Welcome to the show! Not much going on these days, just watching buds fatten up and prepping for hgk hempy flux. Still debating on whether to keep next grow Lucas formula or 1-2-3 formula. Gonna flux the hgk and maybe do my strawberry blue as a mainline, just to get some practice in. We talk about anything and everything here, so feel free to chat and post pics of your grow and bud porn. Anything goes in the thunderdome!
 
Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be shorter. I checked some random spots on leaves and found 85 percent clear, 15 percent cloudy and a few amber scattered here and there. Gonna be watching her close for next few weeks. Maybe if I check flower time of sour diesel and skywalker that will give me a generalisation. Hgk still has another 7 or 8 weeks of veg time, so no rush. But I do want to get it under that led.

Can't quite see the trichs but that's sure some sexy looking weed wildjim. It's not ready from what I can see, but I also wouldn't speculate beyond another week without looking at the trichs. I would really suggest one of those 40x lighted loupes. I tried a hand held microscope (from the Shack 200x), and that was just a joke. I got a big loupe and can see everything pretty well...for $10. You can do whatever you can too see them, or you can guess. Anything short of looking at the trichomes is guesswork. Afterall, THAT is why we're growing this plant in the first place...its resin.

Thanks Governmentchz. I have glaucoma and it has seriously affected my vision as has my 63 years. Where did you get that $10 loupe? I'd like to snag one of those. I don't drive, at least my wife won't let me. The doctor said he should take my license away because of the seizures but I just jabbered until he had to see another patient. So I still have it. He says I should keep smoking cannabis. I asked if he had any. I haven't had any since August 2012 when my supplier, my brother, passed away. So now I have to wait a little longer. One question Governmentchz, I have heard that you can determine the type of buzz from when you harvest. Is that true? This is a sative/indica hybrid and I prefer the sativa effects. I hear if you harvest a little early you don't get "couchlock", is that true?

This is the same one I got (though I bought mine from a local shop): Grower's Edge Magnifier Loupe - 40x

Regarding harvest time vs effects, there's truth to it, but again, it's because the trichomes have different levels, and types, of cannabinoids in them as they develop. A clear/slightly cloudy trichome head will give a more uplifting effect, where an amber one will glue you to the couch (or enough of them will anyway).
 
Plant looking better each day wildjim. I don't think it will be longer lasting effect, just a different effect if it goes too long. It looks to have another week, maybe two. We'll know more as the hairs start turning color

Longer-lasting if allowed to go longer? well, yes, but mostly because there will simply be more resin. The plants continue to produce resin throughout flowering for the most part (i.e. you CAN go too long, and not all strains keep producing, but most do). THC will also begin to change to CBD's as it goes longer too and that can change the medicinal effects. THC is recommended for glaucoma partially because it reduces pressure in the eyes.
 
I read in another thread about giving seedlings water with 1ml per gallon of grow micro and bloom. Anybody do that? Don't know if a one week old plant will handle that. It is an hgk, so it is a nute hog. And I already see roots at the reservoir hole, so it is growing fast.
 
If its growing fast it might need nutes earlier than norm. I guess this is a case of using your best judgement.

Cool. I gave it a little sip of it this morning before I went to wake. Ten hours later and no ill effects, and the res is completely dry. I know my humidity is real low, but I like it. Can't wait to start fluxing it!

I do it. I know the rooter plugs are conditioned with something to help the babies, but I still add 1ml of food to "help with root development". My growing medium is inert with no nutrient value to the plants so they get it ALL from me.
