Filter goes with fan. You can grow a lot of autos with those lights. 1600 watts is way outta my league, you'll have to get stumped to answer that one. How big of a room do you have to grow in?
 
Kind of confused of the question. Can you use this gear? Lol. Do ducks quack?

First I'd test everything out. Use some heavy gauge wire for any extension, awg14. Nothing worse then setting up shit to find out something is faulty.
Next check your breakers in your home. A single 15a breaker can handle 1 of the lights. The 1000w. So if u want to run the other lights you have to put them on a separate breaker. 1kw ballasts push 11amps. A breaker should never be more then 85% load to prevent failure.
Next your filter. This is trial and error part. Something tells me that's a low cfm fan, I could be wrong. But you'll need to cut a hole in the wall in the top corner or celing of your 10x10 grow room to use the canfan as exhaust. Now cut a hole double the size of your exhaust at the opposite bottom corner for air intake. Its passive to create negative pressure in your room.Turn your lights on before putting plants in for a few hours and check temps. Ideal is 75f, but u can get away with 85f.

I can't stress this enough, safety first.don't go using cheap braided wire. Make sure your power wires if needed to extend stock wire. Use minimum awg14.

One quick note just to make sure your aware. Costs to run these lights. Up here we pay .17cent / kWh. Costs about 150$ very 2 months for me to run a single 1000w.
 
Either way if u got questions ask away. I'd say get out some paper and draw up a design before ya start cutting holes. Show us the design and we can help u correct anything you maybe missing. Setup wise.

Something else to consider. These are the recommended foot prints for rated wattage.
250w 2x2'
400w 3x3'
600w 4x4'
1000w 5x5'
 
I can't judge size very good. But I'm guessing that carbon filter is waaay too small.
Can u measure the carbon filter length and diameter?
Also it looks kind of old. Carbon filters have white filter floss over it. Yours is darker meaning its at the end of its life. No worries I'll show u have to recharge it :)

So in the pic, we got.... Correct me what I'm missing or wrong. Left to right is. Empty canfan box or another filter? The canfan 1000w , 400w then the 250w.
Did you get wires, sockets and reflector with the 1000w? Or just the ballast?

How many can u grow with those lights? That's the eternal question. I'd say start with the 1000w. With say 5-10 autos in a 5x5 space. Then expand later.
Or start with the 400w in a 3x3 to get your feet wet growing indoors.

That's what I did and I'm glad I did. I learned a lot stepping up from a 400 to a 1000. And not wasting power or smoke learning.
 
Kick in the ass was, if I would have showed up a month before hand I would have had 5x the gear including filters, tents and 6 gallon jugs nutrients. His shed got broken into and everything was gone but the 3 ballasts I got. He said he had 6x 1000w and 4 400w mh ballasts. I was supposed to pick it all up 5 years ago lol, that's what I get for procrastination.

While I'm telling stories I may as well go back to where the gear came from and your all going to have a laugh.
The year is 1997, pot was still quite illeage in Canada, espically for growing it. Anyways my friend got busted growing in his backyard. He had pumps and timers for his outdoor plants that was all. Someone broke into his neighbours house, unrelated. Cops go to my Buddy's to ask of he seen anything, saw 4 big plants in his back yard...... Out come the cuffs down come the plants.... Gets out on bail till court.
A year later he goes to court, to fight the charge, tells the judge its for medical reasons.... Arresting officer don't show up! Case is thrown out. He's told to go pickup his gear and be on his way.... This is where the story gets fucked.

He arrives at back pickup fenced in area police station to pickup his irrigation system, wherenthey keep shit too big to go in the evidence locker. officer takes him to a small container like for a big rig. Says, "OK here is your gear, get it out of here" my buddy fucking loaded up the city's gear they confiscated over the past year busting grow ops lol. If I didn't know the guy so well (step father) I wouldn't believe it. Funny story isn't it? Stupid fucking cops at there best.
Said he rented a 5 ton cube and had to make 2 trips there was so much gear.
 
Me either only on here it would be nice to have a friend that grows the same indoors as me so we could compare help and have somebody to shoot the breeze with. I think Peyton and Stumped, Wildjim , should talk to there wives and move closer :) Best of all we could share stuff how nice would that be dam I'm out of nutes need some till I can get them ordered.
 
Yeah, i would be one who had to move since I'm still in an illegal state, and my state will probably be the last to do it. They don't even whisper about medical mj here yet.

Damn stumped, you coulda had quite the setup going. But then again, it would probably be so much work that out wouldn't be fun anymore
 
U go to NFL games do ya? We got television up here ya know..... Only as of last year but we got it! Hahahha and we got one of Canada's few 5 star Chinese food restraunts, and they deliver Hahahahah
U got me on weather. In celcius its 40 in the summer and -25 in the winter here. Hot as balls and cold as a witches tit. Our roads are fucked, looks like roads in Baghdad, potholes n shit looks like IED explosions. missing sections of main roads replaced with gravel. Wake ya the fuck up doing 110kmh and hit a 20foot loose gravel patch lol
We salt the roads up here so cars last 5 years before there rusted the fuck out. Half the roads are tarmac so they shred tires like crazy. Lol this summer alone I bent 2 rims from potholes, and had to replace both rockers from rust. 6 year old vehicle. And not counting the spot rust I patched up.
 
I like to go to at least one game a year, and I know with the Internet age I wouldn't have to miss any games. That does sound a little colder than I would prefer. Glad you guys have good Chinese food. We have it in Indiana, but it ain't worth a shit. Our roads are salted in winter, which is why we like to buy cali and Texas cars. Not a lotta rain and snow there. Where I live we have a lot of back roads, and they are nasty. Highways are okay, but that's about it. I'd love to visit up that way someday, in the summer of course. I'd like to visit places that aren't war torn countries.
 
Yea but you have a better sense of real freedom. Better Supreme Court. But it's definitely too cold for me. Brrrrr I have been there twice, once to Canadian side Niagara Falls. It was beautiful. Got hassled at the border going into Canada for my braid of Sweet Grass.

Here's some news... My Spirytus got here today. I'll be making my oil soon.

I hope to get the F&V popping this weekend. I'll let you know. Busy weekend coming up.

Figured out how to beat the "too much time on the computer" my wife's been ragging on. I bought a new 10.1" ASUS tablet. Got a hellofa deal on thE bay. I'll be able to do the wifi anywhere. Using her laptop is too much for my hands and I can never get comfortable. This tablet will make life easier.

Make sure and sideload that app on there. That'll be even easier on the eyes. You'll only have to use the browser to upload pics.

Can't wait to see that fnv grow start. I'll be ordering some seeds next week and can't wait to see what they can do. I'll just have to hope I can mimic your settings. Got my little space heater in house to fix busted coils and oil the fan, so hopefully that will be enough to get through the winter. Might veg indoors and flower in garage. I'll get it figured out eventually
 
My eyes are the reason I can't use my phone. It is smart but too small of a screen. I can barely read text on it. Wife and son don't have trouble with screen size but they don't have advanced Glaucoma.

I am cleaning up my tent to start the F&V and will put it in my new grow area in about 3-4 weeks. Just have making the oil in my brain.

I found some stuff to keep animals away from my tomatoes and soil garden. Shot-Gun Repels-All from Bonide. Got it from Home De Pot. It works beautifully. No deer or squirrels. Or cats! Five does used to live in my back yard, they don't anymore. Outdoor growers might try this if having trouble with animals. Squirt, don't mist, a line around garden about five feet from garden area. Don't spray plants.
