG

She really is smelling great, I'm having a hard time chopping her lol.

The Honey Peach was chopped Monday, hung until earlier today and then cobbed.

037.JPG

There she is sat in her 40c water bath, she'll be there 24hrs. She was 32g after her short hanging, so one spog® makes one cob. Check the thread if you want more info

Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

really interesting stuff in there.

That might be my worst case plan for the Amnesia. Let her go until my last day here, 3.5wks from now. Chop, wrap and vacume pack, (while the wifes packing :p), and then freeze to pause the process until I return.

Not ideal, not sure what the wife will have to say about it, but better than chopping early and trying to process before I go me thinks.

Cheers for stoppping by

:Namaste:

Hey amigo,
I think you risk ruining your cobs by freezing them after the sweat. Unless you've heard from someone trying this successfully?
Harvest a couple of days before you leave. Dry a little and make cobs and do the 24 hr sweating. Wrap the cobs in towels or something to keep them warm, then drop the cobs off at my place and I'll keep them in my cobatron for a week of fermentation, and then babysit them for you until you're back.
That amnesia is looking way too tasty to risk experimenting with...

Nick cheers for the offer, much appreciated, but I'm not going to have time. Seriously.

That plant is going to need every minute she can get in the soil, every second even. I leave Saturday 22nd at silly o'clock in the morning. I'm working until the 21st.

My plan's to chop on the 20th, dry for 24hrs, then roll up into cobs, vacum pack, and freeze. When I return I'll do the 24hr sweat straight from frozen.

This means I'm going to be vacum packing on the evening of the 21st. I've still got to find time to go to the works party that night, without smelling of fresh weed lol. Alright I could forgo the works do, but I feel they owe me a drink.;)

I know it's not ideal, but I think it'll work, and I'm willing to take one for the team. I'm not going to be the only person to find themselves in this predicament, and this might be the best solution. I'm going to find out.

As I understand it the biggest problem with freezing weed is bursting the trichomes, or just having them fall off because of the cold. I'm hoping having them bundled up in cobs will negate this effect.

Thanks again for the kind offer, and you're more than welcome to a sample in the new year.

You never know it might work o_O

:Namaste:

OMG that Amnesia is bulking up beautifully! Killer plant PD :thumb:.

I know my BBa smelled so much that my neighbor thought that a skunk sprayed her yard every night.

Smells like skunk you say, lol us Europeans don't have skunks. Until I visited the US I always thought "skunk weed" as we always called it was so named because it was very very smelly.

I visited MI one winter (I know CRAZY) to visit what was to become my future wife.

One cold January day we took a drive in the country, in her beat up old Cavalier. I'll never forget that car, only had three working shocks, and I could see the road pass between my feet. Real death trap it was.

At some point on the journey we ended following a car. The conversation went something like this.

Me: Wow skunk
Her: Yep
Me: Smells nice
Her: Yeah it does

Another mile passes

Me: Must be really strong stuff
Her: It is
Me: But that car in front must have it's windows done up surely? It's freezing!
Her: What?!?
Me: Well they can't be smoking in that car with the windows down, it's so cold.
Her: What are you talking about?
Me: I can smell weed, it must be them smoking.
Her: (laughing her arse off) No that's road kill
Me: What?
Her: That is Skunk, dead skunk
Me: But it smells really nice
Her: It does from a distance
Me: So you're telling me weed actually smells like skunk
Her: Yep
Me: Embarrassed silence

Never forget that journey, in our defense that was a very early morning Sunday drive.

Ok, mate, good luck with the cobs. I hope they turn out alright.
I was in the very same position as you, and I asked about freezing in the cob thread. Tangwena advices against freezing any buds.
Tangwena's reply here

Cheers for the link Nick very interesting, missed that part of the thread. I did try and get through it all, but it was a bit fast moving at that time and I gave up.

Reading Tangs response it sounds like I might be able to get away with sweating, and then leaving for the three week I'm away in a cuboard somewhere. I will ask his thoughts nearer the time.

I'm still intrigued by the freezing idea, and will try it. But it's nice to have options, and not put all ny bud in one boat so to speak :D.

Sometimes they just belong to you bro! Man the amnesia makes me want to get mine going. She's beautiful.

Best skunk story ever Pina

Alas they are Auto's and they're getting 16hrs of light.

This Summer's been my first experience with them, and this is the first time I've grown them inside.

Don't think it'll be the last either. I'm not too impressed with the tent, and have very little faith in it's ability to produce a decent dark period.

Good job it's not a boat, it leaks like a sieve
If that's a issue or may become a issue buy some silver reflective duct tape. To cover up any leaks from the inside. I just got some im running autos, but eventually will run photoperiods.

Hope eveyones having a good Sunday
:420:

Welcome Jcloud, cheers for stopping by. What Autos are you running ? You got a journal going ?

This is the first grow I've had that dosen't involve duct tape :D, I'd like to try and keep it that way. I'm happy with the Autos, I just thought a purchased tent would be more light proof.

Someone wanting to grow regular seeds would be very disappointed I think.

Glad you all enjoyed the story, I tell it over here, and have a hard time convincing people dead skunk actually does smell like weed.

So time for an update

160.JPG

The Amnesia is having no problem with her new feeding regime, is bulking up, and starting to show some frost. Will stick with this unless she says otherwise.

As you can see the Blueberry spog® still lives

156.JPG

Super stinky, foxtailing and showing some lovely colour (I don't mean the yellow). Cleared off some of the dead leaves tonight and gave a little water. Who knows when I'll get to chop her, wish I'd fed her longer. I now know for the next one.

Cheers for stopping by all

:Namaste:

Good evening all,
hope everyone's gardens are green, and thriving.

I'm a day late on my update, and now I'm all out of sync. I did all my gardening duties last night, and just didn't have time to up date here. So here it is better late than never.

001.JPG

There they are tonight, looking like a comedy duo :D.

The Amnesia is still doing well. Last night she was taken out of tent, put in the shower and given a real good drenching, with run off, then watered with a nute mix. The soil's still drenched tonight, so maybe she's losing her thirst. Shame really she's got the roots for it.

002.JPG

Unless she gets her thirst on I can't see her getting anything else until Friday.

Looking at a calender I'm due to chop her 3 weeks from today, so she's still got time to bulk up some more :p.

So now question time. How much longer do you think I should
Spog® on!
?????

I thought the Blueberry was showing signs of finishing a couple of weeks ago. This is where she's at now

004.JPG

She's still throwing out blond foxtails, that stand out quite clearly from all her brown hair.

005.JPG

Do I just keep it going? I can't find my jewelers loupe to get a closer look, and my camera's not up for the task. My gut's telling me to keep her going, but is that just because I'll miss her when she's gone .

Be interested to know opinions.

That's all for now, cheers for stopping by

:Namaste:

I'm seeing some good amber on the fans so the calyxes can't be far behind. My blueberry spat pistils and foxtails to the end. I took them down based on the trichomes, and (without a loupe) I'd say yours is ready!

Spog® on!
I meant Spog®-on! :)

When you harvest it get a shot of the rootball for me please. I'm curious.

Dat main cola on Amnesia doh! o_O

Today has been an emotional day my last Spog® is no more , I'm really going to miss her, until I vape her :p.

Shortly after that I'll probably be missing her again. There's not a great deal of her to vape lol.

002.JPG

Here she is with her underside on display as requested. I may have broken a few roots, but not too many. She hadn't made the most of her pot for sure.

Shame you can't vape the root system too.

Otter I think she's quite fat for her size, I'd have been happy if it were a main cola on a larger plant for sure.

She's still smelling great, can't wait to have a sample:volcano-smiley:.

:Namaste:
