I too was concerned about chlorine and chloramine so whilst at Wal-mart(where I get my reservoir products air stones etc) I picked up a bottle of Stress coat- is supposed to make water safe for fish. So I figured well if this works for fish, should work for plants too. Seems okay so far. I should buy a chlorine test kit some day and verify what the bottle is selling. Cheers!

Any pond store will sell those product and as you have found most pet stores.

Lowes even carries those types of products however they may not be available off season.
