PeeJay's Perpetual Porta-Scrog Party

Yeah, it's kind of interesting. From the sniffer aspect the myrcine is not sharp or acid. That smell is from a different terpine, limoline. If you want to smell myrcine next time you're at the store bust open a jar of mango baby food and take a sniff.

Weekly update day. What is this? Day 49 of flower? I think so...

Wonky Chitral has been banished out to the greenhouse as of today. I'll probably have to bring her in later to prevent a freeze. I've been watching the temperatures in there. So long as the forcast low stays above 25 f it should be ok... Tonight it's going to go down to 20 but there is a warming trend on the way. I want to see how purple she can get. I need the room in the tent for non-wonky plants. She isn't throwing out much in the way of new pistils and should be done in a week or so. I realize I might kill her with this maneuver, but frankly I'm tired of looking at her. She is quite frosty and fragrant but I think it makes sense to give the other plants more room. Here she is.

Golden Lemons was slow to start making trichs but has really been pumping them out this week. She's also foxtailing like mad. I am seriously considering this one for the greenhouse this summer and think it will do better with an aggressive topping regimen early.

The greener Chitral pheno is looking good but the buds are rather small. There are a ton of them and they are very dense but there are not going to be any trophy sized nugs. I would be reluctant to grow the Chitral with low-screen SCRoG training again. Maybe it's the reveg clone thing, or maybe the strain just doesn't like it so much. I have clones of both Chitrals to play with again at a later date.

Panama continues to look good and is starting to bulk some. I would not hesitate to low screen SCRoG train this one again.

Overall, I'll be surprised if this run produces more than 8 oz of nice nugs. It's been fun playing with the low-screen training. However, I'm really seeing a lot of variation in how different strains respond.

I'll be happy to take that wonky girl off your hands... Just try to help....:circle-of-love:

Ha! You fuss over every leaf blemish, Dennise. You can have her after she's chopped if you want. You would be wringing your hands worse than me if she was yours right now.

So true, Rado. I medicate for insomnia and anxiety. I go through 1/4 to 1/2 oz of good weed a month and I harvested about 26 oz last fall. I'm good for a couple of years without ever harvesting another plant. Growing them is fun, though!

Hmmmm. I have plenty of genetics, but I have no autos. Been thinking of throwing a few outside the second week in March for an early June harvest. I might have to pull the trigger. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm loving the looks of that Panama. :thumb:

Frosty buds of glory! Looking fantastical pj! :circle-of-love:

I was using up to an 8th a day for pain and insomnia. I had to quit about a week ago and I'm looking forward to lowering my intake when I'm able to start up again.

Wonderful update!

Weekly update.

First of all, green Chitral pheno is no more. I chopped it last Thursday 7 1/2 weeks of flower and 9 weeks of 12/12. Trimming was a pain. The buds are light and airy and they were small. I ended up with 51 grams of overly dry buds - it dried very quickly in the low humidity I'm experiencing here. A lot of trimmed buds would have gone right into the trim bag if the nugs had been bigger and I ended up with a TON of high quality trim to play with. Here is a picture of the dried buds. I smoked some last night. Not the strongest I've grown but has that great berry flavor and up buzz that I love about this strain.

Wonky Chitral has been hanging out in the greenhouse where the lowest overnight temperature I've seen has been 29 degrees. We are under high pressure and I'm seeing highs around 60 in the greenhouse and lows in the mid 30's for the most part. It seems to be purpling up some but nothing crazy dramatic. I'll let it go a few more days. It looks like it will out yield the green pheno by a bit. We'll see.

Panama continues to impress. It's adding weight slowly but shurely with 3-4 weeks to go. This strain does not make massive thick colas but what is there feels solid. Very fruity hop aroma.

Golden Lemons on the other hand is packing on weight like a freshman on the meal plan. The pistils have a nice lemon cream color to them and the aroma is bright lemon. It's foxtailing and these are some rock hard nugs. Two-three weeks to go for this one. This is the only plant that is showing appreciable sign of fade at 8 weeks in - not sure if I caught that in the pics.

The buds are pretty up close but that plant has never been right. It's a clone that was taken from this one in early flower and it never really got it's act together.

That one was a late start (mid-July) out in the greenhouse last summer. It was just about swallowed up by the more established plants out there. I look forward to doing one up right this summer.

One last picture from today of the plants back in the tent. You can see the fade on the Golden Lemons in this one. That little one in there is a Bangi Haze clone that needs sexing. It appears to be female but I want to be sure. When I am it's mother will be moving into the flower tent. It's time to start feeding some plants into flower.
