Peyton's Sour Sky Hempy Grow 2014

Thank you! The last few days she seemed like she was losing her frosty luster, but when I looked today it was frostier than ever. Now I just need some fattening up. Hey tryshard, did you end up backbuilding the rest of your buds or are you letting them stay natural the rest of the grow?

I did all of them, at least I think I did. I'm glad I did they are responding spectacularly! I'll have some more pictures. I've taken them, but it takes a while to go through them. I throw away more pictures than I keep, don't you like the new digital world! And now that I have upgraded to 8.1 there appears to be a flaw that prevents multiple uploads so that slows things down also. So in the future less pictures but hopefully better ones. Are you going to BB yours?

I believe I will. I got a bunch of them already, and will probably get the rest when my little guy takes a nap. Can't wait to see how large your colas get in their last few weeks! You guys keep raising the bar on me, but it only motivates me to be a better grower, and I thank you guys for that.

Alrighty. I went ahead and snipped a few more. 25 to be exact. And the other 10 or 15 I'll just let go natural for a while since they were closer to the screen than I care to get. Can't wait to start seeing the difference! All the bits you clip off, is it worth it to throw in freezer with rest of trim and popcorn or just toss it?

Well . . . I was a bit paranoid, and to be honest I took the post literally and tried to snip just the very tip. I took my glasses off so I could see real close and I took very little off. Just enough so that you could see the very tip of the main stalk of the cola and I didn't use scissors, I reach in and pinched them of. (I washed my hands) so I took very little, and I think the pinching actually helps the back building because I sealed the tip a little. Does that make sense? So pretty much after I was done all I had was smelly fingers. You have to be really careful you don't need to remove much.

Yeah I didn't think I was getting enough off of them at first, but after an hour or so I could see the tiny brown spot for where the stem bled and dried. So hopefully it comes out right, if not then I'll try again next time. It's cool seeing your pics and the difference in the cut/uncut colas.

Looks like you got it right. Realistically how much is it going to increase your dry weight, maybe 1-2% but it will make them look nicer. I think you can do it again if you have a couple of weeks to go to maybe get a final plumping.

It's a shame it don't increase yield, but I would like my buds to be pretty like the ones in the magazines. I'll keep an eye on the progress, and probably clip the rest of them if they get any higher. Exciting times we're living in!

Awesome. Glad you found some plugs! I'm always here if you have hempy questions. This grow was pretty basic. Topped once and trained to be flat. Plant is only about 10 inches tall from medium to top cola. Couldn't have done it without scrog screen.

Yes you are correct. I forgot yours was auto. It's bagseed, but from some killer Denver meds. I think that was one of the reasons I never bought autos, not being able to do much with them. When I build my bigger space this weekend I'll have room for plants like that, but my tiny spot won't work for autos.

I read somewhere that autos didn't like to be topped. I just looked back and saw it was a bag seed and not an auto. is that right?

Why would someone say bag seed doesn't like to be topped? What makes bag seed grow different than non-bag seed? Just curious.

He has an auto, and a few more of them to grow. I forgot his were, and told him I was topping and lst'ing under a screen and that he should too. Then he reminded me they were autos he had. Glad he didn't take that advice lol

Plants are looking great today. Sour sky is perky and green, I'll take more pics tomorrow. Hopefully the backbuilding will start showing soon. The HGK has its second set of leaves popping up, so happy about its quick progress. I'll start a journal for it when it gets close to topping and training time. Not sure if I should do what I'm doing with this grow or if I should mainline or what. We'll figure it out as it goes.

I went to school in Denver. Wish I was there now. Lived up by the highway to Boulder on Broadway. Man what good memories. I have a life long friend that lives in Thornton. I have been trying to visit him. He has a card and only uses a vaporizer.

Hey TrysHard, I thought he was talking about Autos. I had heard with autos you don't even pick a near yellow leaf or transplant. You plant it in the pot it will spend it's live in. Sorry I made something confusing.

Yea... Seattle is nice for that 3 weeks of summer, so I've heard. If I could get the wife to take off 2 weeks I'd like to go to Denver. She liked it there. It just isn't worth spending the bucks if you don't spend a couple weeks. I'd like to stay long enough to do a round of RSO.

I know people knock the weather there, but they have 300 days of sun there, and when I was there in January and February years ago, the coldest it got was mid 40's. I'd take the misty weather over the freezing cold any day lol

I lived in Colorado in the early 80's in Northglenn (right behind the Westminster Mall). Was there 2 years...but don't remember much of it. Seriously. I do remember playing frisbee ultimate in Washington park, seeing U2 at Redrocks (still don't know why The Who didn't play there...they played an old muni airport instead...go figure) and hooting a fatty on Green Mountain watching the hang gliders on a Sunday.

That stuff is all good...but I have an Ex in Aurora too... :phew:

I'm not a super physical person, but I do love nature walks and whatnot. Torn between two cities. U2 would have been cool to see, especially back when their music was a lot better
