Peyton & Pals Perpetual Playground

Plants are looking great, checked on them last night for watering. HGK keeps getting more hair each day and leafier, and both her and SB seem like stretching has stopped. Clone keeps getting bigger leaves and hopefully will grow nice in flower despite her size. The 2 12/12 from seed plants are still in the ground and haven't popped above yet. And PC keeps getting longer and bushier. She really seems to like having all the light to herself, she's got 125 watts of CFL to bask in so that should hold her over for awhile. If I wouldn't have tied her down last night she would be all up in the lights now. Well, that's the daily update for now. Probably get more pics in a couple days if they look any different

Ok stumped I took another Picture for you... this is what I have a 1000 watt ballast, 400 watt mh/hps lamp, Can - Fan Rs 4HO 70 Watts, 250 watt Sodium/metal halide Lamp and the Filter is 2 feet long and diameter is just shy of 6 inches...

Is that all u got?
The 1000w needs all the cables, reflector, socket. And bulb obvisouly lol so you'll have to make a trip to the hydro shop for the reflector and socket hopefully, then go to home depot and buy 20feet(to be safe) of awg 14 wire. If u choose to use 1000w.
Other 2 look compete. Test em out?

Did you read my other post to you about cutting holes in the Walls or making grow box? You'll need a way to ventilate the hot air from your room. And a hole for cool air to enter.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Filter looked small, its not. Good to go on that, might just need new carbon.

I'll wait for you to reply this time before I answer a bunch of unaksed questions. Lol

Hey stumped, if I plan to top the pc, can I cut a node back on each end and try to clone those or wait for soft side branches? I'm guessing they're too woody to clone. If not I can wait a while, it's still got some months in veg

Actually the thin stem clones do take slightly longer to root. Those fat woody clones root fastest :) I like my clone stems hard enough I can use factory holes in rockwool. Just jam em in there.

Cool. I'll make sure and grab some rockwool this week. Try and see if I can get 2 good clones out of it. I'll top all four branches but I want to leave the fim branches uncloned so the longer branches are same length. This will be fun to see if I can get it right. I have the 80 degree temps, just don't have the humidity. Mines around 60 percent

Popped into the flower room today real quick during lights out. First time I've been in there during lights out, and was in/out in less than 2 minutes. Plants look great, haven't stretched for a day or two, and first time I've ever seen them with their leaves sagging from all the work they do. Can't wait to see some fat buds start shooting up. Been up since 4 today, so I might not make it to hydro shop. I'll see if my old lady can go for me. As long as I make a list she is usually okay

Here is another bit of useful info that dawned on me, talking about seeds roots vs clone roots.
When I plant seeds, once the round leaves break ground. Every day I'll bury up to the leaves until the round leaves seperate from the first set of jagged leaves. When I grew from seed all the plans were sturdy as hell doing this method.

I was shown this 20 years ago and it just stuck with me and whenever I grow from seed I do this. Not sure how much of a difference this makes, or if everyone already does this. Don't see it talked about much.

That's why the last few rounds of clones I've been cutting the last node off, so when planting the clone I can bury more of the ex stem and now a taproot.

400w does a 3x3 footprint. Whatever u can fit in that space will do good. I have same footprint with a 1000w. I'm doing 16 plants.

To answer how many plants, its hard to answer. I'd say 4 autos. And for photos it depends on what grow style.

Expect .5 grams per watt turn around. And strive for 1 gram per watt in time once you have your techniques dialed in.

Well first build a room with good ventilation. Exhaust with that can fan at the top, goes together from inside the room, filter then fan then through hole to outside. Cut a hole in the bottom of the room for cool air to enter the room.
Get yourself some 5 gallon buckets, and here is where Peyton and Jim can lend a hand. If u would like to try hempy,.(we all recommend that even for noobs)
Get a circulation fan, an oscillating Walmart fan will do.
Get a thermometer and a hygrometer.

Paint the walls of grow room white, or buy some black white Polly.

If I remember anything else or more questions go for it.

After u get this setup, we will get to figuring out temperatures any any corrections needed to be made.

Hempy is definitely the way to go for simplicity and reliability. All you need for autos is a 3 gallon bucket with a hole about 2 to 3 inches up from bottom and a bag of perlite. They say with autos you want to start in the final pot, no transplants. Keep a tray under the pots to catch the runoff. Then you just add water. No pumps, no wires, no worries.
