I have 15 large aquariums in my house, all have filters, heaters and lights on them. So my power bill is already high as an average growers room. About 120$ every month. When I started growing it jumped 20$ with a 400watt. Maybe I'll get Lucky and only jump 30$ from that. I think something is wrong with our meeter in our favor anyways.

Yeah I got an led TV too. Cartoon network all day, but I can't complain, I like most of the cartoons lol. Regular show, adventure time, gumball, and especially when adult swim kicks on. My son is always happy, so I assume I'm doing a good job. Best job I've ever had.

My stove is gas, but everything including heat is electric. Kinda feel like I'm being called out, heh. I would show you my electric bill if it were smart.

Take it from me, I'm an efficient person with 900 watts of light and an LED tv spending less than 100 a month on them. I don't use my gas range at all, I have an electric. I do grill occasionally, as well. I would consider LEDs to save some money in the short and long term.

I hope none of this came off jerkish, I am on some pain medication, so I apologize if I seem brash at all. I don't want you to feel disrespected.

I wouldn't lie to you, nor would my girlfriend reading this let me lie to you, and I haven't practiced witchcraft since I stopped hanging out with Christine O'donnell.

We have solar power that feeds back into the grid. But you seen what there made out of and the recycle ability of them once there not working. Not having a go at anyone, and co2 in grow rooms v trees taken from Amazon was a bad example but the point remains the same. I'm not having a go at anyone. But no matter how light on our feet we are, there's allways a trail left, a sign we were here and used what was on offer. Your talking to someone on the other side of the world. Think what was done and damage caused just to make that possible.

I belong to an electric coop, and my bills are never lower than $200. Didn't use the wood stove in March and the bill was $375, I keep the heat up to 78. Can't do cold in the winter. You guys with such low electric bills won't even notice the cost of using an LED light. I'm a stay at home grandpa and my 65" TV burns more electricity than you guys burn. I'm not going to change either. I stopped eating cows and goats to do my share.

900w on the lable or 900 actual watts? We just had this discussion about led wattage and actual operating watts. 400w led runs under 200watts.

Again sorry if you thought i was calling you out.

Not jerkish at all from my perspective. My bills are that cheap with light and TV because that's about all that's on here throughout the day. Don't use oven that often, and haven't had to have ac on yet. It'll be much higher when summer hits. I'm just in that zone of weather that works best for now. Once in garage, I'll be using ac in there when necessary and heat in winter.
 
Oh yea! I redid the lights in my kitchen and now have 7 LEDs in the ceiling cans. Still didn't notice any change in electric bill. My house is all electric. Water heater, stove/oven, 4 TVs, heat pump that's not much. I'd do solar but my state won't let the power company pay me for what I would put into the grid.
 
Well considering what you're growing, I would never call it wasting money lol. At least you have the want to go to led. A lot of the hps guys still laugh at led. To each their own. I did it because of electric bill, heat, and because I love newer technology.

And I never have and never will own an apple product.
 
Not at all. I was just kidding. I have pretty thick skin, so don't worry. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a jerky boy.

Well, I have one ds800 running 753w, one ds100 @100w and a spectraboost 15w @10w. So, more like 863w plus my chiller, carbon filter, ph monitor, 130gph pump, small o2 pump, sometimes a small dehumidifier, sometimes a small, efficient ultrasonic humidifier.

I don't tend to turn on lights, I use windows to cool, blankets to heat. I turn everything off all the time. I use my tablet all day instead of my desktop.

I have another ds100 to daisy up soon. Just need to get the hanger. Fyi, advanced sends you hangers as a "free gift", so don't expect four hangers with a $2k light... lol not complaining, just a heads up. I've been waiting til I heal to get my veg tent going, too.

Oh I've been reading. They do get nice yields n shit. Saves on power less heat. Lol scrambling to get money to buy a light off grizzwald. I'll ditch hps in a second!

I think we've all been there, man. Hang in there. Things are always getting better. By the time I'm halfway through the lifespan of my lights better ones will be out and you will have them, not me. Hah
