Piña's Gone Posh: 2nd Journal, 1st Tent

hey pina. looking good in here. nice update.

Thank you. Just opened the tent after lights on, and I can tell you it smells good in there too. First time these girls have done that to me. Brought a smile to my face :D.

Here's a quick shot of them tonight.

003.JPG

Amnesia at the back got her stretch on, but no sign of flower yet. Blueberry left, flowering and stretching at the same time. Lastly the Honey Peach, flowering and, I suppose "bushings" the only way to describe it.

They all got plain water last night, so nothing tonight. Think they're going to need a feeding with their next watering, but that won't be until Tuesday. With any luck.

The temperature has dropped here the last couple of days. So I've cranked the light. That'll teach them to want to grow up so fast.

001.JPG

Turned it up from about 110w. If it doesn't cause a problem with temps this is where it'll stay for a while. I do have the headroom to go higher, but not yet.

That reminds me. I mentioned signs of heat stress on Friday.

The reason became clear on Saturday morning, the lights were still on at 9.30 in the morning. I'd switched off the timer on Wednesday night, and forgotten to turn it on again. The poor things had been bombarded with light for 70 odd hours straight. Must have got a bit warm in there during the daytime.

Cheers for stopping by

:Namaste:

Good Evening
:420:hope everyone's doing well as we head towards midweek.:D

Cheers for the kind words Bluter, think you're starting to head that way now, be there before you know it.

Here are the girls tonight.

005.JPG

They all recieved water tonight 1L, with 1ml of bio grow, bloom, topmax, and calmag. I'll see how they react to that, and decide when to feed next. Do smaller plants need less neuts? Because these girls are indeed miniature.

001.JPG

Honey Peach front left, Amnesia right, and Blueberry at the back. All behaving slightly differently to what they're enduring.

I think the Honey Peach is hinting that the light's too close, even though she's the shortest. Think the Amnesia is just starting to feel the same way, and the Blueberry really doesn't care. She's nearly caught up the Amnesia in height.

So in order to keep them all happy, I've raised the height of the light :D. It's not like they've not got room to stretch.

I mentioned earlier in my journal that I expected some input from my cat Dobby at some point.

My grow tent occupies a small corner of the room she calls her own. She is not happy with this arrangement, not happy at all. As I hope this photo illustrates.
004.JPG

I think you'll agree not amused. Although I'm hoping it's not disapproval.

Thats all for now.

Cheers for stopping by

:Namaste:

lol. careful cats will eat them.

you're coming into flower. general rule of thumb is start at 1/4 bottle strength for the stage at which you are at. boost up if looking hungry, back off at any sign of nute burn. (brown tipping etc)

stuff looks really really good pina. you must be right about where they like it. they have a few different nute requirements as they get older, your bottle chart should reflect that.

Don't think she will, but she was under close supervison in case.

I have given her a popcorn bud, with a bit of branch attached in the past. She loves it, has a bit of a catnip like effect. She plays with it, smells it, sneaks up and pounces on it, but doesn't consume. Not that I'd let her, again under close supervision. She really likes the smell.

Checked the girls just now, and no sign of problems. So I'll stick to the BioBizz nute schedule, looks like Tuesday night will be feed night. :D

Think they've responded well to the light being higher, so all is good. Photos manana

cheers for stopping by

grow her some catnip. especially if you have a tent or other space to do it in where she can't get at it. it helps keep them off the more valuable plants.

Man looks Great.

Cheers man, smells better :). Need to start using carbon filter soon.

The girls are really showing their individuality, no doubt they're three different strains.

005.JPG

The Honey Peach (front left) is the one thats struggling and is the weakest of the bunch. Think it might be a bit warm for her. Her lower parts are growing really bushy and tangled. Here's a better shot.

002.JPG

Ok not that much better, hope you can make out the tangled mess I'm talking about. I might try thinning it out over the weekend. She just seems a little small for such brutality :p.

I think the Amnesia is just starting to flower.

004.JPG

Although that might be a little wishful. No tangled mess on her. Tucked a few leaves on her tonight. In the long run she's going to need to lose some, but not yet. Hope she dosen't stretch too much, she'll leave the other two behind.

Lastly comes the Blueberry

001.JPG

She's certainly the looker of the bunch, and the one that appears happiest with her enviroment.

There was no water tonight. Going to try and make them wait until Saturday, I'll check manana, but they'll need to be begging to get any :D.

Thats all for now

Cheers for stopping by

Happy Saturday
:420:hope everyone's good and enjoying their weekend. :rollit:

Fat buds on that blueberry.

She is indeed showing promise, but she's so tiny. Here she is tonight.

065.JPG

I must say, despite her size, she's the prettiest plant I've grown yet. Tonight I've noticed her lower set of leaves are starting to go pale.

The same is true of the Honey Peach, although less so.

056.JPG

Her tangled middle appears to be sorting itself out as it develops. She is also tiny. I have no problem with this, just wish I'd popped 4 seeds instead of 3.

The Amnesia has responded well to the tucking. All the tucked leaves stayed tucked, and it shows in the exposed tips.

068.JPG

She also has paleing lower leaves, but the least of the three.

So that's how it stands on day 28. As there's no sign of neut burn, and still signs of increasing hunger I fed them again tonight. The same as before. 1ml of bio grow, bloom, topmax, and calmag in 1L ph'ed water. Should I be feeding every watering? Does plant size effect neut consumption?

Here they are, fed and watered and ready to be zipped up for the night.

As always cheers for stopping by

Cheers for stopping by Nivek, and the kind words.

Picked up most of the info about lights lurking around here, and one other place. Although I work in the electrical industry so it might not have been so daunting for me. If I were to do it again it would be different, drilling and tapping is tedious work. If I can offer advise you're more than welcome to it, but it'll probably be "have a look here, or there" :)

I was thinking about topping, when the girls flowered on me:confused:. Surprised how fast that came round. So they're going to remain in they're natural state as far as possible. We'll see how that pans out.

:Namaste:

Hey Piña, I like your setup. Great lights! Nice work, indeed. :goodjob:
Your plants look good. I'm amazed at how quickly they started to flower.
How tall is your tent? It's hard to tell from the pics. If it's not that tall, it's great that your plants started to flower so quickly. I've had many problems when my plants have outgrown my tents.

Thanks for stopping by Nick.

They did start flowering faster than expected, 18 days. I was just starting to think about topping/training when they started .

The tents got 1.6m (5ft) of height, so it's looking a bit empty. I think I should have space to let them grow unmolested. With any luck I should end up with three Bonzai weed trees.

It's working out well really, I've just found out this grow has got to be wrapped up by Xmas. Everything's got to be cut, dried and in store by the 22nd Dec !!! That's 13 weeks from day 1. Should be OK with the two early birds, but could be cutting it fine with that Amnesia.

After Xmas I'll be popping some new, bought, designer label, seeds. See if I can end up with a space problem :p

:Namaste:

Good evening
:420:the worst day of the week's done, downhill from here on in. Hope everyone's had a good one, I found myself repairing a puncture at 6.30am this morning in order to get to work. Really thought it was going to be one of those Mondays, but I'm pleased to report that was the low point.

The girls haven't let Monday slow them down.

004.JPG

The growth since Saturday's amazing. The Amnesia (at the back) has really got her stretch on. I've been forced to raise the other two slightly, and adjust the height of the light.

They all seem happy with their lot, no signs of complaint. They won't get watered again until Wednesday now, I'll probably feed them then too.

005.JPG

The Blueberry's starting to show a little bit of frost, that made me smile :D. As did the aroma, still haven't set up the carbon filter. Need to get on that.

Cheers for stopping by.

:Namaste:
